Unlike the famous South Rim and atmospheric North Rim, Grand Canyon West is not part of the Grand Canyon National Park—in fact, it’s five hours away and is owned and operated by the Hualapai Tribe (since it’s on the Haulapai Native American Reservation). It’s a little over a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Las Vegas. It’s open year-round and is usually less crowded than the Grand Canyon’s South Rim, but there are still often crowds during midday. There are no limits to the number of visitors that can come per day, but you do need to register for overnight stays.
