How to Get There

The museum is located in Chamarel in southwest Mauritius, just opposite the entrance to the Seven Colored Earth. Buses run to Chamarel from the neighboring towns; the museum is easy to find along the main road. Parking is also available.

The village of Chamarel is home to a number of notable attractions. After a brain-boggling visit to the Curious Corner, head to the Chamarel Waterfall for a swim beneath one of the island’s most striking natural wonders; take a hike or Jeep safari through the Ebony Forest Reserve; and visit the magnificent Seven Colored Earth. Finish it off with a rum tasting at the Rhumerie de Chamarel distillery.
