Must-see tour.well-structured itinerary taking us through the exciting scenic landscape of lush green rice fields and snake-fruit forests..so you dont feel the long journey time to the prescribed tour spot. mr.Vyas, the local guide,is knowledgeable and accommodative. He should have introduced the various craft- villages and picturesque sites on the way and interacted more with the tourists than the driver during the journey time.A comfortable small group of Six is yet another advantage of maintaining the schedule in time. The eye-catching Karangasem palace with its well designed grandeur and exquisite tropical garden-Tirta Ganga Water palace brought us a very relaxing, memorable day.Special thanks to Viator for providing such a well sculpted tour..
My day trip to the Karangasem tour was excellent most enjoyable day I would recommend this tour. my tour guide was fantastic wonderful man with a wealth of knowledge. Windra was Wonderful and would love to have him as my tour guide again. I would rate my day a 10 out of 10. thank you. Could you please pass on my best regards to Windra and thank him again for me. kind regards Gina Salisbury
What we loved: visiting Sukasada Park and Tirta Gangga Water Palace. These two places made the trip for us as they are both utterly beautiful and well worth seeing - we also had the best nasi goring we ever had at a café outside the Water Palace!
Unfortunately there wasn't much to see at Puri Agung Karangasem, it was like a smaller less impressive version of the other two, and our guide only gave us a very basic history. I also don't think we really saw much of any picturesque villages, though we did stop to take in a great view.
Before all of this we were taken around a silverworks, wood carving, batik processing and art gallery. The silverworks was briefly interesting before we were taken to the shop largest in Bali, no cheaper than UK. The wood carving was actually just a large shop, no process to show. The batik was a 5min brief overview before we were taken to the shop, and even more brief with the gallery. Appreciate they need the business, but being rushed through or not getting the interesting part to be followed around the shop was not great.
Unfortunately our guide didn't give much information about the history of Bali, and even wanted to rush us through Sukasada Park. We tried to get more detail from him, but his English wasn't great and he didn't seem too interested we got more from the leaflets and activity description!.
We would recommend the trip, but actually if you can visit those two places separately you might be better off. Having said that, a decent guide would have made all the difference.
