Samurai Phototours provides a guided tour in English, 10am to 4pm, with photography, to the temples, shrines and gardens of Kamakura, the seat of Japan's first military government, 1185-1333. We'll visit centuries-old historical monuments and stroll through ancient gardens lined with flowering trees and plants. We'll explain the history of the era, the rise of Zen Buddhism, the Samurai Code of Honour, and the uneasy truce between the Emperor and the Shogun. Along the way, your guide will take a portfolio of pictures for you to keep. The tour is suitable for singles, couples, and families, as well as larger groups: in fact, anyone interested in history or nature, or just wants a fun day out. .
