Typical bus tour. I was traveling solo and this was the easiest way to get to see Valpo in the limited time I had. Sometimes these tours are made better by the quality of the other guests on the tour. In this case every seemed to stay siloed in their own little groups and didnt’ interact much with each other. The tour guide was very good, but the tour was not entirely what I expected. You get picked up and start your drive to Valpo. On the way they stop for a small sample of pastries and a local drink (could have done without this). Drive you through town to Valpo, driving by a lot of landmarks but not stopping. They drive up to the top of the hill, then take a 1 1/2 meandering walking tour through the streets to look at the art on the buildings. Not much about the buildings, the history of teh community, or things like that. Just the art. Ends with a funicular ride to the bottom of the hill, but totally by passes the port area. They take you to see a fish market, and then stop through Vina Del Mar (get out at a couple locations but not much else). and then you stop for wine tasting on the way home.
Look, its a full day of driving, and you do get to see a lot. If you aren’t spending actual time in Valpo its an efficient way of seeing some highlights of the city, but its very high level and again, I think the tour is largely dependent on the quality fo the guide you get paired up with (and that’s largely out of your control).
Things they could change, spend less time at a over priced lunch, take you to walk around some of the more prominent landmarks (not just the art). They could make more time for this by cutting out the wine tasting as well....I’m going to see Valpo, if I want to wine tasting I’ll schedule time for that with a specific tour (and did).
The worst was the “tourist lunch” at a preselected location with nice views of the city and harbor but with a preset menu and prices that far above what you would be charged elsewhere. Tourist trap is the right word, but the tour operator has a pre-arrangement with the establishment (as do a lot of other tours).
Revel in the vibrant color and culture of Valparaiso Port and Viña del Mar on a full-day tour of the coastal cities from Santiago. Travel through Chile’s spectacular countryside, stopping in the picturesque Casablanca Valley to taste Chilean wine, and then arrive in the verdant city of Viña del Mar. Admire the gorgeous beach and revitalize with a delicious seaside lunch (at your own expense), and then take a tour of Valparaiso’s kaleidoscopic sprawl of houses and hills. Capture photographs of street art and hear of the city’s interesting history before returning to Santiago by luxury coach.
This was a great trip. Our guide, Manny, and our driver, George, were both excellent and gave us a full commentary throughout. The route to Cajon Del Maipo was over some rough roads with amazing views, and the skill of the driver was very apparent. Overall, this was an excellent choice of a trip. with a great picnic 9,000 ft up in the Andes
Our guide Alexis was terrific. Good explanations, easily understood. The scenery along the way was breathtaking, history of the lake very interesting. Was there a hot springs we were supposed to see? Stops were well planned, lunch was excellent, despite pay toilets.
Escape Santiago to enjoy the natural grandeur of the Andes during this day-long excursion to Cajón del Maipo with a small group. Enjoy views of gushing waterfalls, icy glaciers, and towering cliffs as you visit this scenic outdoor area. Cap it all off by savoring an included picnic featuring red wine and a snack made with locally-sourced ingredients.
Frutillar, Puerto Varas, and Petrohué Waterfalls Excursion from Puerto Montt
First stop Chile!
, Feb 2020
Very good trip. We received clear instructions how to find the tour bus when we got off the ship. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly and overall, we thought it was great value. It would have been nice to have had a little more time to explore and/or shop, but that's merely an observation not a complaint. We have never been disappointed by any tour we've booked with Viator.
It would be a 5 star review, our guide Lara and driver Alex were very helpful and knowledgeable but we booked and paid for a small group and landed in a bus with 35 people which made the whole experience less intimate and slower.
Annie was a terrific guide with a great personality. Our ship actually dock inside of being tender in and GV Turns did a excellent job in handling the tour and amount of people coming all at once. Woild highly recommend the this operator.
Known for its dramatic landscape at the foothills of the Andes, Puerto Montt is best explored outside the city limits. Visit three of the area's top attractions on this shore excursion from the port, including a stop at Petrohue Waterfall, the German city of Frutillar, and the City of Roses, all while taking in incredible views of the surrounding lakes, mountains, and volcano. This tour includes all entrance fees and transportation.
I had a great time on this tour. My tour guide was Christian and my driver was Patricio. The transportation was clean and functional. Patricio is a safe driver. Christian has an excellent command of English and is a wealth of knowledge about the wine industry in Chile.
We started the day with a light breakfast at a local artists house, this was followed by visiting several wineries where we talked about the history of Chilean wine and experienced different varietals. Lunch was at a traditional Chilean farmhouse with locally sourced foods and it was amazing. We completed our afternoon with one additional visit to another winery. The ride back to Santiago was quick and uneventful at the end of a full day.
If you take this tour try to make sure Christian is your guide. I’m not sure if the operator uses other guys, but I can tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed my time with him, his command of English and his encyclopedic knowledge of all things wine related and historical to the region added that much more character and richness to the tour. You won’t regret it.
One thing to note, this is not like wine tasting in the United States. They don’t set up a glass in front of you and then pour through seven or eight different bottles of wine allowing you to taste each one. In this case you will be sharing one or two bottles of wine from the winery as you experience the winery and learn about its history. You are tasting wine from the winery but again you are focusing on the one or two bottles the tour provides and not a full flight tasting as is typical in the states. But I didn’t mind it one bit. You get to try plenty of amazing wine.
Really great experience with a local flavor. Christian was very knowledgeable of both Chile and the area and an expert on the wines in the region. He was an awesome guide and spoke English very well. A unique winery tour with local home visits for breakfast and lunch. Wineries were superb. Our bus really bonded and we had great fun all day,

This ended up being a private tour, which was quite fun. My coworker and I are both wine connoisseurs so we were able to experience the wineries at our own pace.
Juan, our driver, was knowledgeable about the area and gave us a great history of Santiago, Chile, and the Casablanca Valley during our drive. Very friendly!
Christian is a great guide with immense knowledge on Chile. He was extremely helpful and provided useful tips for us. We really enjoying our tour with his and would defenitelly do another tour with him.

Full-Day Wine Tour from Santiago with Sommelier Guide
From $170.00 (Price varies by group size )
, Jan 2020
This was the best wine tour I have ever experienced. Mick, our sommelier, guided us through the history of Chilean winemaking, vinification, tasting and food pairing while visiting several vineyards. Clemente, our tour guide, explained the concept and practice of biodynamics as it pertains to sustainable wine production during the visit to his family vineyard. It was the first time our tour guide and sommelier worked together on this particular tour. I found the experience very informative and enlightening. The variety and selection of wines was excellent. I would very highly recommend this tour.
Mick conducted a fantastic wine tour, he was warm, funny and very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed how well he knew the individual wineries and what made each of them worth visiting. We were guided through the recommended tastings by Mick who helped to expand our wine
knowledge in a genuine and fun way. I highly recommend this tour and should we return we would look him up to continue our wine journey in the areas surrounding Santiago.
Mick conducted a great tour of a variety of Maipo wineries. His expertise and professionalism with all in our group made for a very memorable day. Tasty Chilean wines, ambiance in the vineyards, tours of the cellars and a fantastic al fresco lunch stop (at a winery, of course) with killer views.
Don’t hesitate: Take Mick’s tour!

Magdalena Island Penguin Tour by Boat from Punta Arenas
Exactly as advertised.
, Jan 2020
If you want to see penguins, go on this trip. It’s a simple boat ride to the island and hike around, with penguins everywhere! Glad I did it. They cross your path, waddle up to you, pose for selfies, etc. and i was back by 1pm. Lovely morning.
It was amazing to see the penguins up close and to be able to photograph them! We got to spend 1 hour with penguins! It was amazing experience. Guide/driver were very nice. This was about 5 hrs total time and worth every penny!
Instructed to arrive @10am, on bus @11:30 and weren’t on boat until 12:30, was 6.5hrs (not 4)... lots of wasted time, but host was cool... wish we could have went for a hike in the wasted time. Island was awesome! Didn’t get to see the sea lions, I get the impression that nobody gets to see them, the water is “always too rough”... if you are easily sea sick, do not take this tour! Was very average
Marvel at thousands of playful penguins in their natural habitat on a morning tour of Magdalena Island from Punta Arenas. Cruise past stunning seaside scenery as you venture to a picturesque and protected nature reserve to observe the incredible creatures. Gain insight into their physiology and behavior with a knowledgeable guide and embark on a hike to a legendary lighthouse. Weather permitting, sail to the shores of Isla Marta to witness sea lions and elephant seals splashing in the sea.
Nellie and JORGE were great guides for a perfect day. The falls and volcano are not to be missed sights in Chile. We were fortunate to have perfect weather. Very glad we selected the small group tour with Viator and GS Travels.

Excellent tour north of Santiago
, Feb 2020
Excellent overview of countryside near Santiago. Lots to see in Valle de Aconcagua and the drive to Portillo and Laguna Del Inca was outstanding! Alexis, our guide, was informative and funny. Hector, the driver, did great on the 31 switchbacks up and down the mountain. Worth doing.
Great combination of wineries, history and stunning scenery
, Jan 2020
The tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable about wine, and the drive up into the Andes was stunning. I took one point off for the minivan which although modern and air-conditioned was very claustrophobic.

Small-Group Cajón del Maipo Full-Day Tour and Picnic
From $35.90 (Price varies by group size )
, Feb 2020
A great day out with an excellent guide. Gonsalvo provided interesting information about the places we visited and Pablo, the driver took us safely through challenging terrain. Only issue is that it would be good if Viator had provided advice about the additional charge as we were under the impression that when we bought the ticket, that was it and not to be told that we had to pay extra on the day.
See the source of Santiago's drinking water in the Andes
, Feb 2020
Overall a very good tour. We saw the headwaters of the Maipo River, which is the source of drinking water for the city of Santiago. But we were charged an additional five thousand pesos per person to enter the headwaters area, which was not disclosed in the booking. Be forewarned that thebooking price is not all inclusive

Private Transfer from Santiago Airport to Santiago
From $24.90 (Price varies by group size )
Airport Pickup Smooth and Easy
, Feb 2020
We had a great experience with our driver in Santiago. He contacted us prior to arrival to confirm, picked us up at the airport as prearranged and provided interesting information along the way to the hotel. We were very pleased with the service we received. I would highly recommend this contractor.
Excellent driver, but little English. We managed though. Difficult part was that she was at Door #4. But customs exit was at Door #3. Very crowded and small arrivals with way too many people. Good thing I saw her sign as we went by Door #4. All was well after that.

Private Shore Excursion to Coyhaique National Reserve from Puerto Chacabuco
From $276.03 (Price varies by group size )
Beautiful and Picturesque
, Jan 2020
Upon arrival at the port, our guide was quickly found and off we went for a great tour of the National Reserve and the surrounding area. Our guide was very informative and eager to share information. On the drive to the reserve, we made several short stops and the scenery during the drive was breathtaking. Some of the most beautiful pictures I took on this trip were out the window as we drove, so make sure you have your camera ready. The ship was in Puerto Chacabuco for a shorter time period than expected so the tour was a little rushed. For those visiting Puerto Chacabuco on a cruise ship, make sure you have something booked. There is nothing within walking distance of the port and the nearest town requires a taxi ride and there's not much there for a tourist.
Discover the rugged scenery and fascinating history of the region around Chile’s Coyhaique National Reserve during this 4.5-hour private shore excursion. After explore Puerto Aysén, one of the region’s biggest cities, you’ll travel along the scenic banks of Río Simpson, visit the area’s museum, and finish with an included picnic lunch of Patagonian foods and great views.
First of all price was $133 for 2 not $100. Taken many viatours and frankly this was not worth the price. Guide and driver were fine but you are driven to places you can do easily on your own for far less. Maybe at $25 pp it would be ok. Disappointing.
Experience Santiago with this small-group, guided, multi-stop, full-day tour that includes transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle between stops. Learn about the city’s origin story, the military coup of 1973, and modern-day life. Visit places like the Metropolitan Cathedral of Santiago, La Moneda, and Plaza de Armas. Wander in modern and bohemian neighbourhoods and stop at an equestrian club.
Premium Concha y Toro Winery Tour with Wine and Cheese Tastings from Santiago
From $63.90 (Price varies by group size )
, Feb 2020
Everything about this tour was excellent, it was the first winery I’ve visited where they had a wide variety of grapes growing for visitors to sample straight from the vines. The 4 premier wines paired with cheeses were fabulous; I can highly recommend it!
We were picked up by our MTO lady guide and driver from our hotel in Providencia and had a very interesting ride out to Concha Y Toro. The guide was informative and we discussed life in Chile and the history of the areas we passed.Followed by a great tour of the Winery with tastings topped off with a session with a sommelier learning the nature and taste of the wines the company produces. We returned home with a few excallent bottles!

Puerto Varas to Bariloche Andean Lakes Crossing with Optional Return
Stunning scenery and admirably slick operations!
, Dec 2019
This was a stunningly beautiful trip, in some ways it's positives were undersold!
We did not know before we checked in, that all of our luggage from beginning to end, would be taken care of. I had envisaged that the day would involve a bit of a struggle for us, getting our 4 pieces of luggage (2 big cases ans 2 small cabin-sized bags) on and off of buses and boats. As we are both in our sixties, i was rather dreading that aspect of the journey! However, when we arrived at the pick-up point, our bags were taken from us, tagged, and then returned to us at the end of the trip, when we arrived at our hotel - wonderful! All we had to do was to relax, enjoy the scenery & take photos!
The other thing to emphasize is that, in doing this trip, you also get to cover excursions which are also sold separately in Puerto Varas (probably also in Bariloche)....so make sure you don't double-book!
For example, Petrohue Falls, Puella (you are here for 3 hrs so have time to do an 'activity' as well as have lunch - activities on offer are horse-riding, rafting, zipwire, 4WD across rivers/lakes & all of these cost extra. Puella is very beautiful & you can just go for a walk, which costs nothing. Some people stay overnight at Puella & although we didn't do this, it looked to me an attractive option spending more time in this beautiful place. Natura hotel looked, from outside, to be a v nice hotel & it has a proper restaurant (where you can have a 'proper' lunch, if you want. Otherwise, the other hotel has a comfortable bar/restauant for casual drinks & snacks ( the basket of deep-fried prawns was very nice with cold beers!)
All buses & boats were very comfortable - some sections more crowded than others, as we joined others going on specific excursions to the places we passed through. I was very impressed how it aĺl worked section by section like clockwork, and to time....we did not have to wait for long for any connection. There was a guide aĺlocated to each section & they did their job well, with good humour, and giving out lots of interesting information, answering questions etc. We arrived in Bariloche about 20.30 hrs.
Other suggestions - take a few snacks & water/drinks with you, for the journey - (but remember if you are going the other way from Argentina into Chile, that you can't take food into Chile .)
Remember to have your passports (and, if coming from Chile, your PDI paper) to hand (& not in checked bags!)
It's a wonderful trip ...one you'll remember!!
What an experience!! This was an incredible experience, the views on the Andean Lakes Crossing were just beautiful!! Very well organized and worth every penny of it. We took 4 buses and 3 boats in order to complete the crossing from Pto. Varas to Bariloche, all the tour directors were wonderful and we were even dropped off at our hotel in Bariloche. Highly recommend it!!

See the snow-specked volcanoes and mirrored lakes of the Andes Mountains and cruise over the shimmering surface of Todos los Santos, Felix Frias and Nahuel Huapi lakes. Full-Day Tour to Torres del Paine National Park from Puerto Natales(First Class)
From $98.20 (Price varies by group size )
Efficient overview of the park
Ana Bertha E
, Dec 2019
The tour included the main sites of the park, in a confortable mini-bus and enthusiastic service. If you have limited time to visit Torres del Paine, this would be the best way to get to get amazing views. The highlight of the trip was the Gray Lake hike (light, 1Hr); even though it was raining, the view was amazing. I wish there was an opportunity add another mini-hike to experience the park a bit more.
If you only have a day to spare, you can explore the highlights of Torres del Paine National Park on this full-day guided tour from Puerto Natales. Skip the hassle of arranging transport and get picked up directly from your hotel. Enjoy panoramic views across the park, beautiful lakes, and the distinctive granite peaks that give the park its name.

Enjoyable day in Vaparaiso
, Feb 2020
Guide Willy was knowledgeable and funny. He pointed out landmarks with commentary from Santiago to Valaparaiso and Vina del Mar. Very accommodating and stuck to schedule to maximize visiting as many places as possible
It was a convenient and easy way to checkout Valparaiso and Vina del Mar and our guide was personable, making this a pleasant trip. The walk around the beautiful neighborhood for Valparaiso was great thigh a bit rushed.
Valparaiso is a very interesting destination with a great history and is very picturesque. Vina del mar is more like a summer holiday destination. Our tour leader was excellent. The transport was modern and clean.
