Day Trip to Luxor from Hurghada with Hotel Pickup and Lunch
Long trip but worth it
, Feb 2020
Long trip, but absolutely worth it. Our guide was very passionate about his job. The day was packed with interesting sites and he told us a lot about the Egyptian culture and history. Boat trip was not included, we paid 100 Egyptian pounds pp. Lunch was nice and there was enough food. Bring something for the long ride (4,5-5 hours one way Hurghada - Luxor by microbus).
We had a really good guide, who gave us loads of information and took us to all the good spots. Luxor was amazing and we got to see everything as advertised. But they also took us to shops (alabaster and papyrus factory and shop) which wasn’t in the itinerary and the prices there were way high. Also be aware there might be small children on the trip which doesn’t really make sense being a historical tour. Overall still satisfied with the tour for the price (:
Discover Luxor’s ancient tombs and temples on a full-day trip from Hurghada that explores highlights on the east and west banks of the Nile. Make the journey from Hurghada to Luxor in the comfort of a climate-controlled minivan, then see the Colossi of Memnon, the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the magnificent Temple of Karnak, among the largest religious structures in the world. By pre-booking transport, entrance tickets, and lunch, you save time and hassle, ensuring the maximum possible time experiencing Luxor highlights.
Great trip very well organised and went smoothly. Said our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a good insight into ancient Egypt. The cushions and goodie bag on the mini bus are a lovely touch . Would recommend this trip to anyone looking to go to the valley of the kings ,very good value for money.
An ambitious programme sandwiched between two long minibus trips proved to be a great success and a wonderful day out, full of with terrific memories.
Ramashka Tours provided a really good personal service and we were happy to be in their friendly, safe and efficient hands.
The new Toyota minibus was very comfortable and well equipped, even having a video screen for movies and Egyptian history documentaries to keep us entertained.
We met our guide Sayed in Luxor and he did a great job throughout the day, enabling us to see all the highlights on offer in Luxor - and there are many of them. Sayed gave us a very interesting and informative commentary which engaged all the members of our group, in particular our youngest son, aged 10. He also provided good advice regarding souvenirs and dealing with street traders.
Even though we were limited to the one day, our guide Sayed ensured we saw all the best bits of the Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, Queen Hatsetshup's temple and viewed all of Luxor's other major attractions, by land and also by boat, during a very enjoyable trip on the Nile. The lunch was very good too, at a very nice restaurant overlooking the Nile.
We found the experience of visiting the ancient tombs in the Valley of the Kings to be quite exhilarating and this was aided significantly by our excellent guide and tour company
Experience ancient Egypt’s most iconic sites on a full-day tour to Luxor from Hurghada, El Gouna, or Makadi. Explore a complex of royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, and walk the imposing arcades at the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, the powerful ruler who became Egypt’s first female pharaoh. Slip between the crumbling Colossi of Memnon, stroll through the chapels, temples and sacred lake at the Karnak Temple, then return to the present with a trip to an alabaster factory and papyrus bazaar.
Luxor Excursion “Valley of the Kings” from Hurghada
Amazing trip to Luxor
, Jan 2020
Two days after visiting Cairo this was a second trip within one week wirh this agency.
Perfectly organized program with its nice and friendly crew!!! We couldn't imagine to see so many attractions within one day, especialy not for that price.
We also took a boat trip to Banana island and it was fun.
Thanks to Mohammed & Co we really enjoyed this unforgetable day a lot!
We knew that there would be a long bus ride there and back which was quite boring. We picked the guide up near to Luxor. He was very knowledgeable but had too many people to herd and had difficulty being heard over the hubbub. He didn't have an easily seen identity (a flag or parasol which is easy to follow). He also had some very active people who walked on ahead and someone in a wheelchair who was pushed by a person who was challenged by the terrain, This meant that he had a difficult time there. It would have been better if there was another English speaking guide to ensure smaller numbers. I believe that the Germans on the bus had a much better guide to tourist ratio.
The trip across the Nile was interesting but getting on to and off the boat on the East bank was rather challenging for those who were not sure footed. We spent too long on lunch and in the Alabaster factory and as a consequence couldn't spend much time in the valley of the Kings.
On a positive note the guide spoke well and was very informative. The large number of English speakers was not his fault.
We enjoyed the tour of the temple
time in the Karnak temple area as there were many other tour groups there too..
Guide was brilliant, coach assistants were disorganised, rude and abrupt. Food stop was great food but again it was rushed. Main dissapointment was not going to Tutankhamons tomb as we were not made fully aware that we had to buy tickets at the gate separatey. Still worth the trip and great value for money.
Discover the wonders of ancient Egypt on this fun and interesting full-day tour from Hurghada to Luxor. After the pick-up at your hotel you will explore the Temple of Karnak, Hatshepsut, the impressive Valley of the Kings, Colossi of Memnon and take a boat tour cross the Nile River.
A long day but Definitely worth it! The company was very well organised and the transport was great, brand new van and pillows, much better than another company we went with later in the week. Snacks were provided and we had an excellent guide ‘Mama’. Only negative was an expensive transfer of £25 from Makadi Bay , but overall an excellent trip and would definitely recommend this company .
We highly recommend this tour! We were picked up outside of our hotel at 02:45 in a small van with four other passengers. They provided us with some small snacks and water, and we were on our way to Cairo. The trip is obviously a bit long, so we slept for the beginning, but once it was light out it was very pretty and an enjoyable trip. We started at the Egyptian Museum, which I didn't have any expectations for, but ended up being a great supplement to the trip, as I learned a lot of history I didn't know about and it ended up making the pyramids even greater. Mama was our tour guide in Cairo, and as every other review says, he was amazing! He really treated us like his own family and wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. After the museum, we paid 200 lira extra ($15?) to take a Nile cruise. They make it seem optional but it's really not, so bring extra money for that. The cruise was nice though (very cold), and it took us to lunch. Lunch was really great, and Mama was great about getting us there before other tourist groups arrived. After that we headed to the pyramids, and of course the best part of the trip. The pyramids were awesome. Mama made sure to get our pictures throughout it, and took us to a great panoramic spot that no other tourist were at. We learned a lot of history and they definitely lived up to the hype. The only downside of the trip was right after the pyramids, you're taken to a shop to have tea and coffee, but really it is someone trying to get you to buy fragrances. If you say you don't want tea or coffee, he makes you get some anyway. And then they make you try fragrances and really pressure you to buy something. One person in our group did but it's uncomfortable when everyone is just sitting there not buying anything.
Other than that though, the trip was amazing! It was a great price and I would do it again and again!
Brilliant experience to learn some of Egypt's history
, Feb 2020
Brilliant day from start to finish . Mini bus great and the added cushions a delightful extra as was the goodie bag. Our guide mama was so knowledgeable and passionate it made us hungry for more history of Egypt so have booked a tour for luxor. It is a long day but absolutely worth it . A big thank you to the two drivers also who are a marvel at getting through the streets of Cairo safely .
While in Hurghada, seize the opportunity to visit Cairo on a full-day trip with a professional guide. After an early start, journey to Cairo by air-conditioned coach and explore the main must-sees. Visit the world-famous Egyptian Museum to view its ancient artifacts, including Tutankhamun’s treasures and gold death mask; and if you wish, take an optional look at the incredible Mummy Room. After an included lunch, continue to Giza and ogle the Great Pyramids and Sphinx, the last remaining Ancient Wonder of the World, as your guide explains their history.
The price was reasonable.the transfer man picked me up from the hotel, the bus was big and comfortable with air condition and toilet,we drove to Luxor.our first stop in Luxor was Karnak temple where we met our guide Hazem Hassan,he speaks English fluently,he gave us a lot of information about ancient Egypt.then we crossed the Nile on a motor boat to the restaurant.it was a good restaurant with Nile view.after lunch we went to the valley of the kings and the temple of queen Hatshepsout, nearby we visited the Alabaster factory, where I bought a nice cat made from alabaster,we stopped in front of the colossal statues of Memnon where I did nice photos.
Then I paid for the optional trip to the banana village by the boat.it was a great experience on the Nile.then the bus took us back to Hurghada.
Thank you very much
I was in Egypt for 10 days and visited cairo, hurghada and Luxor. But definitely luxor was the best, our representative mohamed picked us up from our hotel at 4:30 am then we moved towards luxor.the bus was so comfortable.we arrived to luxor around 9 am and started our tour to karnak temple which was so inspiring for me.we moved then and had delicious lunch in local restaurant,we crossed to the west bank and visited the valley of the kings and hatshepsut temple, tombs there was amazing.can not forget our guide heba she was amazing.entrance fees was not included.we took motor boat as optional tour with additional cost and we did enjoy it.for me luxor was the best in Egypt
- The Egyptian historical sites are amazing and definitely worth visiting.
- Our tour guide Mohammed was very knowledgeable on all the places we visited.
- Tour guide did his best to give a lot of information, was friendly and relaxed.
The room for improvement
- You feel like a walking ATM all day long, everyone wants your money...and constantly asks for it.
- Even the tour guide tries to constantly 'upsell' you additions to the tour or make you visit other things not mentioned in the program (alabaster shop) and it's done in kind of a slick way (e.g. better taking the boat, 12 euros extra because crossing the river by fan will take more than an hour extra). Luxor seems like one big affiliate marketing program and everyone seems to be in on it.
Would I recommend it? I probably would have still gone knowing what I know now. Like I said, the sites are incredible and I wonder if every tour has the same downsides. The whole upselling is ridiculous but try to have a good laugh about it. :)

This day started early at 0345 and after many hotel pick-ups we were finally on the road two hours later. The day in Luxor started with a visit to the Karnak Temple which was outstanding and after lunch, a ferry trip across the Nile to the Western shore where we visited the Valley of the Queens and the Al-Deir Al-Bahari temple. These were outstanding and the opportunity to see the paintings 3500 years old in superb condition was memorable.
The unnecessary visit to an alabaster factory with its schooled choir of lecturers was a distraction which added nthing to the day but thankfully the visit was very short.
This review would have had a five star rating if it had not been for the Nile River trip. This trip left from the point where we had disembarked having crossed the Nile from Luxor and then landed on a small island where we saw tropical fruits growing before trying them and then returning straight across the Nile to Luxor to board the coach. We in effect paid ten euros st cross the River when we could have stayed in the coach.
After pick-up from your hotel, drive to Luxor to visit the most famous monuments in all Egypt, including the temple at Karnak. After that, relax over lunch at a local restaurant in Luxor. Then get on board a Felucca, a type of sailing boat typical in Egypt to cross over the Nile to the City of the Dead (optional).
The impressive Colossi of Memnon will greet you there – the the last remnants of the Temple of Amenophis III. Be enthralled by the magnificent architecture of the Valley of the queens and visit the temple of Hatshepsut, one of the female rulers of Ancient Egypt. After you've had enough time to explore the extensive monuments to your satisfaction, you will be driven back to your hotel.probaly back at 21:30 pm

Cairo Over day (Pyramids & Museum) Full Day - Hurghada
Great experience but a very long trip
, Jan 2020
We were taken from Hurghada to Cairo by bus. We were picked up at 2 am and we arrived to Cairo around 8 in the morning. The first stop was the National Museum of Cairo where we saw the mummies and treasures from the temples. After that we were recomended a trip on the Nile for a certain price that lasted 20 minutes and then we were off to see the Pyramids. Before that we stoped at a Papyrus museum where we learned how ancient papyrus is made. We got a few suvenires from there but later we found out that we could get those cheaper in the bazars. At the Pyramids we were recomanded to take a Camel ride for a certain price to take a full photo of the Pyramids. After the Pyramids we went to another stop to see some ancient oils and perfumes that again were optional to get and a bit pricy. There were loads of things to see and everyone was quite great but the trip itself was very long. I recomend the trip but do get a battery pack with you and install some games on your phone for a long ride.
this was a lovely trip to cairo. it was a long day as we drove from hurghada but the experience itself was amazing with the sights along the way. the tour was pretty good, only wish we could have spent more time at the pyramids and spyhnx. the extra attractions were not really necessary for us as we just wanted to see the highlights! but they were ok, you needed to spend more money which we hadn't budgeted for. but overall the trip was a highlight for us. the guide on the bus with us was really good and quite funny. would recommend this trip but be aware of the extras.

Private Day Tour To Luxor from Cairo by Plane, tours, sailing felucca&camel ride.
, Feb 2020
If you only have a limited time in Cairo, this is a good way (but a long day) to get a tour of the must-see historic sites in the Luxor area (Valley of Kings, Hatshepsut, Karnak and Luxor temples). We modified our itinerary to skip the camel ride and go to Luxor temple instead - do not miss Luxor. Our guide, Ahmed, was very knowledgeable on Egyptian history and was very helpful in accommodating unexpected needs and in changing our lunch menu and itinerary. He also checked on us to make sure we got back to our hotel ok. He and the driver were very nice and we definitely recommend this tour and guide.
Know before you go: A driver will take you from your Cairo hotel to the airport and then you meet your tour guide in Luxor. We were picked up at 2:30am and got back to our hotel about 8:00pm. Bring Egyptian cash - admission fees not included or required tipping - and a working ATM was difficult to find. Eat before you go, there is no breakfast on arrival - but our driver kindly took us to a market to get something. You will stop at a stone carving museum and store with the long sales pitch. If you buy, expect their first offer to be about 3 times higher than you should pay.

Amazing tour with Hatem!!
, Nov 2019
This was such an awesome tour!! I mean how can you beat a hot air balloon ride watching the sun rise over the Nile? I’m afraid of heights and thought this could be an issue but never once did I or my friend feel scared. Sailing over the lush fertile landscape, seeing the Valley of the Kings below and the sheer experience of floating was indescribable! We then started our tour with our private driver and guide, Hatem, who was very well mannered, kind and accommodating. He knew so much of the history of the temples and tombs and spoke very good English. He arranged for everything from purchasing our entrance tickets (included) to suggesting the best tombs to see to ensuring we were always happy and taken care of.
After a short city tour, we sailed on a felucca to Banana Island for lunch which was a delicious 4-5 course meal overlooking the Nile and walked around the banana plantation. After asking about the large cone shaped bird house, we learned that pigeon is a delicacy. Later, in Cairo, we tried it and it was very good.
As we sailed back to the West Bank our young helmsmen began to play a small drum and we all danced on the boat as others sailed by probably wondering why we were having so much fun. It was because Hatem encouraged us to live like “queens”. So we did!
The last part of our tour was a camel ride, which as it turned out was around the neighborhood where we were staying. It was fun to see how people lived and everywhere we went people were friendly and happy to see us. For a 1 day tour we did a lot!
I would highly recommend booking this tour and trying to get Hatem as your guide. Thank you so much Hatem for providing us with such a carefree and fun time! Anna and I will never forget it!
The experience was incredible, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was a mixup about the start of the tour not being listed clearly. We weren't informed that the tour started at 5am, so we missed the Hot Air Balloon ride, however, the Guide made every effort to accommodate the mistake, and we were very happy with the remaining program.
Maybe just in future, please fully explain the hours of start for the tour. We definitely will reccomend the tour and especially the guide, Saladino to all our friends who wish to visit Egypt!
the hot air ballon ride was great! worth doing if it was just this alone, plenty to see with the valley of the kings, adequate time given at each site.the felucca ride was relaxing, and food provided was good.the camels well behaved and clean. could have done without a couple of the stops at what appeared to be friends of the guide. pushiest tour we've been on asking for tips at EVERY stop.

2 nights luxor and Aswan on Nile cruise board includes tours from hurghada
, Feb 2020
We booked this whilst staying in Hurghada and were pleasantly surprised from the transfers from our hotel to the meals included. Everything ran smoothly and even included a transfer to Luxor airport as we weren’t returning to Hurghada.
The sites themselves were awe inspiring and Ghada ( good luck with the baby 😊) our guide was informative, whilst not being over bearing and allowing time to explore these wonderful sites ourselves.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this trip to anyone wishing to see this wonderful part of the world.
Just to add I’ve never been on a cruise although my friend I was travelling with has and he said the cabin was larger than in most cruise ships.
We have already discussed returning to spend more time and see more of the sites. We will return and look to do a longer cruise.
A very enjoyable excursion which delivered everything it promised. The cruise was very five-star with its own swimming pool which was lovely in the heat, very clean and large cabins. The only disappointment on the cruise was that on all three days the Internet did not work at all. The excursion included amazing sights with a private tour guide, although one of the tour guides had absolutely no idea what he was talking about and gave incorrect information. I got the correct information from reading the signs throughout the temple. The other tour guides were very informative. The downside of the tour guides is that they take you afterwards to places where you are put under pressure to buy products you don’t want. The only disappointing part of the trip was that I was dropped at the cruise ship with absolutely no information of what would be happening for the next three days and considering there was no Internet on board it left me very nervous. It would be much better to receive a full program before the tour starts as to exactly what would be happening and where. On the first day I almost paid 20 Euros for a horse carriage ride not knowing there was a guide waiting for me and this was included in the ride. The guide found me at the last minute however I had no information beforehand that there would be a guide waiting. The Valley of the Kings was an amazing experience. The man in charge, Islam, was incredible and extremely wonderful and helpful. I would recommend this excursion but ask for a full program at the beginning.
