4 hours travelling (2 hours each way) and 4 hours there. The trip was basically a taxi service that dropped us at one part of town. Then picked us up and took us to lunch, which was average. Then dropped us at another part of town, before picking us up and transporting us back to hotel. There were a few tips on where to visit at the 2 drop-offs but no tour guiding was given. As we had around an hour and a half at each drop off the driver/guide could have walked with us for say 30 minutes at each stop, giving some history and context. This didn't happen. Also there was supposed to be a bottle of water for each passenger (8 on our minibus) and there was 1 short so I didn't receive a bottle. I ended up buying my own drink but a sign of goodwill would have been for the driver to offer to but one for me. Not a lot of money but poor customer service.

Malaysia Countryside and Batu Caves Tour from Kuala Lumpur
From $13.47 (Price varies by group size )

Tour guide great, learnt a lot about Malaysia during the drive. Pick up was easy. The Selangor Pewter factory tour was interesting as was learning how east coast Batik is made. Batu Caves were fascinating. The stairs are not for the faint hearted. The heat can have a impact on how comfortable it is to climb. Need to watch out for the monkeys as they are not shy of people and are happy to steal food right out of your hands if they see an opportunity.
We loved our tour with Rajan - he was super informative and really polite. We learnt a lot about the areas we travelled through and the history of KL. A great way to see the caves, as well as batik and pewter being made and very easy as they pick you up and drop you back at the hotel. Would definitely recommend the tour and especially Rajan.
The Batu Caves are a must-see attraction for anyone visiting Kuala Lumpur. An enjoyable morning - the tour has great potential
, Jan 2020
We had an excellent guide - friendly and willing to do do whatever he could to make the trip an enjoyable one.
We would recommend including a third place of interest other than the Hot Springs - which is not a particularly impressive site, with very few facilities or attractions.
It would also be good if we tour could provide more information about the historical and cultural interest of the sites being visited, so that it becomes a useful educational experience, not least for younger visitors. Perhaps, useful information could be provided about the sites, which visitors could take back home with them.
Guide picked us up from our hotel on time and the car was very clean. He was knowledgeable of the history of KL & Malaysia, thus made the trip interesting. He ensured we received good attention at the Indian restaurant and throughout the trip ensured we were okay. Recommend both the trip and guide to future customers.

I booked an all day tour through Viator with local company Tripmakers Online Enterprise. Nanthe was my Chauffeur/Guide. Nanthe accompanied me throughout the exploration of Malacca. He was knowledgeable about Malacca, its history and architecture. Nanthe was personable, engaged in intelligent conversation, kind and patient.. Nanthe was an excellent guide.I was introduced to Malacca in the best possible way with Nanthe as my guide. Aditionally, he introduce me to how rubber is harvested and to the importance of palm oil in the economy of Malaysia.

We had a lovely time. Our pickup was prompt.Azman our guide was excellent and knowledgeable. He gave us a fantastc time. Our first stop was at Batu caves, then to Melwati Hills where we took many pics with the monkeys. Then we had dinner and went for fireflies boat ride.Wow it was superb.Only reason why I hav taken a star off is because we all thought that dinner at restaurant was poor.We would have preferred if they had charged us more but had given us a choice of what we wanted instead of picking something from a set menu which was not to our liking. However overall it was a beautiful experience.
We had no tour guide and the bus driver give no communication. We went to the Batu caves, he left, we had no idea how long we had, if we needed a ticket. etc
At the dinner prior to the fireflies we had no idea what was included, We had to go find him at the bus to speak to the waitress. We then weren't sure if we had to go somewhere for the cruise or just wait. It could of been handled a lot better,I will think twice before booking with Viator again.

Excellent knowledge tour & service provided by out guide Hoopy. The great thing about a private tour is the ability to choose an earlier start time to fit your itinerary & never rushed.. We choose a 08:30 start to avoid the busy crowds at the Batu Caves. Great to see the steps & the caves with minimal people in them. As we were leaving the crowds began to come as the big tour buses arrived.
Took my parents who were in their 70’s & they had no problems with the steps & everything was done at our own pace, so never rushed.
We had plenty of time to see all sights & our guide took & sent pictures to us afterwards.
Would highly recommend.
Champ was a great tour guide and started well by being on time. His local knowledge was very informative and easy to understand. Going to Batu Caves early was a good idea as it was getting busy by the time we finished. Definitely recommend the private tour as it was a great way to get around rather than a bus tour.

We were picked up from our hotel by Hoopy on time and had private tour. Hoopy was knowledgeable, well spoken, friendly and she gave us a wonderful morning sightseeing. Highly recommend Hoopy as a guide.
Take in the impressive sights at Batu Caves and the terraced cascades of Kanching Falls. On this half-day private tour you're accompanied off the beaten track by a personal guide. In addition to these popular gems, soak your feet at Selayang Hot Spring. Private transport is included from centrally located hotels in Kuala Lumpur.
Alvin was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. Walked around 12 km, as he told us, but it was slow paced so wasn't hard at all, for a couch potato. Saw a lot, learnt a lot. Only downside was that the canopy walk was closed, but not a deal breaker. Possibly because of new year dates. Also they have started charging entry for this as it was previously free, so something that could be done separately if you wanted. Recommend this tour and Alvin.
The objective of the walking tour experience is for guests to understand, enjoy and absorb the sights, food and culture Kuala Lumpur has to offer. This walking tour is different in the sense that facts and knowledge from a local’s perspective will provide a more insightful understanding about Malaysia in general, and the city of Kuala Lumpur, specifically. Be it about demography, politics, culture, history or anything under the sun, guests are able to observe and understand what makes Kuala Lumpur unique, with all its beauty and flaws.
Note: Morning session's route differ from afternoon session. Route 1-6 (morning session); Route 1-3 & 7-10 (afternoon session).
Batu Caves is an iconic and popular tourist attraction in Malaysia.
A limestone outcrop located just north of Kuala Lumpur, Batu Caves has three main caves featuring temples and Hindu shrines.
Its main attraction is the large statue of the Hindu God at the entrance, besides a steep 272 climb up its steps to finally view the stunning skyline of the city centre.
Monkeys frolic around the caves, and it is a popular spot for rock climbing enthusiasts. Paintings and scenes of Hindu Gods can also be seen in the Ramayana Cave.

Wonderful way to view the highlights of the city in a personalized tour, especially if you’re only visiting for a short period of time. Alex was a fantastic tour guide, knowledgeable and personable. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

He also has wonderful photography skills and knows the most beautiful places to take pictures. I am very excited to share them on the ‘Gram and cannot wait to come back to visit KL again. Kuala Gandah Elephant conservation was established in 1989 by the Department of Wildlife and National Parks. The center is a base for the Elephant Relocation Team, which began the elephant translocation programme in 1974. The only one of its kind in Malaysia, the team is dedicated to locating, subduing and then translocating problem elephants from areas where their habitats are constantly being encroached by plantations and to other suitable habitats throughout the Peninsular such as Taman Negara. Over the past 25 yrs the center has helped prevent the further declined of the elephant population by relocating more than 300 wild elephants.
