Spread out over 26 acres, Schlitterbahn Galveston is one of Texas’s largest waterparks. The park is known for its multiple, long rivers, which are all interconnected and flow through the grounds. Rides, pools, and splash zones are located both outdoors and indoors, making the park uniquely not limited to hot summer months (it’s one of few open year-round.) The indoor children’s areas, water slides, pool, wave river, surfing wave, and beach area waters are all heated.
Outdoors you’ll find everything from adventurous aquatic slides to relaxing cabanas with private lounge chairs and table service available — so you’re able to pick your pace and level of sun and shade. For those seeking greater thrills, the park has the tallest water coaster in the world. There’s also a fun gondola zip line that flies above the park. With more than 30 total attractions, Schlitterbahn Galveston has recognized as a top indoor water park in the country.
Open part of every month of the year, Schlitterbahn Galveston’s hours are from 10 am to 8 pm (5 pm during winter season.) To get there from Houston, drive on the I-45 South and exit at 61st Street. General admission is $50.99 for adults and $38.99 for children. Various meal options are available, though guests are also able to bring in their own food. Parking is free, and inner tube rentals are included in the admission price.
