Beaches on Germany’s Baltic Coast

Think of Germany and you may envision the Black Forest, or the castles of the Romantic Road, the great cities of Berlin or Munich or the massive beer steins of Oktoberfest. You probably don’t picture the 2,000 kilometers of sandy beaches that line Germany’s northern Baltic Coast.  But as it turns out, Germany’s beaches and islands are perfect for catching some summer sun, and it seems the Germans love nothing more than some serious beach time, even if the water can be a bit chilly (around 65° Fahrenheit).
