Full-Day Rosario Islands Including Barú, Cholon and Playa Blanca
, Feb 2020
I loved the tour. We had ample time at each stop to really enjoy ourselves. The VIP boat is very comfortable and the sites we visited were definitely worth it. Santiago our guide, was fantastic keeping us entertained with interesting facts and lovely music as well as guiding us during the snorkelling. Highlight of my stay in Cartagena
This is a very good tour. The Islands are beautiful, a must see for anyone who visits Cartagena. Jesus Herazo was our tour guide, he was very knowledgeable, professional, and attentive always asking everyone if we were OK or if we needed something. I would recommend this tour 100%.
Jesus was awesome! John Wayne was also great and the boat crew! I think pargo option should be included on trip, it was delicious. All was great except for Cholon, I would have rather stayed on first island longer than go to Cholon. It wasn't enjoyable bc it was crowded, not really a place to put your stuff, forced to be in the water. Overall the day excursion was enjoyable!

Full-Day VIP in Rosario Islands Including Barú, Cholon and Playa Blanca
Great day trip
, Feb 2020
Jesus was great and the trip went very smoothly. I recommend for individuals and couples as it is cheaper than other private tours but still brings you everywhere good to go. Upgrading to VIP was well worth it!
Enjoy the most complete day tour in Cartagena going to different islands and beaches in Barú and Rosario Islands in a sport boat with a small group. Corales del Rosario National Park is the name of a group of islands in the cost of Colombia, located just an hour by speed boat from Cartagena, 20 mins from Barú. Blue water, white sand and awesome coral is the perfect mix for a sunny beach day, this paradise is the favorite destination in Cartagena and offer a natural environment to have fun and relaxing.
We visited Cartagena on January 3, 2020. Sion Tours and our tour guide K-I-K-E (pronounced "KeeKay") was the best. After booking, they sent us a detailed email with a map as to where to meet their designated representative. The representative met us at the exact location without any difficulty. She walked us through the area right to where K-i-k-e picked us up in his air-conditioned car. He provided us with a wonderful and informative tour but was flexible enough to take us to a couple of places we wanted to go such as the umbrella street and a local hotel lobby that we wanted to see. K-i-k-e took many wonderful photos for us and even carried my wife's backpack for part of the time. K-i-k-e is a very friendly, pleasant and caring tour guide. His smile is infectious. THANK YOU K-I-K-E FOR AN AMAZING DAY TOUR IN CARTAGENA. You made our vacation great!
Richard was our wonderful tour guide of Cartagena (Dec. 21, 2019). He took us to all the top locations and then guided us to each spot we specifically asked for - including the wonderful Lucy Jewelry in the historic portion of the city. Go there if you get the chance! We took as long as we liked at each spot, not at all like the rushed group tours. Cost was reasonable and we especially appreciated fitting it all in during the short time our Emerald Princess cruise docked (8am-2:30pm). We never felt rushed and returned to the ship with a full appreciation of the history, culture and shopping in this historic city.
Thanks Richard and our driver. Both exceptional gentlemen who helped us up and down the many stairs and curbs in the old portion of the city!

Sibarita Master 4 Course Dinner Cruise and Wine Cartagena
, Jan 2020
This was a great experience. Would highly recommend this romantic 2 hour cruise. The wine was good, the food was also tasty. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the city. Just make sure you find your boat because they leave promptly. Also, bring cash to pay the small dock tax and tip the staff.
We had a wonderful dinner cruise. The staff were attentive and the multi corse meal with wine could not have been better. Lots of food choices and everything very fresh. The eggplant Parmesan was particularly good as were the appetizers. Highly recommend this tour for a couple hours of pure enjoyment.
Take a 2-hour cruise along the tranquil waters of Cartagena Bay and enjoy the flexibility of tailoring the experience to your budget and preferences. While taking in the views of the city's colorful colonial architecture from the boat, you can enjoy a 4-course dinner with a choice of international cuisine or sushi and a drink or bottle of wine. If you don't want to eat, you can simply book the cruise alone.
The sites were worth visiting but the arrangements very disappointing. I will advise you to try another company. I was told I will be picked up at my hotel at 8am but they did not arrive until 8.50. I was the first to be picked up so no excuse. The lunch was very poor although the location by the beach was very nice.
I was not informed of what I had to take with me so even if I had a guess I forgot a towel and flip flops.
I will say the sites are worth visiting although the volcano may not be to everybody's taste.
We had a great time on this tour. The guides were very helpful and had great communication. After the mud volcano, they wash you in the lake nearby. The massage, photos, and wash are 15,000COP but well worth it. I would definitely recommend this tour! The pink sea was pink and beautiful.
Totumo volcano and pink sea natural phenomena in the Colombian Caribbean. The pink sea is in the department of Bolívar is the town of Galerazamba, which is part of the municipality of Santa Catalina. The place has a great history and its salt flats steal the entire show, as they give the waters forming the intense pink sea.
The volcano of totumo can enjoy a different experience, which is medicinal while fun!
The market tour was so great but our guide Kate was even better! Seriously, she made the entire tour, she gave us so much information and we learned a ton! We tried fruits I had never even seen before, learned a few dance styles and got to eat lunch at a restaurant that Anthony Bourdain ate at! Take this tour and request Kate for your guide...seriously!!
Educational and fun walk through Cartagena market and neighborhood
, Jan 2020
This tour was a great way to see the market and neighborhoods, and to learn about the history of the city and people. Andrea was a fabulous guide, combining important historical facts with entertaining examples of life in Cartagena. The tastes along the way, coupled with watching handcrafted metal work, and learning local dance was fun. Eating lunch in the market provided opportunity to learn more and enjoy great food. You don’t want to miss this!
We had Sheila as a guide and the tour was excellent. She met us at the door of the airbnb apartment at exactly the time stated.
Yes, for those that are 5-star hotel, concierge only type people, or if you're the type of traveler who thinks you will be robbed and kidnapped every time you step out of the luxury towncar, this tour may not be for you. If, however, you want to be exposed to local culture with extremely friendly people, do this tour! We walked through the market, stopping at a dj booth, hand painter, herbal medicine, and a fantastic fresh fruit juice place before going to lunch. We felt like Sheila was introducing us to her friends, and it made the morning delightful.
Bazurto Market is Cartagena’s largest and busiest market, and it’s a maze of colorful stalls, exotic foods and local artisans. This guided visit will take you to the heart of the market, where you’ll get the chance to meet the vendors, watch craftsmen at work, sample local delicacies and enjoy a delicious Colombian lunch.

Well come to the most beautiful city of the Caribbean, enjoy the road in a climatized 2019 car and be in Cartagena for 6 hours. Visiting the old city, the walls, San Felipe fortress, Monastery of popa, grafittis in getsemani, havinig typical caribbean lunch and going back to Barranquilla the same day.
No visit to Cartagena is complete without ticking off the Rosario Islands, a highlight of Colombia’s Caribbean coast. Spend the day exploring the sun-soaked beaches and vibrant coral reefs on a private tour on your very own speedboat. Taking a private tour allows you to customize your itinerary according to your preferences while you receive the undivided attention of your personal crew and captain.
This sunset cruise is a must-do when visiting Cartagena (and very reasonably priced from a USD perspective)! The wooden dock where the ship boards is right by the clock tower to the walled city, which means it's easy to get to and central, whether you're staying around there or Getsemani. The crew was all very nice and it's hard to beat unlimited cuba libres (including the crew making sure we stayed re-filled). The sunset was beautiful (with good views of the old city and Boca Grande) and we were actually out a little longer than we expected. The evening we went most of the other guests were a group of singing and dancing French co-workers and family having a great time on their last night of vacation. It was impossible to not have a good time. Make sure to tip the hard-working crew.
Sail, sip, and enjoy stunning coastal views on this cruise of Cartagena Bay. An open bar keeps you refreshed throughout the trip, and snacks are available for purchase. Plus, this Cartagena Bay catamaran cruise is limited to a small-group tour of 12 people or fewer, making for a more intimate experience watching the sunset over the city.
We booked a tour of Palenque online for 4 adults. The tour was excellent, the lunch was tasty, and the tour guides very informative. we learned a lot and very much enjoyed an authentic experience of the culture of this unique village. Tyler and Victor were knowledgable guides who took great care of us and shared their pride in their community. Even when one of our group grew faint with the heat and sun, she was whisked away in a car to a cooler and shelter spot. All the community members we met were welcoming and gracious as well as helpful. It was a super tour and one we would definitely recommend to anyone interested in Colombian history and culture. The only drawback was that we were picked up in a small Hyundai sedan which was a very tight fit for 4 adults on an hour and a half drive. our driver was highly skilled and very pleasant, the car was air-conditioned (a must for us!), but it was quite cozy for our group. It would be quite comfortable for 2 or 3 people.
Richard was absolutely amazing. He took the time to really give me a tour that I will never forget! From the moment stepping in Palenque I was surrounded my history and culture. The tour was informative and interactive. I am so thankful for this experience and would absolutely recommend to this anyone
The Freedom Tour is the most authentic tour offered in San Basilio de Palenque given by certified guides that are native to the community. We offer door to door transportation in comfortable AC cars with flexible pick up time to fit any schedule. Visitors are able to learn about incredible history of the community and feel the African essence that the community has maintained alive for over four centuries. During this tour our guests will hear traditional music, see the practice of traditional medicine in person, learn about the unique language that exists in the community and much more. More than traveling is living grand experiences.
Half-Day Tour to Totumo Mud Volcano from Cartagena
, Jan 2020
Great experience and the tour was great but prepare to bring extra money...when you get there one person takes your phone to take pictures which 50 pesos..once in the mud they give you a massage which is another 50 pesos and when you get out the mud another person bathes you which is another 50 pesos..fyi the pics..you have to pay for the massage and bath regardless of whether you are interested..the ride there was great but the ride back the tour guide had a little bit of attitude because the person that was dropped off before me did not tip. I guess he assumed I was not going to tip him, but I did despite the attitude.

The excursion is made to the largest and most beautiful island of Rosario Islands. The Resort has the most crystalline waters and white sand of all the islands. The maritime transport and the service is exquisite and of great luxury.

Meanwhile, on board, the crew prepares a delicious seafood rice for you to enjoy in such an exclusive environment
This tour was perfect for a quick trip to the beach. The trip was short, the lunch was amazing and our guide was accommodating. He was incredibly attentive and it was an overall great tour. I highly recommend this to anyone.
Well organized transport to Playa Blanca. Be ready for heavy traffic and terrible roads as you get close to the beach. The guide was great and provided good information and advice on how to enjoy the experience. Very happy with the excursion. The beach is crowded and, as many others have stated, there are many people trying to sell things, but the sand and water were beautiful. It was a great day.
Enjoy some fun in the sun during this full-day excursion from Cartagena to the lovely Playa Blanca beach on Baru Island. Journey outside of the city to reach this paradise of white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters, spending the day sunbathing, swimming, and relaxing amidst the magnificent tropical scenery. Enjoy an included lunch of Colombian specialties (if option selected), tropical fruit and water, a professional tour guide and transport via an air-conditioned coach.
I LOVED this street food tour of Cartagena! Make sure you go on an EMPTY stomach, because I was SO full halfway through the tour that I couldn't fully enjoy the rest of the food, but I ate a snack before we started. Our guide was excellent in explaining all the traditions behind each "dish" we tried, and he even offered other options for people who didn't like seafood or some of the options offered. You also get a good sense of the history and location of everything in the city. I recommend doing this maybe on the 1st or 2nd day of your trip to get yourself oriented with where everything is in the city.
The tour itself was very good. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. The frustration was that we booked a private tour for our family - arrived to find a tour of 16 people. We booked private because we were traveling with a three-year-old. Upon voicing extreme displeasure, our group was split in half so we took the tour as a group of 8. The others in our group were wonderful and we enjoyed the them and the tour, but feel it was a but overpriced to not be a private tour.
I can't say enough about how great this tour was/ Our host Cheo couldn't be lovelier and more knowledge able about Cartagena, the people, culture and food. This is a great tour for teens too. My two kids loved it. We were stuffed and tried so many yummy things. We also met another wonderful family on this tour. This is a great way to spend the sunset hours and eat dinner!
Joining a food tour is a fun alternative to a typical city walking tour and a great way to learn about culture in Cartagena. Come hungry for a tour that gives you a taste of Cartagena’s street food specialties, like fried plantain pancakes, empanadas, or ceviche. As you snack your way through the city, your guide shares insight into Colombian culture and takes you to parts of Cartagena you might overlook exploring on your own.
Excursión por la costa de Cartagena: excursión privada por la ciudad
, Feb 2020
Absolutely fabulous tour guide! I mentioned that I have mobility problems and he even brought a wheel chair in case it might be needed!
The pride that he has for his beautiful city and country is reflected in his knowledge! We came away from our tour of Cartagena with a profound respect for the people who brought independence to Cartagena!
Our tour guide was kind and respectful of my lack of mobility and did everything that he could to insure that we didn't miss anything!
We give 10 stars!!!
Get a sense for the top attractions in Cartagena during this 4-hour shore excursion designed with cruise ship passengers in mind. Explore the unique Moorish and Republican architecture of the city’s Manga Island, take in gorgeous views from the hilltop Monastery of La Popa and check out historic San Felipe Fortress. You’ll also enjoy an hour-long walking tour of Cartagena’s atmospheric old city and do some souvenir shopping at Las Bovedas. Your excursion also includes round-trip port transport, a professional guide, and light refreshments.
Our driver and guide provided timely pick up near the Cruise dock and used a very efficient route, despite heavy traffic, to visit La Popa Monastery with 360 degree of the City, then to San Felipe Fort & Castle, the old walled City with a short shopping visit to the Armory and a 45 minute walking tour and a drive through the modern Bocagrande area. This was all accomplished within 3.5 hours, which fit the limited time of our Cruise line. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the City and provided an informative commentary as we drove and visited the various sites. Much better alternative to the Cruise line sponsored tours, which follow a "herd mentality" and emphasize shopping rather than an informative, scenic tour.
Manual our guide was excellent. Took us to various sights of Cartagena. He knew all the short cuts and ways through the crowded streets of “old town”. Showed us new town the fort the monastery shops and versions restaurants. A great tour. Thank you Manuel & Viator

City Sightseeing Cartagena Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour
Hop on/ Hop off
, Nov 2019
The bus and walking tour were very enjoyable. However getting to the bus was a nightmare as we didn’t book through the cruise line.. Getting to the bus can be very expensive as you have to use a cab. We walked which is dangerous.
Tour is exactly as advertised. Plenty of variety of stops to hop off and return. Modern mall, ancient fort, beach, shopping or walking. Very comfortable in AC or go up top and get a better view. Internal sound system with earbuds provided. What did I learn? If you are on a cruise ship, BOOK WITH THEM. The bus will pick you up right at the ship. If you book online with Viator, it is a $20 taxi ride to the tour and $10 taxi back to the port.

With limited time in port, we were able to experience the highlights of the beautiful and bustling city of Cartagena on this tour. We learned much from our very knowledgeable and engaging guide, Benny. An excellent way to spend the morning and Benny made sure we got back to the ship on time. Thanks, Benny, for a lovely experience.
