Hanging Bridges, La Fortuna Waterfall, Typical lunch and Arenal Volcano Hike
Full day adventure
, Feb 2020
Relaxing walk through the hanging gardens, and our guide was great at finding all the wildlife. Had a cool digital telescope that made for great viewing as we didn’t have binoculars.
Hike to the volcano was nice - not too strenuous, and the La Fortuno waterfall is a must. Food was great too!
Martìn was very friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. The hikes were breathtaking, and Martìn offered fun facts, history, and information all along the way. Be sure to pack a rain jacket for the intermittent downpours. Too rainy to swim in the waterfall (by choice) and too cloudy to see the top of the volcano, but still worth the whole day’s adventure! And the lunch was delicious! Thank you Martìn and Miguel!
Combine three adventurous activities in a single tour: a hike to Arental Volcano, visit to the Hanging Bridges, and exploration of La Fortuna Waterfall. This full-day tour from La Fortuna, perfect for nature lovers, includes hiking and swimming amidst Costa Rica's beautiful natural scenery. Hotel pickup and drop-off included.
Arenal Volcano Full-Day Combo Tour with Lunch and Dinner
Strongly recommend this tour!

Alex is the best tour guide! We had so much fun on this tour and saw so much! Sure it was a long day but we got to rest along the way. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see a lot of Costa Rica in a little time!
Excellent tour that included a lot of stops to see things along the way. Juan the tour guide is the best. He has a genuine interest in you having the best time and seeing all that you want to see. He went out of his way to make sure we saw a sloth and he delivered. He is an excellent driver, offered a lot of useful information and made sure we had enough time to see things yet kept us on an organized schedule so that we didn't waste a lot of time at one place. I highly recommend Juan as a tour guide!
I could write a book for this review it was so great but I'll try to simplify it. First off, the tour guides were muy excelente! My guide Jeffrey was awesome in his explanation of everything. Very friendly and made experience much more enjoyable. The driver, Mr. Ricardo was awesome as well. Mr. Ricardo truly was looking out for everyone. Our group included a family with small kids who were hopeful to see a sloth. Mr. Ricardo kept his eyes peeled and the moment he saw one, he immediately pulled to the side of the road to let us out for pictures.
I went with wife and an 11 year old daughter. We never zip lined before but that was no problem. After instruction, we all were zip lining like professionals.
From the coffee plantations, random stops for sloth sighting and coati (small anteater/racoon looking animal), hot springs, and waterfall, this was a jam packed fun filled day well worth it! The group we rode with became friends. There was another group in a second van and we even became friends with them. Something about that zip line brings folks together.
No bs. This is well worth it!
In just one day, it’s possible to visit top Costa Rica attractions like Arenal Volcano, La Paz Waterfall, and Arenal Hot Springs when you book this guided tour from San Jose. All-inclusive private transport smooths over otherwise tricky transportation logistics, and your guide keeps you well entertained and informed as you explore. This tour includes all entrance fees plus two meals, adding up to a great value.
3-Days Arenal Volcano Tabacon Resort - Monteverde - Manuel Antonio National Park
Too much time driving to out of the way hotels.
, Jan 2020
My husband and I just took this tour and found it to be a very mixed experience. So I will start with the good and follow with the bad.
The best thing is the value. For all that is included, it is a very economical way to see a lot of Costa Rica without having to drive around on all the windy, unfamiliar roads. The tour did include transportation, breakfast, lunch, and hotel for 2 nights. The food was good. We ate traditional Costa Rican food for all but one lunch in La Fortuna - a fairly good Italian restaurant with lots of wine choices. Any alcohol bev's were not included; but it was nice to always have the option of beer or wine along the way. We were lucky enough to meet very nice people on this tour. The best time had by all was Monteverde Cloud Forest bridges (included) and optional zipline (ticket not included $55) followed by an excellent, fun and informative coffee/chocolate/sugar cane tour (optional $35) at Don Juan's. Manuel Antonio Park and beach was nice - we saw Capuchin monkeys along the trail up close, a sloth far up in the tree and howler monkeys in the distance. Not as many jungle sounds/birds/butterflies as I was expecting - hardly any! Arenal volcano/La Fortuna was super rainy. OK now the BAD: We were at the mercy of our driver and his choice of cousin's hotels which I would NOT advertise as local. The amount of driving was RIDICULOUS and unorganized. The hotels were sub par. One would have been nice had the drapes not been moldy. Our main guide spoke some broken English. The driver and one of our other guides speaking VERY limited English and one driver spoke no English! When we asked questions - like how far are we going, or when we will get to the hotel - we NEVER got a straight answer. We arrived at the hotels too late to eat or swim, and tired after driving an hour or more out of the way (on the way for their drive back to San Jose; I suppose). If I did it again - I would do the research, rent a car and do the tour myself since it was mostly self guided anyway! I would get to a local hotel and skip all the excess driving.
The tour operator went out of his way to accommodate my personal timings and likings for this 3 day trip in Costa Rica. Nice hotel stay, excellent food, guide speaking English about the sub-cultures of the country, all in all an enriching experience for me. Strongly recommend this.
Arenal Volcano- Monteverde-Manuel Antonio National Park Tour.
, Sep 2019
We, a group of 6 people took this tour from August 29th through September 1st 2019. Our tour guide was Yojhan and the driver was Juan Jose. Even though Yojhan cannot speak English fluently he did his job in an excellent manner. One way or the other he conveyed his messages and plans to us. Whenever there is a jungle animal or bird on the roadside he tells the driver to stop the van let us watch them. The fist night stay was in Cabins in La Fortuna and the second day it was in a budget hotel at Manuel Antonio. Kudos to our driver Jose who did a marvelous job by driving through the zip-zap mountain roads. We highly recommend this tour. Thanks to A&E Tours Travel and Viator.
See the vast diversity of Costa Rica on a 3-day tour that includes hiking at Arenal Volcano, exploring the Monteverde cloud forest, and enjoying the tropical white-sand beaches of Manuel Antonio National Park. This expertly organized all-inclusive tour covers all of your transportation and accommodations, so busy travelers can maximize their time and not worry about any of the logistics.
Overall, the idea of the trip is good! We left early morning to collect all the people and move to Arenal. We made two stops, to have a quick look to one square with a nice church and historical chariot (that was quick and nice) and another one at souvenir place (not needed and took 30 min of time). The lunch was nice but the tour to Arenal was a simple stop at the sightseeing spot. I would suggest adding at least an easy walk in one of the tracks around the vulcan. The hot springs were very beautiful and dinner included as well, but instead of 4 hrs we could stay less and enjoy more a walk around Arenal. I did not like the guide of the day, though. He was just moving us around under pressure. No passion, no knowledge shared, just schedules (I did a lot of daily trips from San Jose and it was the 1st time it happened).
Honestly was absoluetly fantastic - i was interested in it obviously for the hot springs/arenal volcano, but we ended up stopping in another town to shop and see something unrelated. On one hand it was knowledge i later was grategul to have acquired but on the other just added a lot more time to the trip that i would have probably cut out. I felt a bit like a sheep in the tourit herd... But overall great deal for the money and i dont think i need to share how absoluetly AMAZING and incredible the natural beauty is ugh!!!!!!
Find your bliss with a classic Costa Rican experience that combines a seismic dose of adventure and relaxation! On this full-day trip from San Jose, visit the very active Arenal Volcano and explore its base with a guided nature hike. Then, unwind with a soak in a variety of geothermal pools at the luxurious Tabacón hot springs. The tour also includes a stop at the artisan town of Sarchí, plus delicious lunch and dinner.
Manuel Antonio National Park Day Trip from San Jose
A day Trip which packs in A LOT
, Feb 2020
We had a SUPER day trip with our guide Alex. It is a very long day ...7am till close to 9pm but packs in so much. The tour starts and finishes with hotel pick up/drop off in San Jose. A straight drive to Arnel Volcano would be 3 to 4 hours but we did a variety of things on the way to break up the journey and make it very interesting. We visited a coffee plantation, stopped for a mid morning snack and to see birds close up, saw a variety of waterfalls and a nice lunch. We choose to do zipp lining which lasted 1.5 hours and had 9 lines through the rain forest..... our first time doing this and not to be missed. We finished with about 1.5 hours at a hot spring. Then it was the long drive back to San Jose with a stop for dinner on the way.
Manuel Antonio Day Trip is a great experience if you have never been. It has lovely beaches and short trails in which to experience the tranquility of this lovely region. Although there are many people, you can still find a comfortable place to set your towel. When I was walking the trails, El Catedral especially, I encountered very few people.
The Viator Tour is very good, as well, especially the quality of the food. I would recommend.
Discover one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica on this full-day trip from San Jose to Manuel Antonio National Park. After a scenic drive along the Pacific coast, arrive at this protected reserve that features lush tropical rain forest, unspoiled stretches of white sandy beach, and coral reefs teeming with marine life. Relax on the shore or explore the jungle with a guided nature hike, where you have a chance to spot birds, sloths, monkeys, and other resident wildlife.
Arenal Volcano Experience Full-Day tour from San Jose
, Feb 2020
A long day but worth it. We were lucky enough to have Alex for ourselves, as the other 4 people cancelled the trip last minute, so it was only me and my friend.
Alex was great, one of the best guides i have ever met.
Dinner and lunch was tasty, big portions, we couldn't even finish the dinner.
I would have loved to see a bit more of the vulcano, but i appreciate there isn't enough time for that.
The hot springs was good, not too busy, a bit too hot for my liking, but my friend loved it. We spent 2hours there which i thought was a bit too long but my friend thought it wasn't long enough:)
The birds were beautiful, the iguanas amazing, loved them.
The waterfall is very pretty, but again we didn't spend much time there, i would have preferred more time there and less at the hot springs.
There isn't any walking or hiking involved in this trip, very easy and comfortable, as I said it is a long drive, but didn't seem that long because the scenery is amazing, there is always something new to see.
Alex even stopped the bus to show us a sloth with a baby sleeping on a tree which was cute, they were quiet close so we could easily see them.
We Oregonians Jerry and Janis Grover took this tour on January 27, 2020. We had an excellent guide, Alex Blanco, both personable and professional who made the tour very enjoyable. That is because he made sure we not only saw all aspects of the full day tour as described but also because he is very knowledgeable about Costa Rican history and ecology and took time to stop the van so that we could photograph an orange tarantula in the road, a sloth in a tree, a horde of Costa Rica raccoons, and many beautiful flowers and plants. We enjoyed a great snack as well as a tasty lunch and dinner. Alex was patient and jovial throughout. We highly recommend Alex Blanco as a tour guide. HE makes the tour.
So glad we took this day tour from San Jose. The trip went so well and we did as what is included in the description of the tour. Our tour guide Alex did an excellent job to make us to have the best experience during the tour. We saw the beautiful birds, a sloth, a toucan, a howler monkey. Very impressed with the water falls and enjoyed the hot spring in La Fortuna where the Arenal volcano is located.
See more of the Arenal Volcano region with the convenience of a full-day tour from San Jose. Take a scenic route to Arenal with views of farms, rain forest, and small towns, and stop at a coffee plantation where you can sample coffee and traditional snacks. Stop at a waterfall, look for wildlife, then have the afternoon to soak in hot springs set in a lush garden near the Arenal Volcano.
This was a packed, fun day! Fernando Moss was our guide and he was great. He answered all of our many questions and definitely knew his information. Ziplining was an exciting experience and seeing the exotic animals was such a treat. I would definitely recommend and would do it again!
Tour guide Alex was amazing. ALEX gave us a bang for our buck. He showed us a view of the countryside. Our trip was amazing. We had a great time, and recommended it to anyone who would like to see the county side and history of Costa Rica....

Combo Tour Poás Volcano -Doka Coffee Plantation and La Paz Waterfall Gardens
The sloth almost kissed me.
, Feb 2020
This was an AMAZING tour. I do not like group tours but this tour keeps you moving and flowing so you don't feel like you are on a group tour. The food for breakfast and lunch was incredible. The tour guide gave great information throughout the tour and answered questions. He was friendly and informed. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone going to San Jose. I already sent 3 people from the hotel to take the tour.
Pair some of Costa Rica's finest coffee with magnificent volcano and waterfall views on this combo tour from San Jose. See how beans are grown and roasted to perfection at the Doka Coffee Estate, and admire the crater lake and sputtering fumaroles of Poás Volcano National Park. Later, get close to nature among the butterfly gardens and reptile exhibits at La Paz Waterfall Gardens, where a highly rated buffet lunch awaits.
I was unsure how this tour was going to be but it exceeded my and my family’s expectations. Gabriel our tour guide had a fun engaging personality. He shared snippets of history, art, stories of Costa Rica and cultural items with zest. We covered a lot of ground between the bus and walking but it was just the right amount of both. I have food allergies and the tour was very accommodating with them. Seeing San Jose was wonderful!!
This is more a bus tour than a bus walking tour. Maybe a little over priced .The tour leader was
Knowledgeable . My pick up time was between 0900-1000 but the actual time was 1025. .This is a large window of wasted time
Guide and tour were great. I was a little disappointed at the amount of English spoken by the guide. There were 24 English speaking people and 3 Spanish speaking people. The majority of the speech spoken by the guide was Spanish.
Explore the Costa Rican capital’s rich history, landmark buildings, and modern culture on a combo bus and walking tour of San Jose. Get a great introduction to city highlights like the National Theater and Art Museum, and stop to walk through bustling markets and public plazas to feel the pulse of this modern Central American metropolis. Get an extra boost of Costa Rican culture by listening to traditional folkloric music onboard the bus.
Visit the Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Reserve, a 26,000-acre (10,500 hectare) oasis of virgin cloud forest. Visited by roughly 70,000 people a year, the reserve is home to about four percent of the world’s animal species. Walk across suspended bridges and hike among native flora and fauna. You can also pay extra to zipline through the canopy. Lunch and a guide are included.
The experience was 1st class with a guide the entire time. Safety is also a priority; zip line guides had 27 years experience and built the park! Wildlife is abundant and facilities are clean and comfortable! Don’t hesitate on this experience!
Good trip. The zip lining was very fun and the snake and frog enclosure was also very good. We saw a toucan flying over which was cool. On the cart which goes over the rain forest canopy, it was difficult to see any animals however the views are good.
Experience a fun-filled day in the jungle at the Rainforest Adventures Costa Rica Atlantic eco-reserve. Your multi-pass gives you access to six different activities throughout the beautiful tropical park. Get a bird’s-eye view of the rainforest canopy with an aerial tram ride, encounter native critters at a butterfly and frog garden, cross a hanging bridge, and explore the jungle on a nature hike. Get your adrenaline pumping as you soar through the treetops on ziplines, including one of the longest and fastest in the country.
the bridges were nice but it was a very long and bumpy ride, not worth it in my opinion. was in the van for 8 hours and at the bridges for 1-2 hours. it also rained so we were soaking wet the whole ride back to SJ. great driver/tour guide, but I wouldn't recommend this excursion.
Visiting Monteverde from San Jose in just one day can be challenging on your own, but this guided tour streamlines transportation to make the trip a cinch. Arrive at Monteverde in the morning and head straight to a canopy tour: hike on hanging bridges and learn about the rich cloud forest environment before heading back to San Jose.
San Jose Walking Tour: Food, History and Architecture
, Feb 2020
Gladys is the BEST!! Suggestion: do NOT eat a big breakfast before this tour; there is a lot of eating involved (including the best ice cream this boy has ever had, no joke); fresh fruits, quesadillas, etc. A fun time, with plenty of relevant social and political commentary.
Our tour guide Gladys was fantastic. She was energetic, full of information, and stories, along with some historical information. Her English is really good. We never felt hurried or rushed nor was there any pressure to buy at any of the stops. There were several opportunities to sample local fruit and drinks, and the tamales at the end were an unexpected treat. We highly recommend this tour - just the right amount of markets and history. As described in a previous reviews, the tour starts at the corner of Calle 6 and Avenida Central, under the Bienvenidos Mercado Central Fundado en 1880 (NOT at Calle 8 and Avenida 1).
The focus of the 3 hour tour is walking through a couple of central markets. We tried many different types of fruits, empanada, tamales, coffee and teas. We went on the 11.30am tour and all the food we ate served as our lunch.
Get a taste of San Jose’s culture and cuisine on this 3-hour walking tour. Explore Costa Rica’s capital accompanied by an expert guide and learn about the city’s history, architecture and flavor. Explore the produce stalls of two traditional markets and discover what makes Costa Rican coffee so delicious as you sample some local brews. The tour is capped at 12 people for a personalized small-group experience.
Don't think twice... Just go ahead and book this tour! Don't be put off by the lack of communication by the tour operator before the tour because once you meet your tour guide you are in safe hands. Our tour guide Kattia was truly outstanding. She was very knowledgable about the history, culture and flora & fauna of the land and had an answer to every question we asked (and trust me we asked her oh so many). We were a small group of six and Kattia took great care of us. She was flexible to our needs and we had such an amazing time. Infact, she even went to the extent of helping us find our Air BnB after our tour ended. I have never come across such a gem of a person and am eternally grateful for all the memories she created for us.
The tour overall was great & very affordable. We were put up in some really good hotels (some luxury ones too) and visited all the highlights of Costa Rica in 8 days. Absolutely worth every penny we spent. I highly recommend this tour.
The perfect balance of planned activities and relaxation
, Nov 2019
Kathy and Eric were the best tour guide and driver EVER. Eric did an excellent job of making us feel safe. He even went the extra mile to pick us up from the airport when we got a later flight. This vacation is truly affordable and gives you an immersive experience of culture, cuisine and adventure. We went for our honeymoon and Kathy was very knowledgeable and made sure the hotels provided us with personal touches for a romantic get-away such as champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and rose petals on the bed. It was fantastic and definitely something I will recommend 100 times over!! On day 4 and 5 we were even able to upgrade to all inclusive that gave us nonalcoholic and alcoholic drinks as well as meals included for only $50 per person per day. We will definitely be back. Thank you for an unforgettable experience - PURA VIDA!!!!!!!!!

Irazu Volcano, Cartago Ruins and Sarapiqui River Tour from San Jose
Nice tour guide but tour was average
, Feb 2020
I struggled with how to rate this. Tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable however it was a long day in the tour van. The ruins really weren’t much to see our group was there for less than 20 mins. Be aware of the weather conditions for the volcano. It was very foggy and rainy so that we couldn’t see a thing. Obviously not the tour guide’s fault but I wish it would’ve been communicated and another option offered. It was cool to see some animals in their natural habitat on the river cruise but I don’t know if it’s worth hours there and back.
Lots of time in the car, but a great way to see sights in a day. George was helpful and made the guests aware of the agenda and kept us on schedule. We made it to Irazu before the long long line of buses in the morning, so that was great! Weather is variable, and on the day we went, it was still cloudy. However, the sight was still amazing and we got to see a bit of the volcano. Good amount of restroom breaks and the lunch was good.
The sites on this trip were great! The Cartago ruins have been transformed into a beautiful looking park...unfortunately we had to leave 10 minutes before they opened to really get to see the inside. The day we were there the Irazu Volcano was quite foggy and drizzling. We pulled up and were offered the bathroom. When no one needed the facilities the guide got quite rude about how 'we paid the park entrance fee he didn't want to hear it in the reviews that no one saw the volcano'. After confirming that this was the stop for viewing the volcano as well as using the bathroom we got out and walked the short way to the volcano crater. Initially it was foggy, but as is common with mountain weather wait a minute and it changes, the fog cleared and we got a beautiful view of the crater. After getting back in the van we made a short drive down to the coffee/breakfast stop. The food was great!
Following this we needed to head back towards San Jose to meet with an additional 4 passengers who were joining for the afternoon. The boat ride to lunch was GREAT! We saw lots of birds, monkeys, sloth, and crocodiles. The boat driver (pilot? captain?) was very good at knowing where the wildlife hungout and spotting it. Once we got to the lunch spot the 4 additional passengers we picked up went and did other activities while we were just left alone. This was not expressed in the initial plan...we waiting over an hour and a half of just nothing time waiting for these other guests to zip line and horse back ride. It was unnecessary, I understand that they were just trying to maximize on their resources and not run so many tours but it made us feel very ignored and not valued as a guest on the experience we had booked. On the van ride back to San Jose our guide said next to nothing and checked out and fell asleep. We were scheduled to be picked up at 6:40am and were returned to our hotel about 6:30pm. A 12 hour day that could have probably been 2 hours shorter if we wouldn't have had to coordinate meeting with the other tours and wouldn't have had to just wait around for them to complete their separate itinerary.
I think if I would return to San Jose I would look for a smaller tour company that had more of a focus on the individual guest experience over a large company like Gray Line what was just trying to pump the most people thru the day.
Discover Costa Rica's famous natural beauty, historical treasures, and fresh flavors on this full-day tour from San Jose. Visit the ruins of a 16th-century church in Cartago, soak up an awe-inspiring views into the crater of Irazú Volcano, and spot native wildlife such as sloths, crocodiles, and monkeys on a cruise down the Sarapiquí River. It was an excellent tour with an excellent guide. We learned a great deal about the history and local culture of the area. The meal at the end of the evening was amazing to say the least. We highly recommend this as part of your experience in Costa Rica.
This tour is an incredible value and it was better than I expected. Our guide Eric was calm, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. I learned more about San Jose, Costa Rica than I expected I would in such a short amount of time and I saw so much. Finally, the end cap was an amazing dinner -- that blew me away. I highly recommend this tour. Touring with a local is such a great way to uncover a cities secrets; this tour validated that for me.
Discover San Jose’s hidden delights with this unique evening tour of the Costa Rican capital. Wander through a maze of vendor stalls and to learn about staples of local cooking at the Central Market, and see the opulent National Theater and other architectural highlights on a twilight walking tour. Half-Day Trip to Irazu Volcano and Cartago from San Jose
Half day trip to Irazu
, Jan 2020
I thought the price was very high for a limited experience. The volcano was nice to see. We could have skipped the church, although some other passengers really liked the church. Given it was Sunday we could not go into the church; mass was occurring when we were there.
Satisfy your inner explorer on this half-day tour from San Jose that combines a trek to towering Irazú Volcano with a visit to the historic ruins and basilica of Cartago. Visit the on-site coffee bar to taste several of Café Britt’s different roasts, accompanied by chocolate. Round out the day with a farm-fresh buffet lunch of traditional Costa Rican cuisine at the plantation restaurant.
This was a wonderful, jam-packed tour despite the rain. A special shout out to Hansel, our guide, and Eduardo, our driver! I spent close to three weeks in Costa Rica and still Hansel's passion for wildlife and his job really stood out. He took the time to spot birds and sloths even in wet weather, and his enthusiasm was undimmed even during our volcano hike in torrential rain, where he took the time to point out miniature orchids and tell us about leaf-cutter ants. Eduardo also found us a bright yellow eyelash viper close to the road (which was far more hidden than the description would have you believe). We could not swim in La Fortuna waterfall as the rains had been too heavy. The lunch break was in a wonderful family run restaurant with a lovely garden and birds - one of the best meals I had in Costa Rica! Rainforest Explorers did a brilliant job with this tour!
Mystic Bridges, La Fortuna Waterfall and Arenal Volcano
, Jan 2020
Absolutely amazing adventure. We enjoyed every aspect of this tour. Our guide, Hancel was amazing at spotting wildlife, no matter how small. Very knowledgeable and patient. Our driver and host for lunch, Eduardo offered us the best meal of our trip.

Savor a tasty beachside lunch buffet and relax on the round-trip ride from your San Jose hotel.
Our guide and driver were wonderful. It was wonderful with the sights, information, food and all that were able to do during the day. A highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. Our guide Filidander and out driver Antonio were outstanding.
Make the most of your Costa Rican vacation with a packed day exploring the country’s natural and cultural treasures. On this full-day tour from San Jose, sample Costa Rica’s favorite drink during a tour of the Doka Estate coffee plantation. Hike through the rain forest to catch views of Poas Volcano, and see the butterflies and hummingbirds at La Paz Waterfall Gardens. Breakfast and lunch are included.
Our guide was wonderful. She took her time to answer our questions. Very informative and fun! We had a chance to sample chocolate that we made ourselves. Coffee was suberb! There is a small gift shop at the end of your where we purchased coffee/chocolate and a very reasonable price. Definitely recommend this as an easy tour.
As one of Costa Rica's biggest exports, coffee plays a big role in Costa Rica's economy—and its culture, too. Learn about artisanal Costa Rican coffee from bean to cup complete with harvesting, roasting, and grinding on this tour of a family-owned coffee farm near Arenal Volcano. As a bonus, try other favorite Costa Rican crops such as chocolate and sugar cane.
Arenal Volcano and Baldi Hot Springs Day Trip from San Jose
Be prepared for a long day!!
, Dec 2019
Wonderful hot springs in Baldi
Our tour guide Javier was fabulous and explained everything well in English and Spanish
A lot of time spent and wasted on pick ups and drop offs to and from trip (additional 2/3 hours being on the bus)
Bus was very uncomfortable and tight considering you are spending 6 to 7 hours on the bus round drip. There wasn't enough leg room
Lunch and dinner was average - food was bland and not worth the price- better off not doing the tour package and eating at one of the restaurants at the springs
All in all the trip was average and the hot springs made it worth it but would recommend not doing the tour and looking into other options to save time and spend time as you wish
Experience one of Costa Rica’s most iconic adventures as you explore Arenal Volcano and relax with a dip in natural volcanic hot springs. On this guided full-day trip from San Jose, take in spectacular views of the volcano, which regularly emits puffs of smoke.
