Bran Castle and Rasnov Fortress Tour from Brasov with Optional Peles Castle Visit
Fantastic tour - highly recommend!
, Jan 2020
Dan, our guide, was absolutely fantastic. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Romania, Braşov, Bran Castle & the Fortress, and you’ll have a lot of laughs along the way too! On my tour, there were just three of us and Dan. The perfect sized group. Thank you, Dan, for a wonderful experience at Bran Castle!!
Our guide, George, was very knowledgeable and a lovely guy. It's an expensive tour, but there were only 3 of us on the tour, which was so nice, especially at Bran Castle where there were extremely large groups. We felt very special and avoided the queues. Peles was the highlight. Drac never even visited Bran Castle, so it's really overrated.
Immerse yourself in the legends of Transylvania with a visit to Bran Castle and Râșnov Fortress. Departing from Braşov, the half-day hour tour begins with a stop at Râșnov to explore its imposing, 13th-century fortress. Next up is Bran Castle, also known as ‘Dracula’s Castle’ — a hilltop estate that conjures up visions of howling wolves and bats fluttering in the moonlight. Wander the castle’s Gothic chambers and learn about its ties to Bram Stoker’s undead antihero. Upgrade when booking your experience and extend your tour to the beautifully ornate Peleș Castle.
Our guide, Tiberias was brilliant. Knowledgeable, friendly, easy going. Time went quickly, saw a bear within 5 mins, foxes, then 3 more bears. Loved it. The rangers are doing a great job protecting the bear population.
Head into the wild and see Carpathian brown bears up close on this 3-hour tour from Brașov. Numbers are limited to eight on this small-group tour.
I cannot speak highly enough of the tour I took. It was great with awesomely in depth tidbits about each place we visited. Our tour guide catered everything to our needs and made sure we were fed and running on time. It was a small group of us so it was nice to have that attention! These three castles are a must see!

Bran Castle and Rasnov Fortress Tour from Brasov with Entrance Fees Included - Optional Peles Castle Visit
Bran Castle and Rasnov Fortress review
, Oct 2019
The Bran Castle is interesting but somewhat over-rated. The castle furnishings are not authentic nor necessarily time-accurate rather they are furnishings and objects donated by local residents to provide something for tourists to look at rather than empty rooms. I had not read anything about the castle before the tour and encourage others to do so - so you are not disappointed in it as I was.
The history of the region and the castle inhabitants is interesting and is available on Wikipedia as our guide indicated.
Also realize that during the off season, there is no need to pay extra for the "quick entry" since there is no que to enter. Plus, we learned after prepaying for the tour, there is a senior entry rate and those with a physical handicap often are admitted free of charge. By prepaying, this information and reduced rates were not available to me.
Designed to delight those fascinated by the Gothic legends of Transylvania, this half-day tour takes you to the heart of the mysterious Romanian region. After hotel pickup in Brasov, tick off top attractions such as the dramatic Rasnov Fortress and Bran’s Castle, whose Gothic turrets and hilltop perch have earned it the nickname of ‘Dracula’s Castle’. If you wish, upgrade your small-group tour when booking to include a visit to Peles Castle, a striking example of Neo-Renaissance architecture.
We could not have chosen a better tour to take while here in Romania. Florin was an outstanding tour guide who exemplified Romanian pride in throughout every step of the tour. He was extremely accommodating and knowledgeable. We are so happy to have spent the day with Florin exploring Braşov.
Our tour guide was so accommodating. We had actually misunderstood the booking and we’re running late to the meeting point. Our guide was gracious enough to wait for us! It was a small group of 4 and therefore our guide was able to give us his full attention! He was so knowledgeable and took his time explaining everything! Very friendly and hospitable! Would recommend his services to all!!

Small-Group Day trip Transfagarasan road and Poienari Fortress from Brasov
, Nov 2019
Best tour ever!! Our guide George was really nice and so kind. We saw Transfagarasan even if it was cloudy, foggy and it was snowing. George guided for 7 hours and he was always gentle and funny with us. This tour is awesome and I think it is the only way to see the most beautiful part of Romania and Transylvania. Out of the real world.
Our guide was Dan..the guy is a complete package. He drove us around to the most serene countryside with a lot of patience..made us see the most beautiful and made us the eat the best. he is super smart, knows the route and the best timings well. If you are good tourist, he can sing as well (really well). I took a day trip to Transfagarasan, Balea and churches and monastery and it's all worth more than with what is being paid.
Hailed as one of Europe’s most beautiful roads, the Transfagarasan Highway is must-do during your time in Romania. Beginning in Brasov, this 10-hour tour takes you to spectacular Transylvania sites such as Balea Lake and Waterfall, the Vidraru Dam, and Poienari Fortress, where you'll ascend 1,500 steps to the castle's hilltop perch. Small-Group Tour Sighisoara, Rupea Fortress and Viscri Day Trip from Brasov
Excellent and very personal tour!
, Dec 2019
Our tour guide Karoly was absolutely amazing! He took us through the mountainside to three sites and by the end of the day we felt like friends! He had so much knowledge of each location and really took his time explaining everything to us. Karoly always made sure to stop for lunch, souvenir and bathroom breaks. I recommend his services to everyone! Thank you for making our trip so memorable!!
We joined for other passengers for this very enjoyable and informative trip. Tudor our guide was very personable and had an incredible knowledge about the places we visited and wider Romanian history. We learnt such a lot about the places and came away with a much better understanding of Romania. Brilliant!
We had "Dan" as our Tour Guide, just the two of us. He is a knowledgeable and experienced guide, with a lively personality. He was unstinting in sharing his time with us, taking us to additional sites of interest. He made our day more enjoyable and valuable than it would have been just for the sites alone.
Explore three historic highlights of Transylvania on a fascinating day trip from Brașov. Visit a UNESCO World Heritage-listed church in the medieval village of Viscri, and wander through the fortified Saxon town of Sighişoara — known as the birthplace of the warlord who inspired Bram Stoker’s Count Dracula. Finally, learn the history of the imposing, 14th-century Rupea Fortress on a guided tour.
Small-Group Day Trip to the Epic 7 Ladders Canyon from Brasov
, Oct 2019
The description does not do this tour justice. It is way above what I expected in both beauty and fun. Bogdan, the tour guide is amazing- he went way above and beyond. He is one of the best guides I've ever had. My trip also included zip-lining and tandem paragliding - all set up by Bogdan at the last minute. I would do this one again!
Our guide was nice enough but clearly wanted to be somewhere else. He hurried us through the hike and provided very little added value. We had some friends who just Uber’d to the trailhead. Save a few bucks and just do that. Sorry Viator but you have to up your game on this one.

What a wonderful tour!
, Aug 2019
I took this tour in July. I absolutely recommend going on this tour! You will not regret it! The day is long but you are picked up at your hotel and taken by car to Sibiu and Sighisoara. It was an intimate tour with only 2 people on the tour, so it was very personalized. We had a great lunch when we got to Sighisoara. You'll get great tidbits on the history of the two towns-- incredibly in-depth!
Avoid the hassle of car rental and experience Transylvania by private transportation. Together with your private guide, discover a side of Romania that most tourists miss out on. Skip the line at the UNESCO listed Sighisoara Citadel. Then, enjoy a tour of the old town of Sibiu at your own pace, pausing whenever you like for photos. One day trip Bear Sanctuary, Dracula Castle, Rasnov Fortress from Brasov
From $44.81 (Price varies by group size )
Great day trip
, Aug 2019
Our tour was private, with a driver that spoke perfect English. He picked us up in a brand new van that made the trip very comfortable. The first stop was the bear sanctuary and it was amazing. The passion of the people running the sanctuary is heartfelt and you leave knowing that your support makes a difference. We then went to Bran Castle which is more like Disneyland than a Romanian tourist attraction. It was still nice to see and the market around the square sold great food and interesting crafts. The next stop was Rasnov fortress. It was majestic and much less crowded. Our driver told us exactly where to go and what to do. we would have been lost without him! We then had lunch at a local spot suggested by our driver. It was perfect. All in all, it was a wonderful day.
If until now you have only witnessed the spectacle of nature want to see it up-close, the Bear Sanctuary in Zarnesti
Imagine how the most beautiful virgin European forests would look like without a brown bear reserve like this one?
And what if we tell you can take pictures of real bears with their cubs up-close, and watch them eat and go about their day from only a few steps away, without the fear of getting attacked?Well, as unbelievable as that sounds, you can do it all, risk-free, in the biggest brown bear sanctuary in the world. That is why the Bear Sanctuary is one of the most sought-after natural tourist attractions in Romania for thousands of people around the globe, regardless of the season. If you think that this Transylvanian Medieval Tour is for you and your friends, it is the perfect occasion to book a trip.

We learned so much about everything, and by the end of the tour Adriana felt like an old friend. Would definitely recommend!

Edith was a fantastic guide and made the tour fun from the moment we meet her. The tour was made very easy with good information about the castles, local area and all Romania! Althought Rasov couldnt be visited as has closed, Edith took us to a loverly fortified church in a small village. Would definitely recommend!
A friend and I were in the area for 2 full days, 9/28/19-9/29/19. We wanted to make the most of it, so scheduled this for our first full day. This is a long tour day (10 hrs +/-), especially on the weekends since traffic makes getting between destinations so slow. Bogdan was our guide. We would definitely ask for him by name if we came back. Even though it took so long with the traffic, he wanted to make sure we saw and experienced everything. He was very knowledgeable. When we would enter an area or room, he would share information about it and let us explore on our own. If he saw we were interested in something, he would come tell us about the art/architecture/furniture/landmark-whatever it was. He was a wealth of knowledge and seemed to know how much to share. I would imagine we would have to spend a few days at each site to have time to learn all he knew. His English was exceptional. He was sensitive to when we needed comfort or food breaks and let us know before leaving one area what our options were and how long it would be until the next opportunity. It was late when we got back into Brashov. We had a restaurant recommended to us by many, but it was not close to the hotel. After letting us drop off our purchases at the hotel, he offered to drive us to the restaurant. Bogdan was wonderful and certainly exceeded our expectations. The private tour (for 2 in our case) was extremely worth the price and included all entrance fees and no lines (even though it was a busy weekend). We were very impressed with the price, how the reservations worked, and especially our guide. When reserving, I put in the "special instructions" box, "pick up at - Hotel lobby". The night before our tour, I received a text saying, "Hi! I'm Bogdan, your guide for tomorrow. See you at 9 am at Hotel -." I don't know how it could have been any better. If somehow they could learn to control traffic :-)! If you have the option of taking this on a weekday rather than a weekend, that would be better. But that is not something Viator or your guide can control.
