It was wet and windy but totally atmospheric... so Scotland.
We had lots of places to ourselves. Travelling in Scotland in the winter is not for the faint hearted but I feel we were able to get a true Scottish experience through the commentary of our fantastic guide ... who also provided Scottish music for our journey. Loved being in the countryside. The Isle of Skye is so beautiful.
Great tour which gave us a true Scottish experience of the highlands. Paul G, our guide was excellent, and he made the trip come alive for us. He packed in a lot of things to do in the three days and yet somehow kept it very relaxed and at the sensible pace. He is very articulate in his explanations and related well with a diverse group. Overall a great tour, great guide.

Loch Ness, Glencoe and the Highlands Small-Group Day Tour from Edinburgh
Amazing day :)
, Feb 2020
Easy check-in and friendly staff. Our guide for the day, Rov.. oh no sorry :P SEAN, was very very a safe driver, nice, funny, and knew SO MUCH about so many subjects related to Scotland (from geology to Harry Potter, via animal kingdoms, legends and History of course, his fav subject) that he made this very long day very pleasurable. In between the statutory stops, he stopped for photos in some gorgeous places! Thank You Sean, I had dreamt of seeing the highlands for so long, you made it memorable ! Will travel again with Rabbies next time :D
Great day with lots of laughter and beautiful views!
, Feb 2020
We had Jim as our tour guide and he really made our day with great stories, historical notes and a very good mood! Would recommend to anyone going to the highlands! Ps! The highlands are to prefer before Loch Ness.

3-Day Isle of Skye and Scottish Highlands Tour from Edinburgh, Including "Hogwarts Express" Ride
The best guide EVER
, Sep 2019
A great tour with a good variety of stops and sights. The scenery was amazing, the guesthouse comfortable and the sights worth seeing. The best aspect of our tour was our driver/guide Caitlin. Her enthusiasm, knowledge, stories and story telling ability were brilliant and she interspersed her narrative with music that fitted the history or place. She was without doubt the best guide I have ever had on a tour and her driving ability astounded us all.
My husband and I booked this tour from Edinburgh in August, while visiting Scotland for our 10 year anniversary. This was the perfect break from the fringe festival, to see the highlands and explore Skye. I had always wanted to visit and found Yvonne the perfect guide- sharing regional stories/folklore, recommendations for our solo downtime, and her impressive driving skills. The b&b we stayed at in Portree (Rosedale) was perfect. Loved the staff, view, food, and ambiance. The train ride was thrilling. We lucked out with sun for most outings to take in the stunning scenery, but well prepared for the occasional shower...part of the charm to experience so many seasons in 1 day. Overall, would highly recommend this trip and will cherish the thoughtful anniversary card we received from Yvonne.
Venture to the Scottish Highlands and spend two nights on the Isle of Skye, including a steam train ride on The Jacobite of the West Highland Railway Line — aka the ‘Hogwarts Express’ of Harry Potter fame. This 3-day guided trip from Edinburgh takes you through Cairngorms National Park to regional highlights such as the Old Man of Storr and the Cuillin Mountains. Visit Eilean Donan Castle, ride the ferry to Mallaig and stop at the legendary Loch Ness. Enjoy daily breakfasts during your hotel or B&B stay in Portree.
Our time spent with Alan was a fantastic way to see the best that Edinburgh Castle has to offer. From the checkin point to the short walk to the Castle Alan shared wonderful information about the history of Edinburgh.
"Australian David" was a good laugh and a great story teller, only improvement was that it could be slightly longer if we were to go into individual buildings once in the castle but I dont know about any restrictions or constraints.
Save valuable vacation time with skip-the-line access to Edinburgh Castle on this walking tour. Avoid hours of waiting in line and breeze right inside with your priority admission ticket. Then, listen to your guide's commentary about the Scottish landmark's history as you walk through one of Scotland's most famous landmarks.
This was a great tour, Scott was very informative and entertaining and clearly loved his job.
Blue sky appeared throughout the day but it did rain on and off, we were lucky that it wasn’t constant rain.
The views and scenery along the way are fantastic and well worth a look.
It does feel like a long time on the bus however.
Explore the stunning Scottish Highlands on a full-day excursion that includes Glencoe and Loch Ness. Set own from Edinburgh aboard a comfortable coach bus to experience some of the area's top sights and attractions. Tour Deanston Distillery and sample its whisky, learn the fascinating history of Glencoe—a village made modernly famous as a setting for 'James Bond' and 'Harry Potter' films—and opt to take a boat cruise upon iconic Loch Ness, keeping an eye out for the famous 'Nessie' as you go.
St Andrews & the Fishing Villages of Fife Small-Group Day Tour from Edinburgh
Amazing tour very useful information
, Dec 2019
Our too guide was more than fantasy telling us everything details during the way and make the journey enjoyable! The small villages on the way and the bridge was definitely something worth seeing! I high recommend it!
Excellent tour guide! Energetic, humorous, and informative. We loved exploring St. Andrews with the town square, ruins of the cathedral, and university. Added bonuses to our intent of just seeing the Old Course of St. Andrews. Plenty of time to walk about, enjoy a quick lunch of fish n chips, and shop at the golf shops. The small fishing village of Fife was also lovely with a quick coffee stop, bathroom break, and boutique shopping where we purchased a few newborn outfits for our baby.
We went on this trip with Roland from Rabbies. The bus was small but comfortable and he did an amazing job of pointing out sites and trying to recreate the atmosphere with voices, songs and music- honestly so funny! He was really helpful with recommendations at each stop. The stops themselves were wonderful- so beautiful each had something to do. St. Andrews is amazing whether or not you like golf
Travel from Edinburgh to St. Andrews and Fife on this day trip from Edinburgh. Cross the Forth Road Bridge into the Kingdom of Fife and pass by the coastal villages of East Neuk. Loch Ness and the Highlands Small Group Day Tour from Edinburgh
, Feb 2020
The tour was fantastic! Our guide, Graham, was knowledgeable and engaging, and went out of his way to try and personalise and maximise our experience, including by making additional unexpected stops to see wildlife and scenery. Highly recommend!
The absolute BEST tour!!! Graham was our tour guide and driver, and he was absolutely amazing! This was the first tour of our total of four during our 10-day trip to the UK & Ireland, and it still stands out to me as the best of the lot.
Not only would the sites be hard to beat, simply because they're so absolutely gorgeous (Loch Ness & the Highlands says it all!), but everything about our tour experience was simply incredible.
Graham had so much information to share with us, but he wasn't overwhelming in his delivery. He was funny without being an annoying chatterbox, and he was just so pleasant. Additionally, we were travelling on a day in which a potentially bad storm was making its way through Scotland, and he was so conscientious about making sure we got to every site, but also made it back to Edinburgh well ahead of the storm. He was so concerned with making sure that we all were aware that he wasn't trying to cut our tour short, and I just really appreciated how much he cared about our experience.
Even if he'd cut our tour short by hours, I would have still given him an excellent review - but the reality was that we made it back to Edinburgh only about 40 minutes earlier than we would have typically made it back. And we managed to avoid a dangerous storm, so I just really appreciated him.
I absolutely recommend this tour, and in particular, Graham :)
Uncover the mysteries of Loch Ness on an exciting day-trip from Edinburgh. Set out north along Scotland's West Coast to experience one of the country's most iconic lochs, best known for the fabled 'monster' said to reside deep within its waters. En route, pass some incredible sights, including the ruins of Linlithgow Palace, Ben Nevis―Britain's tallest mountain―and dramatic Highlands landscapes recognizable from films like 'Skyfall.' Your guide regales you with stories about the area, making for an exciting, informative―and if you're lucky, truly legendary―trip.
2-Day Jacobite Experience including the Hogwarts Express
Jacobite Experience - FANTASTIC!!!
, Nov 2019
Money well spent during our visit to Scotland! The guide, Steven, was great! He was full of information and facts that were very interesting and helpful during the tour as well as the rest of our time there! Would recommend this tour to anyone!!
This was one of the highlights of our trip. The train ride was beautiful. The town we visited was crowded at lunch and we could not find any restaurants with open tables, but besides that issue we really enjoyed the train ride. The scottish highlands were beautiful and seeing Loch Ness was the most beautiful place we have ever seen! Our tour guide on the bus tour was amazing! He was the best tour guide we have ever had!
Great sights! Fergie was a great guide, even helped me prepare for driving my rental car on the "wrong" side of the road. Was very helpful, informative, and entertainimg but the main attraction was the incredible train ride! AMAZING views and experience!
This 2-day heritage tour of the Scottish Highlands features historic locations linked to the Jacobite movement of 18th-century Scotland. Visit the village of Dunkeld, drive through Cairngorm National Park to Loch Ness, and stay overnight in Fort Augustus. You’ll ride to Mallaig aboard the Jacobite steam train, featured as the Hogwarts Express in the popular Harry Potter films. Along the way, hear tales of battles fought by the Jacobites — supporters of the exiled King James II.
Rosslyn Chapel and Hadrian's Wall Small Group Day Tour from Edinburgh
An exquisite day trip
, Jan 2020
This was by far our best tour in Scotland, with our tour guide Ian. Ian is super knowledgeable and very entertaining.
Of course, the sites are something else too! Rosslyn Chapel is a truly magical space and there's loads of historical information to take in. Hadrian's Wall/ Fort is another spectacular site that will take you right back as you can imagine the site at the time it was in use.
The tour itinerary was great and iain our guide/driver was amazing and helpful and knowledgeable, the only hinderance was the weather, it was rainy most of the day, and the wind was really bad. We (the 3 in my family) didn’t even risk the walk to hadrians wall because of the wind.
The tour was delightful. Our guide, Iain, was particularly fun and full of knowledge and insight. The trip was efficient and allowed sufficient time at each stop. The tour was intimate, with only 11 guests on the bus. Rosslyn Chapel was marvelous and the Wall was incredible. If traveling in Dec, I would recommend something to protect against the wind and rain.
Journey to the frontier of ancient Rome on this full-day tour of Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish borders from Edinburgh. First up is a tour of the 15th-century Rosslyn Chapel, famously featured in ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and renowned for its mysterious stone carvings and unique architecture. After lunch (not included), stop at Melrose Abbey, the burial site of King Robert the Bruce’s heart, and look out over the English border from Cheviot Hills, before walking along the UNESCO-listed Hadrian’s Wall.
Everything is good except the hotel for the first night
, Oct 2019
That is Royal Hotel. It's the worst hotel I have ever stayed. The room is super small, the quilt is dirty, the carpet is super old and dirty, and the switch for the heating is broken. Ir's too cold to Sleep. The reception gave me a Portal heater which ran one hour and closed automatically. You can hear the Walking steps in next Rooms and you can also hear the snoring in next room. Because of above reason, I need to deduct two points from the rating.
Except this, everything is good, the views are fantasty, the Driver is good. the other two Hotels are good. The Tourist guide is funny, even though I could not understand what he said most of the time, because he has Accent and English is not my mother language.
Our guide/driver was great, John McC. 5 days is too much, 3 days would be much better. We went 800 miles and a lot of it was on slow roads which was very scenic BUT a lot of hours driving.
Wonderful vistas, great waterfalls, historic places and only two good castles in 5 days.
Get a comprehensive look at Scotland during this 5-day journey through its rugged and rural landscapes. Travel through the Lowlands, Northern Highlands, West Coast, and the Isle of Skye, including a stop at Loch Ness and Eilean Donan Castle plus a seasonal railway ride on the Jacobite steam train. Enjoy overnight stays in Oban and Loch Ness, and a 2-night stay in Isle of Skye, with daily breakfast included
I don’t think I have ever enjoyed a tour as much as this one! We admired the beauty of Scotland and especially the Highlands with our final stop being Loch Ness. Exavier was our tour leader, a great person who seems to love what he is doing! I really cannot imagine him having another job and he is honesty great at it! He was giving us valuable info, making jokes, trying to do as much as possible for all of us to enjoy our journey the most. It wasn’t tiring with unnecessary historical facts, he was just telling us interesting things about Scotland, gossips, funny stories with a hint of history as much as needed! His pronunciation was very good so we clearly understood everything he was saying. Thank you Exavier, you were amazing and although we were very tired as we had a long night, we were struggling to keep our eyes open just not to miss your words! Sorry we were a little bit late on our last stop :) Tony was really great too, good and smooth driving. I totally recommend this tour to all of you!
Enjoy a unique experience visiting some of the most charming places in Scotland: Glencoe Valley, Ben Nevis, Great Glen and, of course, Loch Ness. This is the best value for money tour you can book in Scotland!
Outlander Adventure Small-Group Day Tour from Edinburgh
Best Day Ever
, Dec 2019
I a a HUGE fan and this tour DID NOT disappoint!! I didnt want it to end. my brain is fogged from all the fantastic highlander talk, I can't remember our guides name but he wore a kilt and had a beard! Anyhoot, he was so knowledgeable about Scotland, its history and Outlander! I recommend to anyone visiting AND who is an outlander fan!
I was really looking forward to this tour and it did not disappoint. From the Outlander themed music to Parkie's expertise on all things Outlander, it was amazing!! I also learned quite a bit about Scotland, that was a bonus! I still remember my one Gaelic phrase Parkie...Pach Mahon ;-)!! Thanks again for a wonderful day and an extra shout out to Rosario our fearless driver!! The trip was lovely!
Enjoyed this tour. The behind the scene places and castles where the filming took place were worth visiting. It was a very good tour thanks to our driver Ewan , who took the time to show us scenes from the show for every castle /places we visited. Ewan was also very knowledgeable on the history of Scotland. We learned a lot from him. He was very professional and friendly. Even if someone is not familiar with Outlander, the TV series, this tour is worth experiencing.
Attention “Outlander” fans: this tour was created just for you. Leave Edinburgh behind as you embark on an epic adventure to several sites from the popular television show. Visit Culross Palace (the fictional Cranesmuir), Doune Castle (Castle Leoch), Blackness Castle (Fort William), Midhope Castle (Jamie’s home), and Linlithgow Palace, the site of one of the series’ most intense scenes.
I traveled with my family. We were 4 adults. We were fortunate to have sunshine during our 3 day Isle of Skye and Highlands Tour and our driver , Nick was very good. He wasn't rushing us and was very informative and helpful . The scenery was fantastic and we toured so many areas. I would have given this a 5 star but our bed and breakfast place kept switching off the heater at night and it was cold..we did not appreciate that at all. Over all, we were very satisfied with the tour.
Please know that traveling off season was by far a wonderful experience with the tour we took to Isle of Skye for 3 days. Great Tour Driver and full of fun information and education. I have used this tour operator for more than one country and had good results.

Stirling Castle and Whisky Small Group Day Tour from Edinburgh
Great tour with a great guide.
, Feb 2020
Such a great tour. The meeting place was easy to find. The small group tours really are the way to go. They allow for more personalized and flexible tours. Our driver, Paul, was knowledge and friendly. He took us to a couple extra spots in addition to all the places in the description. It was a rainy but beautiful. The lunch spot was okay food but it was with good company. We had were given multiple photo stops. The distillery was interesting and the scotch was good. The castle was neat. We would definitely book with this company again and would definitely book with Paul again. Great guide.

Loch Lomond, Kelpies & Stirling Castle Small-Group Day Tour from Edinburgh
Amazing 1 Day Trip, must see!!
, Nov 2019
We had a blast with our tour guide Jim S.! Not only was he very knowledgeable, but he also was very funny and went above and beyond during this tour. He explained a lot of facts, imparted quite a few anecdotes with lots of humor, was very graceful and patient and was able to make a small group bus full of strangers all to sing one by one their own national anthem. We most definitely had a blast on this Rabbie's Tour and recommend to anyone who wants to visit Loch Lomond, the Kelpies or Stirling castle to just sign up on this. We will go back to this company to visit more of Scotland next time we go there again!
See Stirling Castle, the Kelpies monument, and Loch Lomond on this day trip from Edinburgh. Pass Linlithgow Palace on the way to the Kelpies, said to be the largest equine sculptures in the world. This small-group tour in a top-of-the-range, 16-seat Mercedes mini-coach is limited to 16 passengers for a memorable experience.
This is an interesting tour, but it makes for a VERY long day. We spent about eight hours on the bus which is to be expected. We covered a lot of area. It was a beautiful ride through Scotland. I do wish we would have booked a small group tour for this tour. The Urquhart castle was neat and the boat ride was fun. Loch ness and Glencoe are so beautiful. Driving to Inverness was not worth the extra time it took. It was just a short drive through the city. The meeting point was easy to find. Overall a good day through the countryside.
Our group of four agree that the Scottish Highlands is one of the most beautiful areas we've ever visited... and we went in winter. We will have to return in summer!
It's a long drive but the scenery is amazing and our tour guide (Patrick) was very informative. We learnt loads in terms of the areas history, geography and interesting trivia.
My wife and I were in Edinburgh for 5 nights and wanted an escape from the city. The bus tour was just that. Because it was January the sunlight was limited but we thoroughly enjoyed the time we had at Loch Ness. Our bus driver (Patrick D)was excellent.

4-Day Isle of Skye & West Highlands Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh
, Dec 2019
I was a little apprehensive to take a tour in the winter, but everything was wonderful! Our group was small, so that allowed for more flexibility to go and see more than expected. Our tour leader was amazing and shared so much love for such a beautiful country. Highly recommended! Best trip I’ve ever had.
Our guide, Stephan, made our 4 days in the Highlands and Isle of Skye very enjoyable. He did his very best to offset the terrible weather we encountered. We saw many beautiful sights that he brought to life with his very entertaining stories.
Immerse yourself in the majesty of northwest Scotland on a 4-day tour of the Highlands and the Isle of Skye from Edinburgh. In a small group, witness some of the world’s most dramatic scenery from spiny cliffs at Neist Point to must-see Scottish landmarks like Eilean Donan Castle and Loch Ness, and hear tragic tales such as the massacre of Glencoe. Three nights in 3-star lodging and daily breakfasts included.
Fantastic tour. Our bus driver and guide (David) grew up in the area and had interesting and funny tales to tell. They were filming a movie in Edinburgh and many streets were closed. No problem for David as he detoured us around the closures and was able to get us to all the sites listed on the itinerary. The tour was through Timberbush Tours. Can not say enough good things about our guide. Best shore trip on our 12 day cruise.
The tour guide was very pleasant but maybe less experienced than others. The Royal Yacht Brittania was a highlight. Edinbugh Castle was sooo crowded. Not enough stops for picture opportunities and the tour seemed a bit unorganized.
Experience the grandeur of Scotland’s brooding capital with a full-day shore excursion of Edinburgh. 2-Day Loch Ness and Inverness Small-Group Tour from Edinburgh
Amazing view of North Scotland!
, Dec 2019
As Outlander brought the city of Inverness and I picked this trip to see that famous city! And I was blown away with everything else on this trip. Going over the mountians and some small hiking trips was wonderful. While it was dark when we got to Inverness I can say I was there. But the way back was the highlight! Loch Ness was beautiful! The boat ride was perfect. Glencoe was beyond humbling. Our guide was extremely educated and stopped multipule times for pictures and bathrooms. Can't recommend enough.
This was hands-down one of the best small tours I have taken! Steven is great! He is passionate about what he does, and it shows! Great sense of humor, super knowledgeable about Scotland history, and US pop culture! The highlands were stunning, as were all our other stops along the way. We were always kept in the loop about everything we were seeing and doing, and I was very pleased with the chosen lodging!
I highly recommend this tour, and especially our guide Steven!
I had booked this trip as a birthday present for my girlfriend and we were both very happy with the experience. Our driver Keith was very knowledgable, entertaining and flexible. We saw breathtaking places of raw nature in the highlands and had lunch in cozy little towns along the way that usually offered amazing views as well. Upon arrival in Inverness on Saturday evening we were welcomed by our Bed and Breakfast host, Angela who was incredibly accomodating and sweet. She sorted us out with a cell phone charger adapter for my girlfriend and recommended us a pub to have dinner which we were very happy with. The breakfast was very good and both traditional Scottish and a lighter version with fruits and a crossaint was offered. We were lucky with the weather this weekend and Keith drove us to spots that offered spectacular views on the way down on Sunday.

Leave the travel planning and booking to the experts with this inclusive five-day tour that includes four nights’ accommodation and transportation (including ferry crossings). All you need to do is relax and soak up the scenery.
It's not the tour operators fault but the whole tour was very disappointing as the things to see are so different to tv show, the driver Stuart was very helpful and knew a lot about history which we enjoyed, think lallybroch could have been included as there was no problem to park up the road, we did that by ourselves and that was the best of the lot. Just thing all a rip off re tv show.
What an incredible time we had on the Outlander Tour with our tour guide, Paul. His knowledge of Scottish history was astonishing as he told us stories of Jacobites, kilts, Tartans, highland weaponry and more. Paul was even able to provide more insight to us about our personal ancestry and clan. He is a wonderful story teller and we were on the edge of our seats listening as he spoke. The tour took us to some great places that can easily be identified from the Outlander series. What a treat! High suggested if you are an outlander fan!
