1) Breathtaking - had many "is this real life?" moments!
2) Well worth the price, experience of a lifetime!!!
3) Dress warm, even in New Zealand "Summer"
4) Hopefully you get lucky with weather like we did, it was the only day of the week that wasn't rainy (they cancel the flights if the weather is bad)
5) Shoutout to Pilot Tom!!
This was a spectacular experience well worth the money! From pick up to drop off the whole operation was very well organised and executed. The staff at Air Milford were fantastic and our pilot was experienced, calm and very informative. The Southern Discoveries cruise was great and the commentary on the boat was very informative. We gig to go very up close and personal with a massive waterfall and saw some NZ fur seals on the rocks. The flight was absolutely breathtaking and I overcame my fear of light planes! My advice: do it!!!

Cruise with perfect scenery - no complaints. Check-in was easy at the Southern Discoveries counter on the right side. Factor extra time (~10 mins) to walk from carpark to wharf. Captain was humorous with commentaries. Lunch onboard was a simple packed lunch with sandwiches, fruits, yoghurt and cookie. Finale was the waterfall on deck.
We had an amazing time in the Sounds! The crew were insightful and clearly enjoy what they do! We are from NZ, so it was incredible to see our country from this perspective and learn more about our own piece of paradise :-) EVERYONE enjoyed themselves

Although the weather was overcast, this did not reduce our enjoyment of this trip. We liked the smaller numbers on board enabling everyone who wanted to take photographs to do so. Interesting commentary: we learned new facts about the terrain.

Cruise Milford NZ Small Boutique Cruise Experience
Stunning despite bad weather!
, Jan 2020
We got onto the cruise although the weather was super bad and rainy. The very friendly crew made it a great experience anyhow and we enjoyed the trip. The rain had the advantage that we saw loads of huge waterfalls and the scenery was kind of mystical. Thanks to the fact that this was a boutique cruise it was not as full as all the other boats and we always had nice views and enough space to take pictures and move around. Thank you Cruise Milford!

We took our tour from Te Anau which made the travel time in the bus shorter. Our driver was great giving us stops to enjoy the beautiful scenery and lots of history. Cruise into Milford Sound was jaw dropping. A great day.
Milford Sounds is by far the best place that we have visited in New Zealand. We were lucky enough to be visiting Milford sounds after rain as a result, there were a number of waterfalls with plenty of water. We enjoyed the bus drive as well as cruise. Thanks to JUCY for a great experience.

The rain made for great waterfalls..but
, Dec 2019
Constant rain in Queenstown made for a less pleasant visit and journey to Milford Sound. However the fast flowing rivers and the waterfalls were magnificent. All arrangements went smoothly and our driver allowed us several stops along the way. Not sure whether it would be better or not in nicer weather, but enjoyed it anyway.

Milford Sound Nature Cruise from Queenstown, Te Anau or Milford Sound
, Jan 2020
Fabulous trip. Take a jacket, it can be cold even in summer. Only issue, there is only one road in and one road out. There was an accident in the tunnel so our tour couldn’t get out. We opted for the flight back to Queenstown. Best option! I didn’t find our tour guide Deano knowledgeable but when we were stranded at Milford Sound, he was so experienced and knew what to do.
Free taxi brought us to meeting point from hotel. Easy check in process. Friendly, kind, and safe tour bus driver. Comfortable bus-don’t forget to pack a lunch to save some $$! Boat allowed for indoor/outdoor experience per customer
preference-but go outside! And dress for wind/cold on the water.

Milford Sound Scenic Cruise from Queenstown, Te Anau or Milford Sound
Mildford Sound Day Tip from Queenstown
, Jan 2020
The Milford Sound Day trip from Queenstown with Real Journeys was a great experience! Mike, our tour guide did a great job of explaining the geography of the various regions, and made the trip an enjoyable experience. Fiorland National Park and Milford Sound were gorgeous....some of the nicest scenery I have ever laid eyes on. The tour had various stops along they way for photo opportunities. We also made several stops along the way for restroom breaks, as the trip from Queenstown to Milford Sound takes about 4 hours one way on the bus. If you are prone to motion sickness, I suggest bringing some Dramamine, or similar motion sickness pills, as the road is windy most of the way there.
All around great experience!!
