The trip was mainly very good, this was due to our excellent tour guide, Mayumi. Due to weather conditions we we only able to stop at the first station of Mt Fuji which seemed a bit pointless as pictures from there weren’t very good.
From there we went on a boat trip around a different lake as it was too windy to cruise around Lake Ashi which was pretty and allowed us to get plenty of good photos of Mt Fuji.
We also had lunch included which was weirdly in a restaurant inside of a theme park! The lunch was a traditional ramen-type soup with a small buffet.
After that we visited the ropeway which enabled more good photos of Fuji.
Finally we took the Shinkansen back to Tokyo, I would highly recommend doing this as it was an amazing experience - getting us back to the city in 25 minutes!
Overall our guide Mayumi really made the trip for us, she was very knowledgable and friendly. I can’t rate her enough for the insight she gives you into Japanese culture.
The day we traveled, the weather was foggy, rainy and a bit windy at the end, so we were no able to see mt. Fuji. Not organisers fault and they state that they won't cancel trip because of bad weather. Here you already might choose not to go with prepaid tour but either do it yourself on they day you choose or book when you know weather forcast. We had 4 stops on our trip: mt.fuji museum 30min, 1st step 30min (could not go to fifth due to weather), lunch 1 hour and cable car 1.5 hours (which I skipped because it was already pooring with rain and the visibility even on the ground was poor). Overall the whole sightseeing experience 2.5 hours as opposed to 6.5 hours sitting on the bus and 30 min on bullet train. We were back to Tokyo by bullet train at 5.20pm. I think the announced return time should have been 7pm. The guide was ok, but I could hardly understand her english, so when we get to mt.fuji museum I was hoping to watch a movie about mt. Fuji in English, but by the time it started (runs every 30min after a movie in Chinese), we had to go back to our bus. So overall, I would not recommend. I think next time we'd better just do it ourselves on a nice day we can pick and choose how much time we stay in one location.
Join a full-day guided tour from Tokyo that travels to Mt Fuji, then continues to nearby Lake Ashi and the Mt Komagatake Ropeway. Enjoy the ease of comfortable transportation and a knowledgeable guide, who will accompany you to the revered Mt Fuji's 5th Station. Take a short boat cruise on Lake Ashi and climb by aerial tram to the top of Mt Komagatake for views of Mt Fuji. Return to Tokyo by bullet train in the evening after taking in some of Japan’s iconic highlights.
This was such a blast!! We did the 3 hour driving session and it's a great way to see the city. You get to go so fast. The tour guide is very accommodating and helps all along the way for the navigation. Definitely a highlight of our trip! And we got great weather - wouldn't recommend doing if it's raining.
This will be a tour you never forget. You'll get to choose a costume from a wide selection of sizes and styles, based on comics, games, and anime characters. You won’t have to worry about getting lost, as your guide will lead the way, and give a full safety briefing at the start. Drive past top attractions such as Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Tower, Roppongi, and Shibuya Crossing. A fun and memorable way to tour Tokyo.
Great tour but disappointed that cruise was canceled
, Feb 2020
Enjoyed the tour however very disappointed to be told the day before tour that the cruise on Tokyo bay was canceled, I booked this tour as it included the cruise! The lunch at the sumo restaurant was awesome and we got to see all the major sites in Tokyo which was great as we had our 6 and 8 year old daughters with us, they enjoyed it too!
The tour did not visit nor drive by some listed attractions, eg Godzilla, Tokyo Statue of Liberty, Olympic stadium, plus a couple of others. Lunch however was very good. Final concern was that we were picked up at a hotel but dropped off at a train station a couple of miles from our hotel. We might have missed it in the fine print, but so did a number of others on our bus. Fortunately, our tour had a young lady who was interning to become a guide on our trip and she spent about 15 minutes of her own time navigating us through the complicated train station.
Discover Tokyo's must-see landmarks on this full-day coach tour including a cruise along the Tokyo Bay. Drive past the National Diet Building and other major attractions en route to the Imperial Palace East Garden for a stroll. Then explore the sights of Asakusa, including Senso-ji Temple, with commentary from an audio guide. Hop aboard a short cruise on Tokyo Bay. Opt to include a buffet lunch if you’d like, with views of the Bay and the Rainbow Bridge from your seat.
This show is one of the best I’ve ever seen, very unique portraying Japanese culture. The only downside was the space being too small and also getting the tickets after purchasing online should have been an easier process, instead of having to get in a long line to receive paper tickets.

Fantastic Day at Mt Fuji, Oshino Hakkai & Shiraito Falls
, Jan 2020
We had an absolutely fabulous day on this tour with Khizer. Perfect weather too to see Mt Fuji in its full glory. Khizer is in some ways more native than the natives here judging from his knowledge and pride of the country he has chosen to call home. Touring with him was more like hanging out with a good friend... we chatted & learned about the history and culture of Japan without feeling we were in a boring history class! Khizer totally catered to our needs and graciously took us to all the places we wanted to go to... even if (I suspect) it was a little out of his way. We couldn't have asked for a better guide (& now friend)... and oh he's a steady & safe driver too. This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Tokyo. Thanks a million, Khizer!
Great way to see the Fuji area, very friendly service
, Jan 2020
Pick up was early and they had listened to the notes I put on the booking and brought a car seat. Driver was very helpful and patient with us. He made recommendations at each stop and offered to help take pictures as well as help us save spots in line while we unloading the kids. That saved us a lot of time. He was also able to offer insight at each location on the history. He also was very flexible on our agenda and any needs for stops. Overall a great trip and plan on using them again when we have more visitors.
I have been taking trips
To Mt Fuji using the group bus experience before. This one is 100x better. You travel at your own pace, the guide is so knowledgeable and helpful. He even took us to an authentic Japanese resto for lunch. Wonderful!!!
Check out one of Japan's most beautiful, iconic destinations—Mt. Fuji—on this convenient day tour from Tokyo. Visit several places in the Fuji area from where you can get beautiful views of the mountain (weather permitting), including Hakone, Lake Kawaguchi, the 5th Station on Mt. Fuji, and more. As this is a private tour, you can customize the itinerary to suit your own interests.
The tour guide and also the individuals who helped us to find our seats on the bullet train train could not have been kinder. The tour guide presented us with a very informative understanding of the three temples which we visited. Our lunch which was a buffet was both delicious and plentiful. You should be aware of the fact that five hours of the day is spent on transportation to and from Kyoto, but the experience of the bullet train was worth it. I would have liked to see less touristic temples. The first one we visited was too commercial.
While everyone we encountered was polite and helpful, the overall experience was very disappointing. It was very difficult to find the pick up location to get the tickets for the train ride. The lunch offered was fine but rushed. The tour guide was kind and offered good info but the timeline was rushed at all locations. There was no time to experience any location we visited and then we ended up back at the departure point almost an hour early. Then, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes while a few of the others on the tour finished a meal in the hotel before taking the train back to Tokyo. We won’t book any group tour ever again. While more expensive, we will only book private tours.
See the highlights of Kyoto on a full-day tour from Tokyo. Learn about the history of the region from your guide as you visit top attractions including Mt Fuji, Fushimi Inari Taisha, Sanjusangen-do Hall, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Enjoy a delicious lunch in Kyoto, and take a round-trip ride on the super-speed bullet train.
Hadn’t used Viator before, and after failing to book sumo tickets directly I reluctantly booked through here. Turns out I was wrong to be worried!
Easy directions were given along with a digital voucher. We found the tour really easily, with staff waiting outside the hotel to guide us in. Our tour guide was lovely and gave us a run-down on the history and current tournament of Sumo. The seats could have been a bit closer, but still a great view, and the atmosphere is amazing! Never knew I liked sumo as a sport but really really loved it.
Must do! Our guide, Honda, what is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and excited for her favorite wrestler. She’s a big fan and shares that with you. This is a great way to get tickets when tickets are hard to get. Another plus was the emperor and empress was at the event!
Witness one of Japan’s most iconic cultural expressions at an exhilarating sumo tournament in Tokyo. Set the scene before the tournament by visiting the informative Sumo Museum to see fascinating collections of memorabilia then feel the energizing pre-match atmosphere on the subway as you ride to the ‘kokugikan’ (sumo amphitheater) to see a selection of atmospheric sumo matches. Enhance your experience by upgrading to include a delicious dinner of traditional Japanese dishes at a local restaurant.
This was the perfect full day tour in Tokyo. With the ability to customize as needed, we were able to hit all the spots we wanted to. and spend more time on things that interested us. Mitch was a great guide, and was able to provide plenty of useful information about everything we saw. We used public transportation and the tour included a rechargeable IC card that we have been topping up and using for the remainder of our trip. The included lunch was based on our preferences and was a local place we never would have found on our own, and it was delicious. A fantastic experience all round. Highly recommended.
Not sure how to express just how much we enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Silvia, became a friend by the end of the day. We wanted her IN our pictures, not taking them of us. Because of some travel/life logistics we only had a couple days for our first visit to Tokyo (after 3 weeks in SE Asia) and we thought this tour would be the way to go. The price seemed steep at first but I assure you we received every penny and more in value! We saw so much of the city. Places and things someone on a big tour (or on their own) would never see. Using public transport is a great way to do it. You move around briskly without delays and really get a feel for the culture. We absolutely fell in love with the city and are already dreaming of our return. Meg (owner) and Silvia are a BIG reason why.
Thanks to Meg for a wonderful day out in Tokyo.
We gave her our itinerary and she worked the timings so that we did everything we wanted and then some.
Even managed to fit in a journey on the bullet train......thankfully the day before the typhoon !
Would highly recommend

I thoroughly enjoyed this tour! All pick ups were super prompt. Guides greeted us at every station and transferred us over. Things in Japan run like clockwork. At one point we only had around 10mins between train transfers. A guide greeted us right outside our train car upon arrival and stayed with us for the 10mins before our next train arrived!
Transfers to/from hotels were a combination of riding the bus (same bus used for the main tour proper) or in some cases a taxi just for the few who needed to be transferred over.
Busses were very comfortable and the guides did a great job of pointing out highlights during our journey, while also sharing personal anecdotes and providing some great relevant history for the sites we visited.
There was adequate free time throughout and I never felt rushed in any manner. The meals included were really good and in good restaurants.
Overall I'm extremely satisfied with the way this entire tour was organized and run. If you're looking to experience Mt Fuji, a short cruise on Lake Ashi, enjoying the beautiful sights and sounds of Kyoto and Nara in a comfortable manner with great guides I highly recommend considering this package!

This trip exceed my family’s expectation! We are a family of 3 with a 10-year old son. Mt. Fuji’s view during the day was perfect. The itinerary is actually family oriented. My son’s favourite part was the visit to the Ninja Village. The ninja presentation was also educational and entertaining. Lunch was also superb. This is a must-try tour, especially for those first time in Tokyo. Another great plus for this tour was Bea the tour guide and Saito san the driver. They were very flexible, experienced and they ensured the fun + safety of all travellers. Thank you.
Travel to Mt. Fuji’s 5th Station, situated at an elevation of 7,545 feet (2,300 meters) on the UNESCO-listed mountain. This coach tour departs Tokyo for a full-day itinerary that includes stops at Lake Kawaguchi and Oshino Hakkai in the Fuji Five Lakes district. Snap a photo with a ninja at the Oshino Ninja Village and experience unforgettable 4D views on the Fuji-Q Highland flight simulator. Opt to include a Japanese-style lunch if you’d like.
Shima & Jambo made this whole experience a delight with their fun & interactive demonstration of the history & training/lifestyle of a Sumo wrestler. The lady who described and translated everything into English for us was very good at getting the information across.
Recommended. I would go again.
This was SUCH a great experience. I went on a Monday and the wrestlers were amazing. They were so thorough in their instructions, explanations, and answers. It was also so fun and I was laughing the whole time! They make it so entertaining. One of the most memorable aspects of my trip. The Chanko soup was good and the bento box was decent. Love the whole experience.
Eat, train, and fight like a real Japanese sumo wrestler during this sumo demonstration and authentic ‘Chanko Nabe’ (hotpot) meal. Discover the history, training, and rules behind the typical sumo match as you watch real clashes. You can even try it yourself during a skirmish with a retired wrestler. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, dig into a tasty Chanko Nabe, a filling meal of hotpot, rice, miso, salad, French fries and more, used by these hulking fighters to gain weight. Admission to the demonstration and meals are both covered.

Best Day of My Trip!
, Jan 2020
This tour was by far the best thing I did on Tokyo. My guide, Mr. Katsunori, was communicative, knowledgeable and just fun to spend a day with! We saw all the “must sees” and he provided me with background information for all the sites. Our hotel was right by the Tokyo Tower (a spot on the planned itinerary) but he changed course according to my preferences. I highly recommend!
Yoshida was an incredible tour guide. Her personality was very warm and friendly. She took us to all of the locations we requested and even made a few extra stops along the way. Showed us the various foods to try, helped us with communicating, and showed us different customs to show respect. Her English was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and explained the history of different sites very well. She went above and beyond to help make our trip enjoyable and even stayed a little longer than required. Would love to go back and tour with her again. She is truly a blessing and made our trip exceptional!
It was a wonderful tour where we got to see everything we wanted to and at the pace we wanted. Our guide got us through Tokyo easily and we would’ve been lost without her and it would taken 3x as long. She was knowledgeable, sweet, helpful, and a joy to spend the day with. We are so happy to have taken this tour for our first time to Tokyo
First-time visitors to Tokyo who want a comprehensive overview of the city will love this handy private tour. Experience both modern and ancient Tokyo at attractions like the Tokyo Tower, Meiji Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and more. Foodies will be kept satisfied with lunch at the Tsukiji Fish Market, and shopaholics will love Asakusa and Ginza. Customize the tour to suit your needs.
Ultimately a very enjoyable cultural experience, with no tournaments happening the practice was the next best thing. Interesting to see warm up routines and practice bouts at very close range and worth getting up early for.
However, the booking experience was varied as despite booking over a month ahead, getting confirmation of availability and taking our money the operator informed us a couple of days before that there were no longer any places and they were cancelling our tour. However, following some firm emails our places were "restored" and everything was fine. Viator need to get this sorted with the provider as I have noted some other comments were people had similar experiences.
I absolutely enjoyed the morning practice. It was fascinating to get a glimpse into this sport and culture. I would advise on reading up a bit beforehand if you’re new to the sport as not much is being said while training is on. We had an opportunity for photos afterwards, which was great.
Visit a sumo training center in Tokyo to observe the morning practice. Spend approximately two hours watching the sumo wrestlers train and observe the rules and regulations of sumo. It’s a rare chance for visitors to glimpse this exclusive world, and a fascinating window into a Japanese tradition.
I booked this tour to learn a bit about sumo wrestling. Yumiko was a fantastic guide, she met us early at the location by the JR train station and then took the time to explain what we were going to see when we went to the Sumo stable. She then took us with a few to the Sumo stable. Additionally, during the practice she wrote additional notes to help us understand what we were seeing. It was an overall fascinating experience.
Get an inside look into Japan’s ancient, traditional national sport: sumo wrestling. Travelers can find it hard to gain access to the wrestlers’ stables without local help. On this morning training tour you’ll see the athletes practicing, close up. Enjoy this exclusive insight into Japanese culture and history through this fascinating sport.

Saqib was very accommodating about our needs and was flexible with time.
We went with his recommendation about the ninja show and the kids loved it and the restaurant was yummy.
Mt Fuji refused to come out, however, but the tour was enjoyable despite that.
Traffic was heavy on the return. Need to figure that in next time to avoid overtime charge. Anyway, it turned out to be a city night tour. Will book with this tour operator again.
The company said the English speaking driver had an emergency - so they send someone else - our driver spoke no English at all. He was very kind and a good driver. Communication was not possible which doesn’t lead to anything if you can’t make appointments etc. As well he came an hour late due to traffic jam (the company should know traffic in Tokyo) which was very very unfortunate as this is a time sensitive tour! Mount Fuji was in the clouds when we arrived.... an hour earlier would have been perfect!
Spend a day exploring Mount Fuji and the area around it with this private, fully customizable tour. Your English-speaking driver will pick you up from your central Tokyo hotel and take you to spots such as the Sengen Shrine Complex, Kawaguchiko Lake, the Kachi Kachi Ropeway, Oshino Hakkai, and a trip up to the Mount Fuji Fifth Station, if weather permits.
Excellent Driver Oriol. Everything was fantastic. He took us to all possible places one can go in 8 hours. Was very courteous. The car was excellent. Tour was very well organized. THANKS A LOT ORIOL and Team
Excellent day tour of Tokyo. Tour guide was most helpful and flexible and tailored our day to suit us. at teh end of the day he dropped us at the Mori Digitial Art Museum quite late and waited to hear from us that we were able to get in before leaving us for the day. He kept in touch with us and followed up afterwards too. Excellent value for money for the 4 of us.
Explore the best that Tokyo has to offer on a full-day private sightseeing tour. Choose from a set itinerary or customize your own with your English-speaking driver to see the locations of the most interest to you. Visit key landmarks like Sensoji Temple, the Skytree building, the Shibuya crossing and more as you listen to commentary about the history and culture of the city.
Pre-Order request for Studio Ghibli Museum – including Ticket delivery
From $46.52 (Price varies by group size )
Finally got to see the Ghibli Museum!
, Jan 2020
This service is awesome! I tried to get tickets for the Ghibli museum during my last trip to Japan and couldn't get them because they are so difficult to acquire. Viator made it possible. They were waiting for me when I checked into the hotel. I'm so happy!
We had no problems with this company. Great communication from start to finish. Tickets were waiting at front desk of our hotel. We given several choices to make it easier to secure tickets. I recommend this if you want tickets & are traveling from US.
The worldwide popularity of the Studio Ghibli Museum means that admission tickets, which can only be bought in advance, often sell out. Guarantee your entry to the museum, which imitates animated film sets from classic films such as Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle, by booking your tickets in advance. This convenient package includes the delivery of the tickets to your accommodation, allowing you to skip the stress of finding a meeting point.
My guide Lily was awesome!! I did this experience on my first day in Tokyo and it was a wonderful experience. The food choices where great and so fresh! Lily was kind and so patient with the group. Her English was great and she told us so much about the fish market including a little of the history of the market. Lily also gave us wonderful ideas and places to go in Tokyo. She went to above and beyond and even helped me get back to the train station. I will be forever grateful to her!!!
Yuku was a great tour guide as she was very knowledgeable. she provided us with lots of information regarding the vendors and the market. The sushi tasted amazing. I would definitely do this tour again..

Wow! Nikko was an amazing place to visit. Everyone in my family loved the tour. Aside from beautiful Nikko, visiting the lake and falls was an added bonus. We especially enjoyed the fantastic, delicious lunch!
Would take this tour again in a second. Thanks Viator for making the experience one of the best in Japan!

The food tour was a fabulous experience. I loved being lead to local, out of the way restaurants. We toasted with and talked to the locals which was such an uplifting experience. Our female guide was so helpful even regarding how to get back to the hotel. The food was delicious
Our guide, Tomomi, provided our group of 9 with a great experience visiting restaurants that didn't have many tourists in them which was great. She made sure we all were taken care and understood the food and beverages. Definitely would recommend this to a friend.
Kiri was a terrific tour guide and went above and beyond to make us all comfortable and to be sure we were enjoying ourselves. He shared so much information about Tokyo, the culture, shopping and the best part, of course, was the food! He was so knowledgeable and took us to such fun places. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to get the flavor of Tokyo! Thank you Kiri!

Private Tour: Chartered Car to Mt. Fuji Lake Kawaguchiko or Hakone and Lake Ashi
From $759.53 per group
, Jan 2020
The tour guide Teddy, gave us a very nice tour and customized the itinerary to suit our requests. We saw the Hakone sulphur springs and took the ropeway (cable car) from there to the Lake Ashi. We took the the pirate ship for a tour of the lake. The weather in December a little cool but nice. We were able to see Mt. Fuji for a bit until the clouds came out and covered it up. My wife went to outlets while I went to an onsen (hot spring). We enjoyed the whole experience although the price is slightly high as we had to pay for the pirate ship and cable car in addition to the tour fee.
Our guide Takashi-san has excellent command of English and share with us a lot of information on Mount Fuji, wind/ice cave. He led us to each location and explain clearly.
Our driver(Toshi-san) is extremely professional, patiently waiting in the car for us at each site. As we did not manage to catch sunset over Mount Fuji due to bad weather, he volunteer to send us some pictures which he has taken a week earlier.
Overall my family enjoyed the trip and the professionalism of both the guide and driver.
In one word - Excellent Trip. The guide, the driver, the route, the narration - everything was great. The chartered tour is expensive but worth it - you decide to stop-start-halt-move-absolute freedom. I liked the chartered tour because it gave us privacy and ample scope to pursue my hobby - photography. So, if you can afford, go for this trip. You won't be disappointed. Last but not the least - our tour guide was terrific - well educated, polite, friendly and very informative. Will take this trip again during my next trip to Tokyo.
Find the best viewpoints on this private tour from Tokyo via minivan. Choose between visiting Mt. Thank to my guide Yoko for such interesting excursion around Tokyo!
A lots of fan in the fish market and a lot of the information about the anime district in Toky!
i loves the cafe with hedgehogs was lovely))))
And thanks for the fotos!
Nice tour. Tour guide Tak very accommodating and knowledgeable. Took special requests for specific locations and found them for us. Best part was huge cotton candy store. Recommend for families. Really enjoyed it.
Tak did a great job of showing us Tokyo's sights while still working with us to accomplish some things we needed to do. We saw a beautiful park that was overlooked by the new city. It was great. Then we went to the Olympics store which was a desire to get some things for our family. Since it was our last day in Tokyo, we needed to get some cut glass and Tak took us directly to the most impressive place we have been in in years. Good guide (and very patient).
