We went on the Boston in One Day tour and really enjoyed the part that went out to Harvard, Cambridge, Lexington, and Concord. Frankie our driver really knew the history of the role that Boston and the surrounding area played in the first battles of the Revolution. I would like to have been on a van that could have stopped at some of the sights in the downtown area for pictures or longer at Faneuil Hall for lunch so that you could explore the downtown area in more depth. Over all an excellent tour. We had on a couple of days to spend in Boston and now I know the places that I will make sure to go and spend some time if I get to go back to Boston.

The tour was split into two parts. The first half was Cambridge, Lexington, and Concord. Then we had 1.5 hours at Faneuil Market for lunch. After that, it was a city tour of Boston itself. The tour guide was pleasant enough, but not very "exciting". The first half of the tour was the best. The second half was really just driving around the city - not very exciting, and most everything we just had to take pics of thru the window while driving past. But, for the money, it was worth it and I'm glad we did it. If you only have one day to explore the city, this tour would be good. Anymore than a day in the city, and I would just do the Lexington and Concord half-day tour - do the city with another tour, or on your own.

The morning was very rushed. We went to Harvard University and had just 20 minutes to rush into the campus and rush out. We then went to Lexington and had 30 minutes there - no time to visit the historic tavern. Then on to Concord where we didn't stop, then to the Old North Bridge for 15 minutes to take photos. Then back to Boston. If only this tour lasted a day so that you could have time to really see the places .
It wasn't worth booking the afternoon part as you spend one and a half hours on your own in the Faneuil Hall area waiting for the tour. The tour itself is very quick and perfunctory - stuck in traffic much of the time and unable to see what the guide was talking about. Much better to use the HOP ON/OFF buses which really help you understand what Boston is about.

The trolley was very close to our hotel - the Hilton Boston Downtown - Faneuil Hall. It was easy to walk there and pick up tickets. It was very convenient to get off and be picked up again and the trolley guides were very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend it as a great way to get to many areas of Boston.

I am very disappointed with this tour and would not recommend. After enduring an 8 hour snooze fest with an unfriendly guide, we asked to be dropped at Faneuil hall. The guide had the driver drop off all other guests and then said he couldn't take us the extra two blocks.
