Top Cairns & the Tropical North Tours & Sightseeing
I picked this as a last minute tour and did not regret it. The journey there and back was comfortable and the crew friendly. Did the optional glass bottom tour and also did the semi submersible as I am not a confident swimmer and this allowed me to still see the reef.
My main complaint about this trip was bad timing of the extra I booked. The extra semi submersible ride was scheduled directly in the middle of the time on the island. It’s a fair walk from the end of the jetty to the snorkeling spot. So a lot of time was wasted walking back and forth between the activities and I only had about 30 mins on each side of the semi-sub to snorkel and felt rushed. I would advise booking a full day. Or having the semi-sub either as soon as you arrive at the island or right before you leave.
Discover the treasures of Australia’s Great Barrier Reef on this half-day tour to the lush paradise of Green Island, a protected coral cay. Cruise from Cairns aboard a luxury catamaran and enjoy ample time on the island to spend as you wish. Observe the underwater world where you might spot giant clams, tropical fish, and coral gardens aboard a glass-bottom boat, snorkeling, or upgrade to a semi-submarine tour. You can also explore the emerald rain forest on walking tracks or simply soak up the sun on sandy beaches.
Green Island HALF Day Trip from Cairns with City Transfers
, Oct 2019
Very well organized tour and a great way to spend a day and see the reef, even if you don't snorkel. All the staff were pleasant and knowledgeable and the company was quite helpful when we had to postpone our tour to the next day. This company does a really good job at what they do and treats its customers very well and seems to care about all of it !!! We recommend them to everyone!!!
Explore the tropical paradise of Green Island on a half day trip from Cairns. Enjoy around two hours exploring the Great Barrier Reef island with time to snorkel and take a glass-bottom boat. You can even take an optional semi-submarine tour to get close to the reef without getting wet.
Great Place and filled with amazing new types of content for me. Had a great walk through the forests and saw barron river. Great people too. Wayne was a beauty to have around as he explained the landmarks of this amazing country and town.
Definitely recommend this trip - it's well worth taking the skyrail on your way back for some spectacular views of the rainforest, and several stops at some spectacular vista points. The train ride there was good as well. Kuranda village was okay, lots of little shops and stuff to explore and lots of places to eat, but you only get a few hours there which is basically just long enough to grab lunch and get back to the terminal for your ride back - definitely not a lot of time to do any of the other activities. I got lunch and walked back the long way through the rainforest trails, which was nice but felt rushed due to the time constraints. If skyrail doesn't appeal to you, just take the train on the way back and you will have another hour or so to explore Kuranda.

Relaxed jamming at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Park

We had a great time chatting and jamming with members of the Djabugay tribe, as it was a quiet day at the center. The most important thing is the center was established and is run by the Djabugay on their ancestral land.

The market wasn't much. The Koalas were fun, especially when getting your picture taken with one. Nothing exciting about the other animsls, but there were a lot of fresh water crocs. Birdworld was great. You got to interact with the birds. The butterflies were disappointing since there were no Ulysses there.

We enjoyed incredible views of the Great Barrier Reef from the air. Even though the offer is 30 minutes, we experienced 45 minutes from wheels up to touchdown. Way better experience than a helicopter. We covered way more sites such as Green Island, Upolu Cay, Oyster Reef, Arlington Reef, Vlassof Reef and Michaelmas Reef!. We also flew over Cape Grafton, False Cape, Double Island and Palm Cove and other Northern Beaches. Everyone had a window seat, which doesn't happen on a helicopter. A must do adventure!

Bus driver was awesome, the railway had some spectacular scenery, the village was quaint, lunch was good, the native demonstrations were informative and entertaining! Skyrail was a little scary but wouldn't have missed it.

I absolutely loved it! Such a beautiful and clean place. Amazing shows, who line up really good with one another. Loved the boat cruise!! But the best thing by far was The Attack Show! Such a cool croc and amazing, ballsy, trainer! He made me laugh so hard! And all I can think of now when I see a Cassowary is a Emu doing drag... Thank you so much for making me laughing my tits off!

Cairns Shore Excursion: Small-Group Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and Kuranda Railway Day Trip Including Lunch
, Feb 2020
A great way to experience the rainforest. The 7km cable car trip up was excellent, it included a stop off at the first station for a short walk and talk with one of the Rangers. Lunch at the Frog restaurant in Kuranda was delicious, everyone enjoyed it, the host and staff made us very welcome. We then had some time to ourselves before heading back on the Kuranda railway. It was at the end of a long hot and humid day, the old train carriages do not have A/C, so it got a bit uncomfortable. Eileen and Clive operate the tour as part of their family business and they really do look after you. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed our small group tour of rainforest sky way and Miranda Railway.......
Eileen was an excellent down to earth tour guide with a good sense of humour which I like
Lunch was included. I had barramundi which was excellent

loved the train ride ; the wildlife park; the koala picture opportunity keep in mind that you will be at the train station early until everyone arrives for the departure also i was not keen on the 1 and 1/4 hr
shopping time in the little village i did not need all that time.
Scenic train ride was fun. Village was nice with authentic shops. Rainforestation was fascinating. Pamagirri members were friendly and patient in sharing thei culture. Could pet and feed kangaroos that were not caged. Fed us a good hardy lunch. Skyrail ride is long and stunning. Most worthwhile. Bus driver Mohammed was friendly, entertaining and informative. Great experience altogether.

From start to finish a lovely day, so scenic and a brilliant way to see the rain forest. Absolutely loved it.
Kuranda village has some lovely shopping and the cuddle the Koala is an added bonus. Thank you will be back x
While the trip itself was fabulous, the value did not meet Viators high standards in my opinion.
Hotel pickup was indeed utilized and it was prompt and efficient.
We were a group of 4 who paid in excess of $700 for the excursion. Doing it in our own would have saved us at least $300.
Cable car and train as well as the visit to Karanda are not to be missed.
This was an excursion that did not provide guides.
I dont like heights, but still found the cable car nice. If that's something that worries you, it doesnt go extremely high up, and you get breaks in between to walk forest boardwalks.
The train is also very good. You get alot of chances to take photos, although the train only stopped once. There are plenty of clearings on the way down to see the ocean and towns below.

This tour was my last on my last day in Australia and I had two wishes: to see a crocodile and to hold a koala bear. My expectations were certainly surpassed! I travelled alone yet did not feel alone, from the pick up to all the shows, friendly staff and drop off, I had an amazing day and would recommend.
Feeding a crocodile
Feeding a kangaroo out of my hands
Experiencing a live crocodile show (all animals are very respected)
Holding a koala
Riding a boat and witnessing so many crocs was amazing
Great for families, couples and solo
