Should You Go to Lebanon?

Lebanon is one of the most beautiful countries in the Middle East. Unfortunately, it is also ripe with violent conflict and time to time it is really not safe for casual travel. This is one such time.

As of now, the US State Department strongly recommends not traveling to Lebanon due to an increase in violence throughout the country, mostly as a result of extremist groups present in the country and an uptick in kidnappings and violence against westerners. With recent violent activity throughout the country, the government of Lebanon is unable to guarantee the safety of visitors from western countries, while the major transit hubs, such as airports border checkpoints and seaports are not always accessible when you need them.
