Fantastic tour visiting some stunning wineries (5 in total and all unique in their own way). Nicholas our guide was extremely knowledgeable and personable and made the trip even the more enjoyable. This trip is a must do
Thanks for a great day. Theulis was the perfect guide, informative and thoughtful ensuring that all our needs were met. There were 11 on our trip, an ideal number to share the day with. Most of the day was at the vineyards rather than on a mini bus. We visited 4 vineyards in the Stellenbosch region, each with its own very unique style. Wine, MCC and brandy tasting all day!!! Lunch was provided. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend. Cheers 🥂🍷
The wine regions of Paarl, Franschoek, and Stellenbosch produce some of the finest wines in the Cape Winelands, surrounded by lush mountains and rolling vineyards. On this tour, enjoy a comprehensive introduction to South African wine as you visit four different wineries; sample a wide variety of red and white wines, including port brandy and sparkling wine; stop at a local restaurant for lunch; and taste regional specialties including cheese and chocolates.
We took about an hour to drive from Cape Town to Groot Drakenstein station in the Franschhoek wine district. Soon after our welcome and orientation talk we boarded the tram, which runs along a former South African Railways track to Simondium where buses disguised as trams took us to the local wine lodges. You can get off the bus at as many of the lodges as you wish (or none). We visited Babylonstoren where we had an insightful tour of the winery and cellars, followed by a wine tasting and then went on to Plaisir de Merle and Allee Bleu. All the experiences were very worthwhile. The bus runs a frequent service and you can board it or the tram at any time to visit other vineyards. At the end of the day, local guides ensure you get back to Groot Drakenstein station, whence the City Sighseeing bus on which you arrived returns to Cape Town.
Explore the Franschhoek wine region on a hop-on hop-off tram tour, which allows you to explore the wineries that interest you at your leisure. Sit back and enjoy the scenery while you ride through vineyards dotting rolling hills; you're able to taste as much wine as you like without worrying about driving. Convenient pickup and drop-off at Cape Town hotels makes this an easy door-to-door option.
Amazing tour. Perfect for a family with teenagers: not too long but not too short either. The wineland is absolutely stunning. Rodney, our tour guide, was very nice and caring making our day just perfect.
I missed having more information from the guide and also on the wineries, they just served us the wines and didn't said anything. The highlights were the second winery that was in a very beautiful place and we had a short but good time to walk around the city of Stellenboch.

With an in-the-know guide, travel to Stellenbosch, where you learn about South African viticulture and take part in wine and cheese tastings. Enjoy a guided tour of Stellenbosch, whose tree-lined streets are thronged with museums, bars, eateriesm and gorgeous examples of Victorian, Georgian, and Cape Dutch architecture.
Franschhoek and Stellenbosch Wine Tour from Cape Town
It was a very nice day.
, Jan 2020
Our guide, our host, our driver were amazing, so was our bus, very comfortable. Loved the wine tasting in Franschhoek, it was perfect, and the lunch time in the town was super.
Got a little bit disappointed with the wine tasting in Stellenbosch, though. Serving us four different kinds of wine in the same glass was not nice, and it would have been way better if everybody was individually offered small samples of cheese.
Enjoy some of South Africa’s best wines without the worry of driving back to Cape Town. This of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch takes you to two different wineries for tastings of reds and whites, as well as a cheese pairing, and guided tours of the vineyards and cellars. On the way, you'll also stop at Bloubergstrand Beach for views of Table Mountain.
This wine tour was so fun. We visited 4 wineries with great wine tastings. it also included lunch with wine also. We are from the USA and enjoyed our group that included people from England, Brazil and Germany. The Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl area is beautiful and the wineries great. It was a full day of wine tastings and I highly recommend this tour.

Perfect Addition to Our Honeymoon
, Nov 2019
The private winelands tour was excellent. Our tour guide, Liezel, shared so many cool pieces of information throughout the day and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with her. The wineries themselves were so beautiful. We loved every one of the four we visited. We were also huge fans of the fact that one included a cheese pairing with its tasing, while another included a chocolate pairing. We'd recommend to anyone visiting Cape Town - the experience is a must. We were sad to leave when our trip was over, but were happy to be bringing back a few bottles of excellent wine. Thanks for a wonderful day, Liezel!
JP was a superb tour guide with excellent insights into the wines as well as deep history of the area. He picked us up on time in a shiny new van and expertly drove us to our destinations, which Clare had carefully adjusted to our requests in advance. He kept us on schedule without pressure and returned us safely home at the end of a wonderful day. We highly recommend this tour company when visiting Cape Town.
We were 4 adults on a private full day tour. Our driver was very knowledgeable about all things South Africa and the 4 wineries he selected were beautiful and very different. We loved them all. His lunch suggestion in Franschhoek was great too. It’s a fantastic day and definitely worth choosing a PRIVATE tour.
Skip the crowded group tours and enjoy a more personalized experience of some of South Africa’s best wineries on a private tour of the Cape Winelands. Visit three wineries in Paarl, Stellenbosch, and Franschhoek to sample their wines—as well as cheese and chocolate—and learn about how the combination of climate, soil, and grape varietals create the unique wines for which South Africa is known.
Fantastic day of wine and cheese tasting with helpful and knowledgable guide Shane and made friends with a lovely family. Tasted 13 very nice wines, only ruined by Americans who as is often the case were rude, abusive and aggressive. Their only reasoning was the tour was running slightly late, everyone is on holiday - relax! Would have been 5 stars apart from this issue although it caused a lot of laughter especially when they misunderstood English humour.
I believe the tour guide was names Marcus. He was prompt and both wineries were nice. The second had a better view and even wrapped any bottles of wine purchased. We had a brief stop in Stellenbosch which was nice. I’d recommend for a short tour.
Stellenbosch: Beautiful Wines and Countryside Views
, Jan 2020
We were picked up on time from the Cullinan Hotel by Bosch Travel in a car as we were the only two on the tour. Our friendly driver Shane took us directly to the beautiful Stellenbosch region. We first went to Anura Vineyard where we were served 4 very different but tasty estate wines off a menu of 13. Anura staff were very friendly and also served a selection of cheeses from the estate while we sampled the wines. We were then shown around the production process and purchased a bottle of their Anura Rose before leaving.
Shane then drove us to the larger Vrede en Lust Vineyard. Here we sampled 6 wines off a menu of about 25. Here we were not shown any process but were able to sit out in the sunshine with a beautiful mountain backdrop. We bought a bottle of their White Mischief a 6 wine blend! We then drove to Stellenbosch where Shane parked up and let us explore the town but for only 30mins. We saw the famous Hi-Tec trainers worn by Mandela on his long walk to freedom. Shane then took us back to our Hotel. Although very friendly, we found it difficult to hear and understand his English especially in the car. Otherwise it was a good value tour. Paying more might have allowed us to sample more wines but as non-experts we had ample.

Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Paarl Full Day Wine Tour
Wines taste with some cheese
, Feb 2020
Transportation, driver and itinerary were very good. However there was apparently a discrepancy btwn what described and what actually was offered. In fact the description of the tour mentioned that in EACH LOCATION (3 in our case) it was possible to taste some wines with SOME CHEESES. Contrary to that, only the first location offered some cheese. In the other two nothing, as according to the driver, they were not included in the package. Actually we took the initiative to buy some cheese by our own. I wrote to Bosch about that complaint, but up to now I didn’t get any reply from them.
It was a great day. We had 4 different wine tastings. Marco is a great tour guide he has responded to our needs and asked us what kind of wine we like. He was also able to answer all our questions. We would do this tour again immediately
Spend a day exploring the Cape Winelands. Visit three wineries in three different towns—Stellenbosch, Franschoek, and Paarl. Sample wines and cheeses at each location while taking in pastoral views of the South African countryside. You will also enjoy free time in Stellenbosch to visit the town’s many cafes, art galleries, and boutiques, and admire its Dutch-colonial architecture.
Cape Winelands Guided Private Day Tour from Cape Town
Exceptional tour with Dave
, Nov 2019
The Cape Winelands tour was truly a highlight of our stay in Cape Town. Our tour guide, Dave, made it memorable and fun. Because it was a private tour, we were able to customize appropriately. We were able to fit a lot of activities into one day: two wineries, a chocolate tasting, tours of Franschoek and Stellenbosch towns and a wonderful lunch. Many tours like this will dump you at a tourist trap for lunch, but Dave chose ROCA restaurant for us where the food was delicious and the views were stunning. Dave filled the day with interesting anecdotes about the places we visited, and gave us wonderful insights into the wine country and South African life. I would be happy to recommend Dave to anyone visiting Cape Town. Really exceptional tour.
Cape Winelands is home to a wide range of historic vineyards, but it's easy to get stuck trying to work out which to visit without a local's hand to guide you. Instead of wasting hours researching the region, draw on the experience and knowledge of your guide on this private tour. Visit a pair of exclusive estates, sampling local wines, cheeses, chocolates and more.
Having spoken to friend and compared this with other wine tours this must be one of, if not the best available. From the very start to the end everything was first class. Megan our guide was really knowledgeable about the locations we visited and a really welcoming person. Only point I would like to make is that the online explanation of the days itinerary does not do the actual experience justice, which is unusual.
Make your Sunday incredible by going on a Sunday Funday tour to Constantia. It’s the perfect choice for wine fans as you’ll visit at least three wine estates in a day. Take the stress out of figuring out how to get between sites, by having round-trip transfers included. You’ll enjoy a braai lunch at Constantia Mist Estate before visiting three award-winning wineries for tastings. You’ll also visit the superb La Parada restaurant to listen to live music.
We were picked up more than one hour earlier before the program started so it was a long wait before any food was served. We got a table on the top floor, with no clear view of the stage, however customers arriving from 7.30 onwards (seemingly last minute bookings) were seated closer to the stage view. Dancers had a great entertaining show, but to see them we needed to stand up and to get close to the glass fence, so if someone remained seated (ie.my husband), he could not watch the show on the stage. Performers came round to each section for a short dance, max for 5 minutes. The 14 dishes were rather on the small side, mainly vegetables and and sauces in different bowls counting a dish each. Dessert was only ice cream and a tiny bite of something else. We expected something more authentic food.
This was one of the highlights of my trip to South Africa. The food was delicious, the audience drumming lesson and singing was exceptional. It was a delight to taste the various African dishes. The only complaint was that there was too much time between each course.
Book ahead for this must-do dinner and cultural show in Cape Town. Enjoy an immersive experience of a traditional African dinner with drumming and other cultural entertainment. You can learn about South Africa's cultural, musical, and culinary traditions in this night out.
Combine a game drive, a craft beer tasting, and a wine tasting in a single tour from Cape Town. Planning this multi-stop excursion independently may seem daunting, but this tour arranges all the details in advance. Enjoy the scenery while a driver navigates up the West Coast to Buffelsfontein, where you'll embark on a guided game drive. Visit both the Darling Breweries and the Groote Post Wine Estate to taste local wines and beers without worrying about a sober ride back to Cape Town.
It is a great way to have some exercise and enjoy the wine. The cycle can be a little tough at times but there is plenty of time given to catch your breath and enjoy the views. Would highly recommend. Our guide Abby was excellent.
Explore the bounty of the Cape Winelands on this full-day small-group guided cycling tour around Stellenbosch from Cape Town, including food and wine tastings. Pedal your way on a 9-mile (15-km) route through one of South Africa's most prominent wine-growing regions. Stop along the way for wine tastings with food, including lunch.
This is a superb way to discover Cape Town’s best nightlife. Save hours researching bars, and instead get a local’s insight of the best places to go to. Visit a variety of different venues, such as rooftop bars and secret dancefloors. You won’t have to wait in long entrance lines as admission is included, and you’ll enjoy a drink at every second location.

A perfect day in the countryside outside Cape Town.
, Feb 2020
The guide made the trip! Basel was telling us so much about Sourh African history much more things than just things about wine. The train trip was nice, the shuttle nice, the wine tasting was nice. A perfect day outside Cape Town!
With a sort of silly 40 min tram ride when a side stop on the road for a photo would’ve done, a lunch not at a winery, and 2 hours from pickup to our first stop, the pace was insanely painful. The guide was amaizng though. The tour company just needs to restructure this tour

This tour is outstanding. Our guide skillfully managed driving the van through some crowded and congested streets while providing interesting commentary about the multicultural community of Cape Town. She also was a marvelous resource for activities around Cape Town.
The wineries included in the itinerary were well thought out. I particularly enjoyed the ice cream and wine pairing and wine paired with biltong. Don’t miss this excursion.

A Must Do In Cape Town - Hot Air Balloon Flight In The Cape Winelands
Ballooning over SA
, Nov 2019
Conrad and his team were excellent. We did go up a day late but respect safety, his knowledge and chill. Once up it was amazing to see so much. Coffee to start, champagne on landing and breakfast were great! Thank you to Conrad and his team, great way to celebrate a 21st!!
We can recommend the tour. The organization and support was very good. Unfortunately, due to the weather, we were only able to see a small area around Stellenbosch. That was amazingly beautiful! It was great fun.
