Grand Canyon West Rim

Pierce Ferry Road To Diamond Bar Road

The Basics

The West Rim is an ideal day trip destination from Las Vegas, Nevada. Hike the area, visit the Western-style Hualapai Ranch for food and themed activities, or step onto the famous Grand Canyon Skywalk—a glass bridge near Guano Point that allows visitors to see the Colorado River flowing 4,000 feet (1,219 meters) beneath their feet. The West Rim is a popular destination for helicopter tours from Las Vegas, which give travelers a bird’s-eye view of the canyon and nearby attractions such as the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. For a special treat, opt for a sunset helicopter tour that includes Champagne. Bus tours from Vegas offer a different perspective and sometimes also include a visit to Joshua Tree National Park.

Great trip 👍
Everything went smooth from hotel pick up to, the trip itself and the pilot. The Grand Canyon tour with 5Star helicopter service was excellent especially the knowledge of the pilot who told us everything about the canyon.

Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour & Hoover Dam Photo Stop with Optional Skywalk
We had a great time! Bus was clean and the tour guide was funny. The Grand Canyon was breath taking especially on the sky walk. Just wish we were able to stop on the Hoover Dam to actually see the dam. I'm glad the weather wasn't too hot to enjoy the views. Would do the tour again!

Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour & Hoover Dam Photo Stop with Optional Skywalk
Patrick leads an excellent tour…even when mishaps occur. We had an incident on the bus and Patrick and Raymond took care of it, while remaining calm, taking us to an extra spot to pass the time as they cleaned up, and they even were able to keep us on schedule. They provided plenty of cold water (it was hot) and Patrick didn’t talk too much (other reviewers said they talk and talk and talk.) great tour for a family, couple, and teens.

Grand Canyon Deluxe Helicopter Tour from Las Vegas
The experience was great, our pilot Travis was friendly and made the trip. The ‘light snacks’ are very light a few peanuts/ pretzels which was disappointing especially when I’ve done the trip pre covid and you got more.

Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, 7 Magic Mountains Small Group VIP Tour
Everything was perfect! Our tour guide, Jose, was very knowledgable, he took the best photos for us, we had a couple extra stops along the way, and he made sure we were well prepped for each stop- knowing exactly what to expect and what we would need. He was hysterical throughout the trip but serious about safety concerns. Excellent driver and wonderfully prompt! I would highly recommend this tour!

Grand Canyon Sunset Helicopter Tour from Las Vegas
Really good trip. Appears Initially expensive but overall for the experience well worth the money. We were lucky with the weather so the evening sunset was very memorable. Adam, our host pilot, was very interesting and knowledgable. He just needs to brush up on his gags !😜

History of the West Rim

Although the Hualapai Indian Reservation was created in 1883, the Grand Canyon West Rim area wasn’t developed until 1988, when 2,100 members of the Native American tribe decided to open their ancestral lands to visitors. In addition to its stunning viewpoints, the area now offers white water rafting, scenic hiking trails, and rustic lodging to travelers.
