Cruising Ha Long Bay on a Junk Boat

By John Reality, Cambodia, December 2012

No reviews, be the first!

Often included in informal lists of the world’s greatest natural wonders, Ha Long Bay’s karst formations make it a fantastic place to visit for travelers looking to devote a considerable amount of time on the water.

Islands in the area include Cat Ba—home of the endangered Cat Ba langur, a national park, and numerous caves (keep in mind that this is the most popular destination in Ha Long Bay for tourists)—Ban Sen, a thickly forested, practically uninhabited island, Quan Lạn, an outlying island with some very beautiful beaches, Van Don, a large island with a sizable population, and many others.
