Early departure to avoid big groupsWe head straight up to Pico do Areiro, the third highest peak of the island, 1818m above sea levelCoffee stop at the peak for supplies/food and water for the walk (optional extra, not included in price)This is a difficult hike, in the sense that there are many inclines and declines in the form of steps.The walk is roughly 11km long, between altitudes of 1542m and 1862m above sea level.We end in Achada do Teixiera, where the minivan will be waiting for us and make our way down to SantanaWe end with a local poncha/coffee/tea stop
