In a city as flashy and boisterous as Bangkok, it's hard to believe that one of the largest aquariums in South East Asia can be found in the basement of a shopping center. Yet underneath Siam Paragon mall you will fine an immense two-story underwater spectacle. The massive tanks here hold over five million liters of water and 30,000 aquatic creatures.
Ocean World focuses on both education and entertainment simultaneously. All signs are in English and there are many demonstrations and hands on areas. It's split into seven zones: Deep Reef, Weird and Wonderful, Living Ocean, Rain Forest, Rocky Shore, Open Ocean and Sea Jellies. The Open Ocean segment features a 270 degree glass tunnel underneath the tank and a glass bottomed boat to allow exploration from all angles. Make sure not to miss the eery jellyfish exhibits and the otters, lizards and penguins.
