The Veado Verde / Green Deer invites you to live an experience in ancient Roman lands. Learn about Roman habits and traditions so deeply rooted in and around the ruins of Conimbriga. The ruins of the quasi-imperial Conimbriga with its fountains House and its wonderful garden scenes, mythological passages, seasons, monsters, birds and sea animals. will be the starting point of a hike through the Mouros River valley. We will visit the waterfall where the romans bathed and will do much of the route on the banks of the same river. We will also pass by a small village at the base of Sicó Mountain. With an approximate duration of 3H, we will discover one of the few water points on the surface in the Lagoons of Arrimal. These support a huge number of species of plants and animals that find the ideal place to grow here. We will find abandoned windmills, the wells and cisterns show the need for humanity in the collection and preservation of a high-value resource, water. Ecopista marks the use of the old train line that used to transport coal from the Bezerra mines. We will ascend to the top of the mountain by roads that take us to places with fantastic views over the coast. If we are lucky we will see the ocean and identify the Berlengas Islands. The “Arco da Memória” marks the limit of the Coutos de Alcobaça and the beginning of the lands of the King. It is the memory of the History of Portugal here celebrated in a building of “Arco triumphal” style.

The Bussaco National Forest currently occupies about 105 hectares of the Bussaco Range and has one of the best dendrological collections in Europe, with about 250 species of trees and shrubs with remarkable specimens. It is one of the National Treasures richest in natural, architectural and cultural heritage. The routes outlined explore the natural and built heritage of the Bussaco National Forest. The Roman Empire had a tremendous weight in our culture and evidence of this can be found a little everywhere in the Sicó area. In this adventure we will discover the complex of Roman ruins of Conímbriga where you can contemplate the architectural capacity of the Roman people and the way they lived. From here we will head towards another "ex-libbris" of this region, the Casmilo Buracas, majestic geological formations that were once complexes of subterranean caves that are now exposed to the surface. Finally we will see remnants of a structure that was used to defend attacks such as the Castelo of the Germanello and another example of the genius and ingenuity of the Roman people, the Castellum de Alcabideque. Serra da Lousã is known for its "magical villages" of schist but it is not only its stone houses that are magical. This off-road tour will take you to the discovery of its oak, chestnut and pine forests where noble creatures and magical silhouettes inhabit the Deer. Among the forests where these majestic beings inhabit we will also take you to observe and know smaller species, but no less important for the ecosystem, which gave us their unique colors and look… To end this adventure we could not miss visiting one of the most beautiful schist villages of our Serra da Lousã, Gondramaz, and the beautiful Quelhas river with its riparian galleries. After pick you up at your hotel in Coimbra, we will go by van to Serra da Lousã. We will visit the Castle of Arouce and the river beach of Nossa Senhora da Piedade, located just minutes from the castle. There, we will see the Roman bridge and have a perfect view of the entire structure of the castle of Arouce. Then, we will go to the Schist Villages, a group of small shepherds' villages scattered throughout the mountains. The village of Cerdeira, with its chapel, a wooden bridge next to the fountain and its houses perfectly integrated into the landscape, thanks to the schist stone that was used in its construction. We will pass through the village of Candal to go through its narrow streets and in Talasnal we enjoy one of the best panoramic views of the Serra de Lousã. Common to all villages, we will get lost among shale houses, oaks, cork trees, narrow alleys, streets and small trails. We will return to the hotel in Coimbra after a visit like a trip to our rural ancestor.

After pick up the hotel in Coimbra, we drive to the place where the activity begins, Praia da Nazare. We also visit the Praia do Norte to visualize the giant wave and from the Sitio we start the cycling journey. It is about 50 kilometers separate Nazare to Fatima on a mixed route of beach, mountain, rock, sand and spectacular views. Stops at the Ecopista and in the coal caves, a mandatory visit to the magnificent Fórnea (a unique geological formation, with an impressive view), the "Jurassic Beach" (about 30 km from the current coast line, we discover traces of sea creatures that lived in a distant past). Algares and Lapas, typical geological features of Carso, give us a different view, from the interior of the Earth to the Sky. A trip to Serras de Aire e Candeeiros Nature Park is certainly not complete without visiting the "Dinosaur Footprints".
