Atlas Mountains

Marrakech, Morocco

The Basics

The vast mountain range is split into three main regions: the centrally located High Atlas, the Middle Atlas to the north, and the remote Anti Atlas, tucked away in the south. Easily reached from Marrakech, the High Atlas range draws many visitors, with hotels clustered around popular spots like the picturesque Ourika Valley, Ouirgane, and Imlil. It’s also home to the 13,671-foot (4,167-meter) Mount Toubkal, Morocco’s highest peak. For many, a stay in the High Atlas Mountains is a pit stop en route to Ouarzazate, the launch pad for camping tours and desert camel treks. Experience the grandeur of the Atlas Mountains on a day trip from Marrakech, which might include activities such as quad biking, hot air ballooning, or a visit to a Berber village.

Amazing experience
It was one of the best experience of my life, Mohammad was very kind and helpful he made sure we see and enjoy every single bit. The Guide Rasheed was a great person with lots of knowledge about the place. Bought some Argan oil on our breakfast break which was amazing. The Camel ride was fantastic then served with tea. Overall great experience will definitely recommend it. Note: make sure you take your trainers and a bottle of water

Really great day Atlas Mountains 5 Valley day trip ! Abdullah was fantastic tour guide. We stopped in so many places and saw so many amazing views. The Hike was quite hard work but definitely worthwhile & highly recommended. Seeing the waterfall at the top was fab. Walking through the market stalls, watching the ladies make Argan Oil and the lunch in the Berber family house was so good. Would 100% recommend this trip !!

Day Excursion To Ourika Valley and High Atlas From Marrakech: Shared
A trip to the atlas mountains and the waterfalls has you in awe of the scenery and the colorful people. Have lunch in the river and try some of the local cuisine. A tough trip up the mountain to the waterfalls but well worth it. Were good shoes made for climbing over rocks. (you won't regret it). We had a great tour guide who assisted us all the way, he was also very knowledgeable.

2 Day Trek in Atlas Mountains and Berber villages from Marrakech Private guided
My trip into the Atlas Mountains was amazing. I’ve met so many beautiful people and was welcomed into the Berber Villages with open arms. My guide Mohammed Bowajamor was very kind, helpful and fun to spend time with. Couldn’t ask for a better guide as he made sure I was ok and happy at all times.

Desert Agafay and Atlas Mountains & Camel ride Day Trip From Marrakech
We had such an amazing day trip with Ibrahim! We loved the walk in the Atlas Mountains was so beautiful with amazing views of the mountains, river and waterfalls. The lunch at Ibrahim’s house was amazing with more food than we could eat, including delicious tagine, couscous, salad and fruit for desert, all served on a beautiful roof terrace with views of the mountains. I would definitely recommend

3 Day Trek in the Atlas Mountains and Berber Villages from Marrakech
Walking the Atlas Mountains is a remarkable experience. The people are kind and generous, and the landscape is breathtaking. Our guide took great care of us, and throughout the journey he was able to modify our route to accommodate our different comfort levels (60 year old father with 22 year old daughter). It was a truly unforgettable experience.

Desert Agafay & Atlas Mountains & Waterfalls, Camel ride Day Trip From Marrakech
We had an awesome time, our guide Hussain was so friendly and explained everything so well. He took great care of us and made our tour a time to remember. Our driver was brilliant and the car was very cleans with A/C as we had 3 children with us this helped them keep cool in the car. I would definitely recommend both Hussain and Hamid for this excursion.

Atlas Mountains & 5 Valleys Day Tour from Marrakech - All inclusive -
Marone was our guide and he was excellent!!! Our fabulous day started with the nicest of greetings in a clean and comfortable air conditioned van. The itinerary was perfect—a stop at a Berber store, guided hike to the waterfall, delicious lunch, and stops at all valleys while providing water, snacks and excellent guiding along the way. Highly recommend for those who can walk good distances and who want to really see and experience the mountains, valleys and a bit of Berber life!

The tour was truly amazing and super fun. Mohammad was the best guide we could have asked for as he was really knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. He was great to have conversations with and speaks 4 different languages. I highly recommend booking a tour with him. The van that we were in was in pristine condition and was essentially new.

Magical Dinner in Marrakech Desert and camel ride at sunset with Transportation
The tour was very good! The driver of the tour Salh, has been amazing! He went above and beyond for us. He picked us up in our Riad, he is very enthusiastic and entertaining person. Morocco is beautiful! With all it’s culture and nature. The down side was we waited for almost 45 mins to get our food from the trip and it was afternoon already. But overall, a great experience! Would recommend this trip especially with Salh!

Dades Gorge, famous for growing Damascus roses, is a favorite destination for climbers, hikers, and white-water rafters. The rivers of the Middle Atlas feed the beautiful Ouzoud Falls, while Ifrane, the gateway town of the region, looks right out of the French Alps.
