Absolutely amazing experience! This was definitely the highlight of our cruise. The guides, Nathan, Dre, and Juan were all very insightful and friendly. We were able to go at as fast or slow as we wanted. Sting Ray city and snorkeling were amazing and the perfect amount of time. Highly recommended.
trip worked just as described, no problem meeting up with driver , about a 1/4 mile walk to meet. prompt, friendly and just a perfect day. we came in on a cruise shipRoyal Caribbean at 10:30, tendered to town, had a light lunch, met the driver at 1:15, did the tour and had time for some quick shopping before having to be back for the last tender at 5:30 pm .
It started off a bit scary as we weren't exactly sure where to meet our guide at the cruise port....and then, we had to go to a hotel to pick up other people. After that though, the tour was amazing!! Our guide was friendly and thorough. He told us all about the island and the things we were seeing. He was funny and interactive. We went to Hell, the Rum Cake factory yum! and the turtle farm! Our guide even allowed us to go back to a restaurant that was not yet open when we went by the first time so that we could grab a bite and a drink. I would DEFINITELY recommend this tour!!
The Atlantis Submarine is excellent. The took you down and we saw the tropical fish and the reef. The guide pointed things out to us and it is very close to the cruise ship dock. Definitely do this.
SO MUCH FUN!! Definitely the best excursion we have ever been on.
We have been to Stingray City before but we booked the excursion through the cruise ship and it was ok but I wouldn't have done it again. When booked through the boat we got to the stingrays and there were so many people I felt like I was in a bath tub so I finally got out and sat on the boat. My husband on the other hand loved it and couldn't wait to do it again, so when we went on a cruise earlier this month he wanted to do the sting rays again.
We had always booked the excursions through the boat but this time I decided to book through Trip Advisor/Ebanks Watersports. Best decision I could have made!!
The price was about half of what we would have paid on the boat. There were only 6 of us on the excursion which made it a lot of fun for everyone. Sean picked us up at the port and he was great. We talked about living on the island and a couple places he has traveled. When we got to the boat dock and Sean introduced us to our tour guides Nathan and Justin. They gave us a few instructions and off we went. The jet skis are awesome! I got up to 54 miles per hour..... I fell off a couple times because I was trying to do tricks even though I had only been on a jet ski two other times. We had a blast.
We got to the sting rays and parked off to the side away from the other boats and away from the crowd. Nathan got a couple sting rays and brought them over to us. He knew a lot about the rays and we had more than enough time with them. They also took great pictures of us. A few minutes away we got to snorkel for a while. There were so many colorful fish and it was really cool to see them up close. We finally got back on the jet skis and away we went as fast as we could.
We have cruised four times, this was the only excursion we did this trip and it was more fun than anything else we have done. I will definitely book with them when we go back.
Thanks for a great time!
This was the highlight of our trip! I saw so many people reported in reviews that they'd been disappointed with the excursions booked through the cruise line, that I did some research and found this one rated 1 on Grand Cayman! It was reasonably priced and it was AWESOME! No long lines or bus or ferry rides with huge groups! Sean picked us up just a few blocks from the cruise terminal and our group was all of 9 people! We got to spend our time getting to Stingray City driving jet skis! My husband drove ours the 20 minute ride there. Our 2 tour guides, Nathan and Justin were great, too - knowledgeable and friendly! We spent a good amount of time with the stingrays - holding, touching, and having our photos taken with them with our OWN cameras!, and kissing them on their noses, because it is known to be good luck! Then we split into 2 groups-- 5 went to see starfish, and 4 of us jet skied to another area to snorkel. Then I drove our jet ski back to the cruise terminal. It was exhilarating! The water was pretty choppy - we were airborne a lot, but we didn't fall off once! The only negative things I could say about this excursion are that we only had 15 minutes to snorkel. And I'm sure this was because we waited at a hotel out in a hot van for some time for 5 people in our group who should have been outside waiting for the van! and at the jet ski dock for a LONG time about 20 minutes!! for someone ? to show up before we got to get on the jet skis and get going. This was quite disappointing, as we were VERY rushed at the snorkeling site. I meant to call the company about it when we got back home, but had forgotten to. I would definitely recommend this over any other tour though. Don't waste time with those other cruise excursions - ook this one with Ebanks Water sports through Viator - you'll have the best stories to tell at dinner that night!
This was the highlight of our cruise. We had 7 people 3 double skis and a single and we all had a great time. I have done stingray city before by ferry and there is no comparison. The jetskis were a blast, and we weren't in a group with 100 other ppl like the ferries. The guides have a secure van to store your things and the skis have a dry box. We did the snorkel option as the Starfish detour wasn't available. The snorkeling was just OK, so if you can get the starfish option maybe go for that. The guides were all professional and helpful, and did the usual snag a stingray, let you pet it kiss it, etc. We all appreciated the tipping situation, especially as compared to Jamaica. Rather than groveling for tips they set out a red can and you put in there whatever you wanted, and we gave them a well deserved tip without any moaning or groaning or in-fighting as was the case with another tour company in Jamaica. My highest recommendation !
Wonderful tour! Well worth the money. We were visiting Grand Cayman for one day as part of a Disney Cruise. Our guide Brian found us right away when we arrived off the ship. He was very informative and friendly. We are a family of five with three daughters: 12, 9, and 6. Their favorite part was the turtle farm! We wish we had more time so Brian could have given us a tour of the East Side of the Island. I guess their is always next time! It was so nice to get away from the crowds of people and have a private tour. We highly recommend it!

We booked the tour through Viator because we did not want to send money to the tour operator directly. We had emailed the tour operator before booking with Viator, but did not get any response from tour operator. After we booked with Viator, we were told by Viator that the tour operator could not confirm the tour. Viator told us to contact the tour operator directly to check on our reservation. The tour operator never returned our emails. We emailed them 3 times before and during the cruise. We waited at the port for about an hour and did not find anyone from the company. Viator was wonderful The promptly returned out money. Thank you Viator for watching out for us. That is why we booked through Viator.
west bay bike tour was the highlight of my trip. We were on a cruise and this was the best part of our vacation. Edgar was our tour guide and he showed us the island in a way that no other tour could. My husband is 78 and not used to riding a bike but had no trouble keeping up with the group. The bikes were very comfortable and easy to handle. What a great time. Made us all want to come back to Grand Cayman. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Grand Cayman
Doing what: Grand Cayman Shore Excursion: West Bay Bike Tour
The tour lived up to our expectation. We saved money by not booking similar tour through the cruise ship. The guide adjusted the tour for the rum cake stop to avoid a large crowd from other tour groups. The only problem was that the tour guide did not come to the cruise ship terminal with an identifying sign. The guide was just looking around for people who had booked the tour. A guide from another tour company had told me to look for a person in a yellow shirt. I spotted the guide as he was working back to his bus.
It was difficult to find the bus and driver--no clear information about where we were supposed to be to be picked up. We did not leave the pier area until 9:30 (1/2 hour late). There were six of us "independent" travellers, and we were paired up with a larger group that included two other busses which were disorganized and we ended up stopping places that were not on our agenda when we signed up for the tour. I would not recommend your company to anyone else. The turtle farm was great, but using your tour to get there wasn't. The savings from the cruise excursion wasn't worth it.
We really enjoyed the Simisub tour. I think that may have boosted our courage enough to take a real submarine tour next time! Thanks for adding a highlight to our cruise.
It was hard to find the location for connecting with the tour. We did contact the driver, who was trying to contact some other customers who had reserved the tour. Eventually we started the tour about 1-1/2 hours later than planned in company with another party who had actually booked a different tour. The sights were enjoyable when we got there, and it did work into our shore time from the cruise ship.
This tour was a lot of fun and very interesting. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. No regrets about this tour. I am giving this four stars based on our experience with the local tour company (Atlantis Submarines) and not our experience with Viator in general. The local company for this excursion is Atlantis Submarines. I suggest you book directly with them or through your cruise line for this or any other excursion.
The rest of this review has to do specifically with Viator and, again, is no way a negative reflectoin of our experience with Atlantis Submarines. Simply put, I would not use Viator to book my excursions in the future. We were on a 7 day cruise which had 4 ports of call. Viator offered excursions for 3 of those ports and since their prices were lower, we decided to use them instead of booking through the cruise line. Unfortunately, 2 of the 3 excursions we booked ended up being cancelled by the local tour operators. One cancelled because they did not have enough people sign up for that tour and the other cancelled because of technical difficulties with the equipment used for the excursion.
We did get our refund from Viator for the cancelled excursions without hassle, but the problem is that we did not find out about the cancellation until we showed up for the excursion. In one case, we had to borrow a cell phone to call the local operator. Only after several attempts to contact them by phone did we finally learn the tour was cancelled. This left us scrambling at the last minute to book an excursion through the cruise line. There is no point in saving a few extra dollars if you risk having your excursion cancelled regardless of the reason. Had we booked through our cruise line, at least we would have found out sooner and had more options for alternate excursions. When on a cruise, you don't have the luxury of coming back later to try again so the local tour operator must be reliable.
Excellent tour, the guide took extra time to answer everyone's questions and stopped to permit photos as other tour busses cruised past us. The turtles are a must see and learn about. The guide assisted each person with holding the turtles and took pictures so all family members were in a single photo.
Good experience at discounted price, compared to cruise excursion price.
The tour itself was amazing. The semi-sub was a great way to see the coral reefs. We were not happy with the fact that the tour time was incorrect. There is no way to call from a cruise ship to verify times and we wasted 1 1/2 hrs waiting for our tour time. There was confusion with the sub tour.
I recently went to Grand Cayman as part of a cruise. I would like to say that this tour was the best of the tours we did during the cruise. The bus came to pick us up and was very much on time. The tour itself was extremely informative and we were able to see so much, it was worth every dime. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone going to the island.
