A popular year-round mountain resort, Northstar is located near the north shore of Lake Tahoe.
During ski season you can do just about anything that requires snow, from skiing and snowboarding to tubing and snowshoeing. But the resort is just as popular during the summer months offering activities like star gazing, roller skating, miniature golf, biking and hiking.
The Village at Northstar has just about everything you should need during your stay. With restaurants, shops and even a movie theater, it’s a fun place to stroll day or night. Strap on a pair of skates or watch others give it a try at the rink. By winter there’s ice skating. Come summer, blades are replaced with wheels. The Village is family friendly and also pet friendly.
The village is also home to a number of lodging options including hotel style rooms, condominiums and mountain homes. The five-star Ritz-Carlton is fun gondola ride (or quick drive) up mountain.
Northstar is a 15-minute drive from Lake Tahoe. Regardless of the season, give yourself time when traveling. With winter comes snow and slippery road conditions. In summer, especially holiday weekends, extra traffic slows everyone down. Even in summer time, Lake Tahoe gets chilly in the evening, so come prepared with layers.
