The Basics

Hidden away among the wooded valleys of the Campsie Fells, Glengoyne Distillery is celebrated for both its scenic location. Choose from a number of tours and tastings, which usually give you the chance to peek into the legendary Warehouse No.1, take a Malt Master tour, or indulge in a whisky tasting masterclass.

Many tours combine a visit to Glengoyne with time in Loch Lomond. Opting for an excursion means that you don’t have to worry about driving after indulging in a few drams of whisky, as Scotland has particularly strict drink driving laws.

Stirling Castle was amazing! Loch Lomond was nice but really just another lake. The Glengoyne Distillery was informative and interesting, situated in the hills of the Lowlands.

Perfect day out of Edinburgh. Great stops and Glengoyne is a wonderful small distillery to visit. Lots of information from our lovely tourguide John (or Lord John that he wanted us to call him:))

Loch Lomond, Stirling, and Glengoyne Distillery Tour from Edinburgh
This tour has something for everyone. A fantastic castle with beautiful views of Scotland, a cute village for lunch, stunning scenery with Loch Lomond and a really interesting tour of whisky making and tasting. All brought together by our tour guide (Josh) with his great humor, interesting stories and smatterings of history and “useless facts” that could win you a pub quiz :)

The driver (Rory) was great, told stories and made an extra stop at the bridges for photos. He kept us on track even though we had a couple stops take long.Sterling castle is less crowded than Edinburgh and we had plenty of time. Loch lomand is beautiful and the distillery was perfect!!

Loch Lomond, Stirling, and Glengoyne Distillery Tour from Edinburgh
This is a comprehensive trip for those who'd want to capture the essence of Scotland with limited time. Stirling Castle was impressive and the nice downhill walk to Stirling Town was lovely. Loch Lomond cruise was fantastic with so many historic buildings dotting the lake banks but a heavy downpour dampened our spirits a little bit. Glengoyne Distillery completed a fantastic tour. Willy was a great guide.

Loch Lomond, Stirling, and Glengoyne Distillery Tour from Edinburgh
Our driver Gary was a recent hire and did a great job. The tour was well paced for all participants. I would have preferred a docent or guide in some places but we attached ourselves to a random group. The Glengoy e distillery was a treat, both from the whisky and our hosts. Humor and love of country were evident from everyone.. Highly recommended!

Central pickup. Guide was good- fun and informative. The Loch visit was kind of lacklustre. Enjoyed Stirling Castle and the Distillery tour.

Loch Lomond, Stirling, and Glengoyne Distillery Tour from Edinburgh
Your guide Barney was great! He was full of fun facts and kept the drive very interesting. The time spent at each of the stops was the perfect amount. And ending with the very interesting whiskey tour topped off the day perfectly. We found it very refreshing to get out of the City and see the countryside for awhile. Well worth the money!
