During Advent, our award winning walking tour of Dresden's historic city centre will include a visit to one of Dresden’s Christmas markets! The answers to these and many more questions will be given as we walk around the famous sites, including the Royal Palace, the Semper Opera, the Frauenkirche and the Zwinger. Dresden is also home to Germany’s oldest Christmas Market and the Stollen, a special Christmas cake with a centuries-old tradition. You will also encounter Christmas inventions from Saxony, like the Nutcracker or the Moravian Star. The tour includes a small Christmas treat.

In 1434 Dresden issued the first permit for a food market on Christmas Eve, marking the very beginning of the Christmas Market tradition in Germany.
