Spanning more than 200 acres, Bangkok's Safari World contains a dozen attractions that can keep any family entertained for hours. From sea lions and dolphins to orangutans, tigers, rhinos, and elephants, the park has all of your zoo favorites and a few intriguing extras such as an exhibit on eggs and the animals that lay them, plus a river cruise and flume ride past animatronic creatures in the Marine Park.
Visitors can drive their own cars (or take one of the park's) into the Jungle Walk, home to hundreds of animals roaming roadside enclosures; watch a Hollywood-worthy Wild West show performed by acrobatic stuntmen dressed as cowboys and bandits; and meander through a rain forest aviary. Daily shows highlight particular animals and sometimes include feedings, though most shows are announced in Thai.
The large zoo space is also outfitted with two buffet restaurants, as well as a couple of fast food joints with a variety of western and local cuisines.
The park is located northeast of downtown Bangkok at 99 Ramindra 1 Road. The site is open daily from 9am to 5pm, and admission for both the Safari Park and marine park costs about 800 Baht ($22) for adults and 500 Baht ($14) for children.
