Take a guided 90-minute walking tour to learn about Medina Azahara’s fascinating history and see remnants of mosques, ceremonial halls, palaces and workshops. We loved our guide for the Mezquita. She was in tune with the interests and perspectives of our group, and we felt like friends by the end! There's no replacement for the personal touch of someone with a genuine love for the history of the place.
All may know beforehand the beauty of this great Mosque Cathedral but still be in awe when you witness with your own eyes. The only bit you may forget is a good guide to bring to life it's history and we would thoroughly recommend Raul who was locally born and a great communicator in English.
Our guide was ok, but it was impossible to understand his comments and presentation. With 50 people in our tour, we often could not see him. He continually referenced a very small 5-8” foldout of the mosque, which we could not always see. He did not have a flag or anything to allow us to follow him easily. This tour would have been ok with 25 or fewer folks, but was disappointing with 50. Why Viatour allowed so many to signup is a mystery.

The official Cordoba tours is actually 3 tours linked together: 1. Visit to Alcazar, 2. Visit to the Jewish quarter, 3. Mezquita. We took the whole tour, but were accompanied by different participants. Same guide though. Very knowledgeable and very professional. There were little 5 minutes stops between the 3, so guestes could depart or come into the group. I found it a very compact tour to find out the most important aspect of the main Cordoba monuments. We would have missed so much if we would have gone only on our own. Highly recommended!
We visited the Alcazar, Mosque/Cathedral, and Jewish Quarter/Synagogue on this tour of Cordoba. Our tour was split up between a morning and afternoon tour, but it worked out very well. Both our tour guides were excellent, especially the young lady in the afternoon. Highly recommend this tour. The only disappointment was the Jewish Synagogue in Cordoba is only a small one room medieval building. We were envisioning a huge beautiful, still in use, synagogue. But the rest of the Jewish Quarter was very interesting and worth seeing.
See the most important monuments of Córdoba with a guide who shares commentary about the city. Visit landmarks such as the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, the historic Synagogue, and the Mosque-Cathedral (Mezquita), and hear about the influences of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish cultures on the the architecture and history of Cordoba. Your tour includes entrance tickets to the monuments, and headphones to hear your guide.
Feel the fiery passion of a flamenco performance in Cordoba’s Tablao el Cardenal during a spectacular show in the historical center of the city. Head to the former site of an archbishop’s palace and take a seat in the ambient venue to watch a talented troupe of dancers perform a range of flamenco styles live on stage. Marvel at the agility and skill of the performers as you watch fast-paced choreography and feisty emotions unravel before your eyes. Sip a complimentary drink while clapping along to the undulating rhythm of the music.
Arabian Baths Experience at Cordoba’s Hammam Al Ándalus
Relaxing and atmospheric oasis
, Nov 2019
We loved complementing our exploration of the Muslim history of Spain with this authentic hammam experience. The candlelight, soft Arabic music, scented oils, stunning architecture, and friendly staff transported us to a different time and place! A fantastic way to offset the stress of traveling.
This was my first spa experience in Spain and it was very interesting. The baths embodied a Moorish theme with its arabesques and multi-colored geometric tiles. It was very interesting experience, because throughout the beaches in Spain, nudity is accepted as natural and the norm, but apparently not in the spas. Nudity is normal in the spas in the United States, but I was surprised that I was required to wear a swim suit at this spa. Nonetheless, I received a 15 minute relaxing massage from Sophia. The waters were infused with incense, which made it even more tranquil. I highly recommend this Moorish bath experience.
Lose yourself in the relaxing resplendence of Cordoba’s Hammam Al Ándalus, alluring Arabian baths located in a subterranean cistern beneath the city. Enjoy the Arabian opulence as you stroll through candle-lit walkways to soothing baths, aromatic steam rooms and thermal pools. Indulge with a massage from an expertly trained masseuse, or upgrade to a longer massage and exfoliating body scrub. Succumb to serenity in the tranquil haven of Hammam Al Ándalus for a truly restful and rejuvenating experience.

We were so happy with the Mosque Cathedral Tour in Cordoba - Angel our guide has excellent english and he made the information engaging and interesting with some nice humour as well. I really recommend that visitors do a guided tour, there is so much to know about this amazing structure and its incredible history and evolution. A true gem. The Alcazar doesn't need a guide, as lovely as it is, but the Mezquite really does.

We loved this short tour with "James" he was knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour provided a good look at the town and allowed us to orientate ourselves. My ticket stated 0945. After waiting 15 minutes, I called the company and they said that the tour starts at 1100. I had to preoccupy myself...eventually I opted for a quick horse drawn tour of Cordoba (a blessing in disguise). The tour group included approximately 20 people. The history and briefings of the architecture were very interesting, but seeing the structure itself is inexplicable. to experience the structure's majestic power, one just has to explore it's interior. The structure itself is beautiful beyond description. The tour itself was average...
We will skip the huge tail of the monument with our quick ticket and we will make a guided tour that you will never forget. The visit of the Mosque-Cathedral is a unique experience that will transfer you to the times of the ancient caliphate and its influence on the culture of the medieval era, while offering us the legacy of the city's cathedral. We will have almost an hour and a half visit to not miss a detail.
Our guide was Angel and he really knew his stuff well. I greatly appreciated his help going down the few stairs that do not have hand rails by extending his arm. The Cordoba monuments are impressive by themselves, but Angel’s knowledge greatly enhanced the experience. Highly recommended. We did pass a bust of Seneca without comment. As Cordoba is his birthplace, I thought Seneca at least deserved mention. I am still amazed that I stood in an inquisition court room. Well done!

José is the guy. Knowledgeable and attentive, and provided the best balance between the expected tourist attraction and local culture, and the unexpected dive into history, heritage, and exclusive non-touristy gems. He catered the tour to the group's interests and treated us all like we were his friends and family. Highly highly recommend--you will not be disappointed! Pro tip: never call jamón, bacon :P Gracias José!!!
Best three hours! Jose is an amazing host and guide. He does a fabulous job explaining Córdoba so you are prepared for the rest of your stay here. He is also extremely helpful with recommendations and questions you might have about his city. I highly recommend!
I enjoyed the Terrace and Tapas tour but felt the description was misleading. In the what's included section, it listed what was to be included in terms of tapas, but then had a bullet that said "dinner". There was no dinner. We went to three locations - the first two were spectacular and the third a typical restaurant along the river. Our guide was engaging and knowledgeable, but I didn't think the limited wine and tapas made the tour worth the price.

Cordoba: Alcázar Reyes Cristianos Guided Tour with Tickets & Priority Access
Great tour of Alcazar and Mosque
, Sep 2019
We came by train from Seville to Cordoba and just got to the meeting point with about 30 seconds to spare. Our guide for Alcazar ended up also doing the afternoon Mosque and Jewish Quarter tour, so we stuck together for about 3 hours. English was good, with plenty of information, but not too much. Our only issue was we had to drop out a little early because of a train to Madrid. I would definitely recommend both these tours.
It's totally worth the visit, but I suggest to pay the ticket there, is only 5 euros per person. I paid this tour, got a bit late because I had some trouble finding the entrance and just lost +30€, so I didn't did the tour and had to pay again for the tickets. 5€ per person is very inexpensive for the beauties of this place. Totally recommend.
