Straddling three branches of the Andes, with two coasts and a blanket of jungle on either side, Colombia may not seem like an easy country in which to get around by bus, and historically, it wasn’t. Now, however, with better roadways, new tunnels, and increased security, bus travel in Colombia has never been easier. Every city and town of note in the country has a central bus station, with several companies offering inexpensive scheduled services throughout the country, and even to neighboring Ecuador and Venezuela. All bus fares are quoted in Colombian pesos.
