All-in-One Berlin Shore Excursion from Warnemünde and Rostock Port
From $124.22 (Price varies by group size )
Introduction to Berlin - when you only have a day
, Nov 2019
If you only have a one day ship excursion to "see" Berlin, you couldn't do better than this. The tour company has plenty of representatives on hand and the process of boarding the buses is quick and easy. After a pleasant ride through the North German countryside you go through a tunnel and your in Berlin. Your guide boards the bus and you're off.
Our trip was "Reunification Day" which might have interfered with the trip. Our guide was not only familiar with the events scheduled, but what to see first to avoid closures and crowds. So while the itinerary changed, we saw everything we wanted to. Our guide, who had lived in Berlin for some time not only was knowledgeable of the City, but also about the events that had created the Berlin of today.
The only disappointment was lunch. It may have been due to the changed itinerary, but I felt the plan for us to find a lunch spot on our own was not the best idea, or in the best area by "Checkpoint Charlie." I wish we had had a better idea of where to eat, or gone as a group.
This trip does give a really good "first glance" of Berlin. There are a lot of things that we couldn't do because of time. Once again Viator had an outstanding guide for us, great coordination to get to the tour, and value for the price.
All of the tours we took with viator was 5 star. The tour guide was knowledgable and experience, he took the time to explain and manage our time to get back to the ship. The bathroom stops was a challenge and you need to coins to use the bathroom. The stores will not break a 100 eu for small change. There was a desk upon arrival at the port which had our confirmation and we were able to board a bus which took us into Berlin to join a smaller group.
Because of booking through a third party (Viator) I was unable to get clear answers to questions specifically from the company offering the tour prior to the tour; e.g. where the tour company would be located once disembarking the ship or what happens if I can't get off the ship in time or how to add a guest the night before the tour, etc.
Process once off the ship of finding the tour was easy.
Bus was clean and had WiFi.
Tour guide was awesome.
Bus stopped at a truck stop on the way to Berlin and the bathroom only took exact Euro change. Many people had no euros yet, and the truck stop did not have an ATM. My group and several others could not use the bathroom. I suggest the tour company give everyone a Euro to use the bathroom -- increase the tour cost if you have to, or offer an exchange.
Bus driver, while nice and safe, was extremely slow. We hit traffic on the way to Berlin and it took us 4+ hours to get there from the cruise ship. It took us 4 hours to get back. Basically, 8+ hours of travel for 4 hours of site seeing. The driver could have gone much faster on the way home -- I Google Mapped the way home and it said we could have made it in </= 3 hours using any of three map options.

We wanted the history and lots of stops- and that's EXACTLY what we got with Aaron. We saw everything on our wishlist without needing to ask! He was very knowledgable, very fun and very accommodating to our interests!! We would request him again if we return.
What an amazing day! Francisco was so knowledgeable, enthusiastic and charming. The six hours flew by and we got to see so much of Berlin, old and new. This tour is a must, and make sure its with Francisco.

Berlin stay too short
, Oct 2019
the trip is not as long as Viator claims "5-6 hrs in Berlin if there is no any traffic delay". Our trip had no any major traffic issue but still took over 4.5 hrs to get to Berlin and over 3.5 hrs back to cruise. We actually had only 3.5 hrs in Berlin which included 40 minutes lunch. I would say it can't be 5.5-6 hrs in Berlin under any circumstances.
all in one berlin excursion for our family/friends reunion

Shore Excursion: Best of Berlin Tour from Warnemünde or Rostock with Wi-Fi
, Oct 2019
Super tour guide, excellent command of the language, sites and history! My only complaints are: the tour is advertised as a small group with sightseeing and stops along the way...... not so. Huge bus, filled to the gills. No guide on the bus from the port to Berlin or back. No explanations of the countryside or towns. One stop to pee- pay toilets. Make sure you carry euros- Germany does not accept American money! No sightseeing along the way over or back. But, the Berlin city tour itself is excellent.
We didn't have a lot of time for our tour of Berlin because we had a 3-hour drive one-way from where our ship docked in Warnemunde. Our tour guide, Sebastian, was excellent and very knowledgeable of all history involving this great city! Two suggestions: (1) Have a film on the bus about Germany or Berlin since we have such a long drive. (2) The guide has a loud voice, but it's best to pass out the 'whisperers' as we had a fairly large group and some of us have hearing problems. Thanks for a great tour, Sebastian!

Sachsenhausen-Oranienburg Memorial Tour From Berlin
Moving and insightful tour
, Jan 2020
I’d highly recommend this moving, powerful and really insightful tour.
Ernestina was a thoughtful guide who was thoroughly versed on the site’s history (and other areas of Berlin’s history). She was business-like, efficient, and very friendly (happy to answer all questions to a high degree) and had curated a really special tour for the group. She also looked out for the welfare of the group - it is a particularly emotional draining day.
I would happily take any of her tours again.
George was a great guide. While this was a hard day and a lot to take in, George told true stories, shared historical facts, and brought history to life. For anyone looking for a historical experience with real life stories to truly understand what happened, this is for you. Highly highly recommend.
Some logistics - you're on your feet and walking for several hours, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Also bring a snack and water, as there are is no food available. We went in December and were comfortable in a warm winter coat.
Elizabeth was an excellent tour guide. She narrated everything with great empathy. I would really recommend to take this tour. We read about the holocaust in books and watch in movies, but standing on the grounds where the actual happenings took place is a different experience altogether. Even though the tour itself can be a quite depressing, one should visit the place that witnessed one of the most dark chapters in the history of genocide.
Get a sobering look at the Sachsenhausen-Oranienburg Nazi concentration camp during this guided excursion from Berlin. Learn about the more than 200,000 prisoners that passed through the camp’s gates as you tour its barracks, pathology department, ‘appellplatz’ (roll call square), ‘Zellenbau’ (Gestapo prison), and more.

Berlin City and Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Tour
, Sep 2019
Know up front that you will have a 3 hour bus ride to the first stop at Sachsenhausen on this tour! The bus stops at a small rest area on the highway mid-way through the drive. Once there we enjoyed the tour. Our guide Rob was very knowledgeable about the history and key events in Germany. He especially wanted us to understand the past and events that led to what happened during the war. Rob helped all of us order lunch at an authentic beer garden. Try the curry wurst. All in all we really enjoyed our day. Just be ready to deal with the long bus ride back.
Make the most of your time at shore on a tour through Berlin’s highlights and a trip to the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Learn about Germany’s dark history from your informative guide as you walk through the former concentration camp. Then hop aboard the bus and head to Berlin to explore the city and visit key landmarks such as Checkpoint Charlie, Berlin Cathedral, the Reichstag, and Potsdamer Platz.
We had such a good time on this trip. Eran was a fantastic guide with loads of great information. The bus we traveled on to Dresden was huge and really nice. When reaching Dresden we got a tour of the city and then were given over 3 hours to explore on our own. We were lucky to be there in December for all of the Christmas markets. It was a great day and Dresden (the old town part of it we saw) is a great city to explore.
A very memorable visit to Dresden with Viator. Our guide Oren was the highlight of the trip, very knowledgable and informative. We were very lucky to had him as a guide. Recommended day trip to Dresden with Oren

Join a group as you get a first-hand look at life in Communist East Germany, learning about the regime’s notorious Stasi secret police, daring escape attempts, and exploring sites like embassies of the major Cold War powers, plus much more.
A super tour with our tour guide Jessie. We opted for the 3 hour city tour as we were on a short break and it was a highlight of our trip. Jessie was a great host, very informative and super friendly. You get to see the city from a different perspective as you travel through. The drawn diagram at Checkpoint Charlie is how all history should be taught! The bike tour through Berlin mainly used cycle routes keeping you away from the main traffic (almost all of Berlin is flat which makes for a great ride). Thanks for the beer and making our Berlin trip super!

The Berlin Wall, Kruschev & Kennedy, the Airlift, spies, escapes and “the end of history” – it’s fair to say that Berlin defined the Cold War. This tour is a deep dive into a divided city – a time when it felt like World War Three was just around the corner, when one side of the city lived under Soviet-style communism, and the other was occupied by not one, not two, but three Western powers!
In air-conditioned comfort, in your luxury German car, you'll be taken from West to East across the German capital, criss-crossing where the Berlin Wall once stood, to get the closest possible look at what life was like back when Berlin was the centre of the Cold War. From famous sights like the Brandenburg Gate and Checkpoint Charlie, to lesser-known memorials and stories that you would never find on your own, this tour is far and away the best way to get to know Cold War Berlin.
Semi-Private Berlin - Jewish Heritage Shore Excursion from Warnemünde & Rostock
From $514.76 (Price varies by group size )
Jewish Heritage Berlin
, Sep 2019
Very professional, wonderful driver and guide. Tremendous learning experience about a city steeped in history. So very real to actually see how the Jewish people were made to feel sub human. Every shred of dignity was stripped from families. They were separated, tortured, and gassed in “camps”. It is a story which must be kept alive so history may never repeat itself. Our guide was more than able to give very accurate descriptions of life in Berlin both before and after the holocaust. We applaude Viator for helping and putting together one of the best city tours we have been on.
If you have just one day at port when your cruise ship docks at Rostock or Warnemünde, spend it exploring the contrasts and complex history of Berlin. The afternoon is devoted to an insightful tour of the former Jewish quarter and war memorials.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would!
, Sep 2019
This tour more than exceeded our expectations. While we booked most of our other trip tours In advance, for some reason we left this to the relative last minute and boy are we glad we did. Even the description did not do it justice, as we got way more than we expected or imagined. Our personal tour guide was Valeri and he really made us fall in love with Berlin and it’s beautiful city. We saw most of the city's top attractions (and more!) and Valeri gave us amazing facts and history on each. The icing on the cake is the amazing pictures he takes as you experience each stop so even through you will still probably take your own pictures, you really get the chance to experience and immerse yourself in each stop. Valeri was very knowledgeable and was really invested In us getting the most of our time on tour. He was willing to customize it on the go to whatever we needed or wanted, and he took us to sites we would never have gone to without an experienced guide. We did multiple tours on this trip and this was by far, without question, our ABSOLUTE FAVORITE - tour and guide. I highly recommend booking Valeri and this tour the next time you come to Berlin. Because of him, I want to come back again and again and will recommend this to anyone I know coming here! AMAZING!
Amazing experience with highly knowledgeable guide
, Aug 2019
The tour with Valeri had to have been the best tour we took during our entire European excursion. He brilliantly knows the history of Berlin and takes amazing pictures. He was very patient with my teenage kids. The tour definitely is not cheap, but certainly worth the money. He drove us around in a luxurious van and we stopped at all kinds of places including Checkpoint Charlie, Brandenburg Gate, and parts of the Berlin Wall.

Berlin on Your Own - Round Trip Transportation from Warnemünde and Rostock Port
, Nov 2019
Ship arrived late due to weather. Tour company were outside awaiting all passengers. Because of the delay arrival, it cut our stay in Berlin about an 1.5hrs shorter and because the cruise port was 3-4hrs from Berlin, the tour guide allowed us to remain with the group. Yes, it took 4hrs each way, because of road blocks and construction. I think Warnemunde port to Berlin is just too far. Maybe Hamburg is another option?
