Atlas Mountains and Three Valleys & Waterfalls - Camel ride Day Trip Marrakech
Experiencing the Berber life
, Feb 2020
We were collected from our hotel at 8:30 by Omar and Ali. We went on to collect the other 2 couples making us a group of 6.
Travelled first to the camel ride. We were given tea while waiting for our turn. Then we were dressed in the Arabian clothes. Our tour guide made sure we had out photos during the camel ride.
Then we made our way up the mountains into the Berber villages, we stopped about every 20 minutes for photo opportunity's. The guides told us about the local area and traditions. The views are amazing. We were dropped off with our tour guide in a village and we made our way up the mountain to the waterfalls. He talked to us about the villagers and their lives. It was very interesting to see their way of life.
We walked for most of the day always stopping so we could take photos and see the scenery.
We went into a lady's house for tea, we left her some money to say thank you for her hospitality. (We wasn't asked to do this!) She was very grateful for our donation though. (Remember to take off your shoes)
Our last stop was for dinner, we had lentil soup with bread and a vegetable tagine, this was an extra 130 Dirham for 2 people (£11 GBP)
Then we were picked up from around the corner and taken back to the city. We got back around 6pm.
I would recommend this trip, it was a fantastic day out for only around £30 per person (including the dinner cost)
Clothes wise I wore baggy trousers and a t-shirt with a cardigan, when we left in the morning it was foggy and cold but by the afternoon walking in the 25degree heat you need to take the layers off. It doesn't feel as hot in the mountains as your high up but it's not cold either, especially when your walking. It the locals are all wearing winter clothing?!
This has to be the best value in Marrakech. The van was clean. The driver polite and attentive. But the highlight of the experience was our guide at the mountain! Good English, great personality, and very attentive throughout the whole adventure.
Great experience all day. Shortish journey - 1.5 hours each way - through fascinating landscapes with well-organised camel ride and great argan co-operative with knowledgeable, friendly and interested demonstrator. The walk was great, well-judged distance and difficulty, with a chatty and informative guide, and lunch was excellent - the best tajine of our visit to Morocco. Thoroughly recommend as a way of getting to know a bit more about Morocco.
Journey to Morocco’s Atlas Mountain area and spend the day exploring the Three Valleys with this private, full-day tour. Your guide plans out the whole day for you, including transportation and lunch, so that you can enjoy your explorations without worry. Go on a camel ride, and then stop for a cup of Moroccan tea and cake in Imlil Valley. Visit the home of a Berber family in Ait Souka to learn more about their everyday lifestyles, and end the day in Moulay Brahim near the Asni Valley.
All round great trip for the value. The guide Ismala gave us lots of useful information at points throughout the day and took us to his home. The driver got us safely around the mountain roads and to each point with no dramatic issues.
Camel ride was great, and looks like they are well looked after.
Walking through a Berber village was a good experience and seeing the mounatins. Lunch was great.
Note: timing on this website says 6 hours but it is a full day (was told to be expected back between 5-5.30 having set off at 9am. Actuall got back at 6pm). So be careful if have evening flights!
You don’t have to journey to the Sahara for a Moroccan desert experience—the Agafay Desert is a desert oasis located just outside of Marrakech. On this full-day tour, soak up the scenery as you travel through the High Atlas Mountains, stop to explore the local villages and visit a Berber souk, then mount up for a thrilling camel ride through the rocky desert of Agafay.
Hot Air Balloon Flight over Marrakech with Traditional Breakfast
Well organised and enjoyable.
, Feb 2020
A well organised and enjoyable experience. The communication, pick up and flight experience were all first class. Ahmed our driver was polite and a credit to the company, and Mahmoud the pilot made us feel in safe hands, even when taking us up to over 5,000 feet. This was a highlight of our trip to Marrakech. It is not a cheap experience, but good value when considering all the equipment and personnel which are required to make this such a safe and enjoyable experience. Recommended.
Good value from Viator and excellent on-air experience
, Jan 2020
An excellent on-air experience with very professional pilot supported by similarly sold ground staff. Rashid came to pick us up on time and took us the base arriving plenty of time ahead of sunrise. We were served withe fresh mint tea/coffee, followed with safety briefing from the pilot, Mahmoud (communicated in a humorous manner) then were invited out to watch the setting up of ballon. The ride was very steady and last about 30 minutes, raised to 5800 ft; good view of sun rise from the Atlas Mountains range and Marrakech city. We were then got service with very generous Berber breakfast, cold but nice with plenty of mint tea. The whole crew acted very professionally throughout the trip so I would recommend if you have urge for a hot air ballon ride.
I booked through Viator.com because it was better value and the whole communication process was seamless and efficient.
Watch the sun rise over red dust, palm groves, and majestic open landscapes from a hot air balloon. Flying with a small group of travelers and live commentary from your veteran pilot, soak up the sights as you glide through the air, then refuel with an authentic Berber breakfast in a Moroccan tent. For ease, your tour includes door-to-door round-trip transfers.
3 Days Desert Tour From Marrakech To Merzouga Dunes & Camel Trek
Awesome Desert Trip!
, Feb 2020
For the price, it was such a good deal and amazing experience. Our driver, Yousef, was very friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. It was cold at night in the desert, so if you’re going during the winter months, bring layers/hat/gloves! We got our own private room both nights, which was nice. The desert experience was surreal and the real reason worth going on the tour!
A perfect desert experience.... its a long journey from marrakech to the desert but the scenery was so beautiful... the bad thing here, it was so cold inside the tent, we did not had a good night sleep because it was very cold even im using 4 blankets!!! Kudos to our driver YOUSEF!!! He is very good.... if i will come back to morocco, i will do this tour again!!!
The tour was overall fantastic and certainly exceeded my expectations. Pick up was on time, which is a good start. Drop off was later than expected, around 830pm, but due to construction, so I won't dock them for that. The drive was long both ways, but I had just flown into Marrakesh the night before and I passed out during the majority of the drive there and back, so I can't comment on any conversation I had with the driver, but he didn't speak much English either way. There were many stops on the way over. Some of which they told us to jump out and take some pictures without any explanation as to what we were looking at and to be honest, had me scratching my head as to why we were even stopped. But it was a good chance to stretch my legs. For those with small bladders, there were also ample opportunities to use the restroom.
The food that was included was plentiful and decent. Typical breakfasts with mostly bread and maybe a hard boiled egg. Dinners were tajine, and weren't bad but not exceptional either. Lunches that you had to pay for were your typical 75-100 MAD (about 8-10 USD) meals that included a starter and a main dish, often times with tea included.
Accommodations really exceeded expectations. As a solo traveler, it was a nice surprise to get personal rooms for both nights. For the first night, I wouldn't expect a 5 star resort, but the place was clean and decent. Shower was hot. Towels and shampoo/soap were provided. For the second night, I swear my tent was colder than it was outside. Heavy blankets were provided, but I still slept fully clothed in my fleece and north face jacket underneath those blankets, and any part of my face that wasnt covered froze throughout the night, waking me up a couple times. But it's the desert, what do you expect? There was a separate tent for showers and restrooms. I didn't use the showers so I cant comment, but the sinks had warm running water, which was another pleasant surprise.
And lastly for the desert experience itself, it was of course as breathtaking as you'd expect. You get there around 4pm, ride camels to the spot where you watch the sunset, and get there with plenty of time to take pictures before that happens. I'd say we had maybe an hour to an hour and a half for pictures. Many of us wandered off to get different views. Expect to get sand in your shoes. It's inevitable. Sunset was gorgeous, and everything you'd expect it to be. The next morning, you ride camels to another location for sunrise which was a shorter experience and a bit more rushed, and then camels a bit more to the car for the long drive home.
All in all, a fantastic experience. Go in with reasonable expectations and you will be impressed.

High Atlas Mountains and 5 Valleys Day Trip from Marrakech - All inclusive -
From $76.97 (Price varies by group size )
, Jan 2020
Smart and funny guide plus safe driver and comfortable car, amazing landscapes, quite a lot of kilometres - driving, a bit of walking. Valleys really beautiful. Dinner at the berbers place in the village - house rather artificial, food okay.
What a pleasurable day! Absolutely recommended experience!
, Jan 2020
The tour provided by Morocco Inspiring Tours was fantastic!
Khalid (our driver) was great fun and extremely professional from pick-up until drop-off of every guest - and really managed to make the trip memorable.
Our guide (Abdul) during the hike to the Ourika waterfalls was equally amazing!
We all joined the tour on a sleepy morning and left with our hearts full of joy, our eyes full, our bellies stuffed with a delicious Berber lunch, and great new friends!
Thank you so so much!
I went to Marrakech early November. Abdullah was our tour guide and he did an amazing job. I do not always give people 5* review but he did such a good job that i had to. The Berber family whom we ate with were so welcoming and the food was amazing. I recommend using this company for a great tour.
Our transport was clean and the trip was amazing. He did stops so that we could take pictures. I was travelling solo but in my group, there was one other Canadian couple. We all had a lovely time chatting and just enjoying the trip.

Atlas Mountains Hot Air Balloon Ride from Marrakech with Berber Breakfast and Desert Camel Experience
A ‘must do’ in Marrakech
, Feb 2020
Experience of a lifetime. Very well organised, all involved were polite and friendly. Great service. Berber breakfast was delicious, very generous amounts of food. Hotel pick up was great, convenient and in time/ would recommend this trip to anyone.
Wow... absolutely recommended. I was a little nervous but from start to finish this was a great experience. I sent an iMessage to the local operator using hotel WiFi the day before and received a prompt response confirming pick up time. We were first to be picked up and the driver of our comfy 4x4 was on time. We stopped to pick up 4 other people then a short drive out of Marrakech to the balloon take off location. Coffee, a warm fire and pastries provided. It was a bit chilly as still dark so wear something warm. Met up with around 14 others for the flight which was amazing. No need for nerves the pilot was so relaxed and there’s a team there on take off and landing to help. Make sure you wear jeans or leggings - a skirt isn’t such a good idea for climbing into the basket - but don’t worry - I took my mum who is In her 70s and she managed just fine. You are in flight in time to see the sun rise over the Atlas Mountains which is just stunning. Landing was so gentle and smooth... and then a short drive by 4x4 back for breakfast. Stopped for Camel ride on the way back to Marrakech - I’ve been on a camel a few times but it was new to my mum - she was apprehensive but after a couple of minutes relaxed into it. A fantastic and really memorable experience- take a fully charged camera and enjoy 😀
Enjoy bird’s-eye views of Morocco’s deserts and the foothills of the Atlas Mountains on a sunrise hot-air balloon ride from Marrakech. Ride a 4x4 to the launch spot in the early morning and drift through the dawn skies over the desert valleys and hillsides just as the sun casts them in gold, orange and pink. Then, land safely back on ground to enjoy a tasty Berber breakfast and memorable camel ride. A flight certificate to commemorate your balloon ride is also included.
3-Day Tour: Marrakech to Merzouga by Way of Dadès Valley plus Erg Chebbi Camel Trek
Camels are fun but a lot of driving
, Feb 2020
Trip was as described. A LOT of hours on the road, but frequent stops for refreshments and bathroom breaks and a couple of photo ops helped. Bus is fairly comfortable except for the back seat which is truly HORRIBLE with a bumpy ride and a really limited view through the low windows. Excursions (3) are OK except for the one to a Berber village which is mostly a long sales stop at a carpet merchant. Driver Mohammed was friendly, cheerful and capable, but is NOT a guide, so very little information from him along the way. The local guides at the excursion sites are adequate but you don't learn much from them about Morocco.
The big deal here is the camel trek. You ride for about a hour to the campsite, stopping for just long enough to watch the sun set, and getting to the camp after dusk. A rather meagre dinner and some drumming around a campfire before bed (quite comfortable). Up before dawn, then another hour on the camels with a very short sunrise stop (not even getting off the camels) going back to the van for the 12 hour return drive to Marrakech. Some of the "romance" of the camel trek was diminished by all the ATV tracks along the route and the occasional 4x4 blowing by. No feeling of being in the middle of nowhere as we'd expected. It all felt a bit rushed and commercial but you DO get a real camel ride and a starry night in the desert. Fairly cheap trip: you get what you pay for. Once is definitely enough. Note: there was a lot of road construction that made the drive extra long, slow and painful.
Overall the experience is very rewarding. If you have only a few days to experience Morocco, I highly recommend this tour. Although the car rides are long, one gets to view the outskirts of Marrakech city, enjoy the berber villages and see the everyday-life of nomad tribes. Our car ride was better than expected and Abdou is a great driver and friendly host. He stops whenever a person needs and is very attentive to everyone. A few suggestions would be to be able to choose different restaurants when having lunch and that Ando Travel SARL might consider to further train their drivers to not only be good drivers but also be some sort of tourist guide.
Escape the busy streets of Marrakech’s Medina for the stark beauty of the desert during this 3-day excursion to Mezrouga and Erg Chebbi. Cross through the Atlas Mountains via the stunning Tizi-n-Tichka pass, explore the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Aït Benhaddou kashbah and visit the desert oasis at Skoura. Then discover the Todra Gorge and the sacred city of Rissani before spending the night amidst the stark beauty of the Sahara Desert. This 3-day, 2-night excursion also includes a driver (who also serves as guide), 2 nights of accommodation (one at a desert camp), camel trek, meals as per the itinerary, round-trip air-conditioned transport from your hotel.
Really good day out, our guide was great and spoke really good English which helped, it's a long drive but you get a pit stop just over half way. The waterfalls was a great experience, as were the monkeys. We didn't feel hassled to buy anything from the many stalls around but it would have been nice if we had some time to stop and look at them a bit more while walking around. The cafe was great, food was amazing for the price (100 dirham) which included bread, salad, a choice of main, fruit and bottled water. Overall a really good day, very informative and we would definitely recommend 🙂
It's a long 3 hour drive there and back and I had the misfortune of getting a seat in the back of the minivan where there really isn't enough room for comfortable seating. Our guide, Ibrahim, was fantastic but overall the tour is short and very touristy. The falls were not as interesting as I expected and the lunch was overpriced at 100 dh. The climb up the stairs to the top of the falls is challenging for a senior like me; this should be mentioned on the website.
would highly recommend, good value for money trip.we were collected early and taken from marrakesh to ouzed falls (approx 3 hrs) we stopped for a break on way and on way back.some level of fitness required as there is some walking and steep steps. After seeing the waterfall and going in the boat across the bottom of the falls (approx £2 extra) we then visited a traditional berber house and fed the monkeys that live near the waterfall.at the end our very good guide ibraham took us to a cafe nearby for a meal (approx £8 extra) there was a meat option chicken skewers and vegetable cous cous or vegetable tangine and cous cous ,the meal included salad ,bread and bottled water.
Drive into the beautiful High Atlas Mountains on a day trip from Marrakech to Ouzoud Falls, the highest waterfalls in North Africa. Travel through a landscape of rolling foothills and olive groves, then enjoy free time to relax by the 330-foot (110-meter) waterfalls. Cross the river on a hand-powered barge, visit cafes at the edge of the water, or check out the Barbary apes that live in the lush river valley. With the convenience of pre-booked transport, this Ouzoud Falls trip is a great day-long escape from bustling Marrakech.
Absolutely fantastic experience! I have nothing but good things to say about Dunes Desert. My three friends and I (all girls) did the full day program, including a camel ride in the morning, lunch, and then quad bikes in the afternoon. The guides were phenomenal and made the trip so enjoyable. The day was very relaxed and I never felt rushed to move on to the next activity which was a relief as some tours are on tight schedules. I would highly recommend using Dunes Desert to anyone. It was my favorite day I've had in awhile! Hopefully I'll be back for another excursion with them soon.
My friends and I did the camel and quad biking tour through Dunes & Desert and we could not have had a better experience! We all agree it was one of the coolest days of our lives! Everyone who worked there was so kind and made the experience casual, fun, and we did not feel rushed at all. I HIGHLY recommend doing both the camel & quad tour - I am so glad we got to experience both. And the lunch in between was even better than I could have asked for! We truly got the best experience all thanks to this amazing company and all the wonderful employees. If I could rate this higher than 5 stars I would!!
My partner and I chose to do the full day camel and quad biking tour. We were picked up on time in the morning, 6 minutes walk from our Riad and then we drove over to the site. We started off with the camel ride and the camels all looked very healthy and friendly. We went through the rock dessert and had mint tea and Moroccan pastry with a Berber man and had a relaxing time, speaking with the guides and other tourists. The guides are super friendly and make jokes and will take photos of you whilst you were on the camel walk. We then went back to have a three course lunch in the sun at our own personal tables, relaxing and enjoying being in the sun. We weren't rushed but there also wasn't any time wasting, it was a perfect day. We then had our quad experience and were given safety gear and a quick tutorial. My partner and I shared a quad and we drove one way each. It was an amazing experience, seeing ruins, villages with children playing and the various Mountains including the Atlas mountains. There's a variety of terrain like dry dirt and rocks which makes for a really fun experience. You drive all throughout the area and pass farm goats, go up near the mountains and a stream. In our group we had two quads and our driver so we were lucky to be in a small group. When we were at the half way point we stopped to take photos and have a break and two small children from the village came over. I'd definitely recommend tourists to bring maybe small books or colouring n pencils as I would have loved the give the children something nice but didn't have anything on me. Everyone was so friendly, accommodating and the professional photos available were worth the purchase. I'd definitely recommend this trip and company to a friend and I would definitely come back to try the dune buggy's next time. Loved the trip and so worth a day out in the Moroccan sun with other friendly tourists and guides.
Escape the bustling souks and discover the beauty of the Moroccan countryside on this camel and quad-biking tour from Marrakech. Explore the open desert with a guide during your camelback ride, and admire fine views over the rugged terrain. Enjoy a refreshing cup of Moroccan tea with a local family and gain insight into life outside the busy city. Following a traditional Moroccan tagine lunch, hop onto your powerful quad bike and zoom off through the palm groves. Spin past traditional Berber villages and farms, then return in comfort to Marrakech.

, Jan 2020
Despite booking less than 2 days ahead and missing my pickup time notification, the driver Mohammed came to the reception to ask for me and was really patient with me as I got ready having woken up sick with a nasty cough. The briefings were timely and perfectly delivered in plain English by guide, Mohammed (yes another Mohammed :)) who was equally really kind and caring ... and ended up being my photographer for the day too. What a cool dude! I enjoyed all aspects of the tour, you get whatever you put into it I guess. Can’t complain. You need to be reasonably fit to climb the Atlas mountain’s valleys. With some encouragement from the guide, I ended up doing the camel ride too.
Discovering I was sick, the guide offered that I sat next to him in front relieving me of the shame of being a nuisance to other passengers. Both checked on my welfare all through the day, even stopped by at the pharmacy for me to pick up medication and also stopped by at a shop for me on my way back to my hotel, which was very far away from the Centre. What a lovely safe company to have. Will definitely recommend!
This was a really nice tour. Lahcen was a great guide. We meet his family and had tea with them in his house in the 5 Villages area. The hike to the falls is not for everyone and proper shoes etc... are advised. I would not do the camel ride again. The camels did not look to be well cared for. One of them had the rope over its snout cutting deeply into its flesh.
Overall, a great trip. The small, villages stood in sharp contrast to the madness of the Medina in Marrakech.
Discover the Berber villages of the Atlas Mountains on a full-day trip from Marrakech that explores broad valleys and lush orchards with views of Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Ride a camel through a broad gorge, pause for tea in Imlil Valley, then hike to the isolated village of Ait Souka to share a meal in a Berber family’s home. Throughout the day, take in the mountains’ beautiful scenery: terraced gardens that climb steep hillsides, tumbling waterfalls, and an alpine kasbah.
Day Trip To Atlas Mountains and Three Valleys & Berber Villages from Marrakech
Fun experience at Atlas, villages and local food experience!
, Feb 2020
We got picked up by Baakenna Brahim at our hotel, 3 of us had so much fun starting off with the local breakfast at the village, following a nice chill walk to the waterfalls and took some nice pictures together with my friends, yummy tagine lunch on a roofless garden restaurant with Great views of the Atlas and ended off on a Camel ride and Moroccan tea ( a joke by Baakenna, as he says it was whiskey! However, very nice, warm tea before the dress up and the ride! 😊
The tour started with a nice warm local breakfast in the village, experience Argan oil & butter was very delicious ended off with Moroccan tea. Tagine chicken lunch on a roofless Resturant with views of atlas was great experience as well and Our guide Brahim was patient and taking care of the group the whole way. 👍🏼
Great day out with Omar B. & Hassan driving. We’re a family of 4 & took the tour yesterday. It was well organised, lots of different & interesting stops on the way to Imlil where we had a delicious lunch in a Berber home followed by a nice walk to the waterfall. Everything was great & it was excellent value for money- highly recommended.

Camel ride was amazing! Hamzi (our guide) is the best!
, Jan 2020
Quick ride from the Médina to the destination and Hamzi has the camels trained extremely well and he’s really
friendly, funny, and informative! He took great pictures for our instagram and really went above and beyond to make it a memorable experience. 10/10. Thanks Hamzi!
Hamza was a great guide and he made it a very fun experience. He took care of us and we all felt safe during the trip. Our driver was on time and very informative. He told us about his lifestyle and the lifestyle of his family who are nomads. I don't remember his name but I do remeber he is a singer and had a lovely voice. It was very intersting to learn about all of this. He recommended a restaurant to us and dropped us off there at the end of the tour. The food was lovely too.
Make like a true Moroccan with a classic mint tea and camel ride on this sunset experience from Marrakech. After pickup from your Marrakesh hotel, visit a traditional Berber home to enjoy a refreshing mint tea with a friendly Berber family. Next, continue to the Palmeraie, a palm grove that edges Marrakesh. Here, hop on a camel and enjoy a leisurely ride around the lush palms and sunset-washed sands of this picture-postcard grove.
I would consider this more of a transport trip, rather than a guided tour. We were in a convoy of three vehicles, and the guide joined us after the three odd hour drive from Marrakesh. I felt that he struggled to keep the entire (large) group engaged, and at times it was difficult to hear what he was saying. The city is beautiful, and the three hours free time is more than sufficient to explore, do some shopping, and grab a meal from the plentiful restaurants.
Spend a day in the seaside community of Essaouira on a full-day trip from Marrakech, and discover an atmospheric medina, colorful bazaars, and a center that bustles with open-air cafes and seafood restaurants. Pre-booking a ride to Essaouira is a hassle-free way of making the trip, with all transport by climate-controlled minivan, plus a short guided tour of the area before exploring independently. This trip includes pickup and drop-off at centrally-located hotels in Marrakech.
The cooking experience was highly recommended to us just one week before and we spontaneously booked it. It even surpassed our expectations. Our hosts demonstrated authentic Moroccan cooking and involved our small group of three in all the steps. The food was delicious and will be a lasting memory of Morocco.
This was a really great experience. Our hostess, Salma was lovely and patient and took us around the market to buy vegetables and meat. There were only 6 people in our group so we were able to get to know each other a bit.
Chef Khmisa didn't speak much english but she was quite funny while keeping us busy with cutting vegetables, measuring spices and mixing sauces. The meal turned out amazing. I thought I didn't like eggplant but the eggplant salad was delicious. Everything turned out really well and there was loads of food.
The cooking lesson was the perfect way to spend Christmas day. It was a highlight of our trip and I definitely recommend it.
Khmisa and Kawtar, two Moroccan women passionate about cooking, welcome you in Marrakech for a meal at Khmisa's place in the heart of the Medina in the pure Moroccan cuisine tradition and in a family and warm atmosphere. Khmisa, Chef for 25 years now, specialised in Morrocan cuisine and pastry, has worked for several renowned hotel establishments in the cities of Rabat and Marrakech. Kawtar, graduated with a bachelor degree in hospitality and tourism will also assist you during your cooking class and help with the communication between you and the Chef.
At the arrival, we will welcome you with a traditional mint tea and we will discuss with you about the menu choice which will be composed of the most typical best Moroccan dishes. the menu will be starter/ main course/desert. First we will go with Chef Khmisa to the Old Souk . A walk through the souk to buy the fresh ingredient. Once back home, we will start the preparation.
Atlas Mountains & 5 Valleys Day Tour from Marrakech - All inclusive -
, Jan 2020
Abdel was amazing, he taught us a lot and we saw wonderful things. The food at the Berber house was spectacular. The hike up the waterfall was brilliant, and the guide even showed us wild monkeys. Highly recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed this excursion. Our guide, Aziz was very knowledgeable and open. The only thing I would suggest is that the description of the hike is updated as it did include some scrambling up and over some steep rocks. I have a shoulder injury and it was very difficult and painful but once there I had to go ahead!
Experience four of the Atlas Mountains’ beautiful valleys and traditional Berber life on this full-day trip from Marrakech. Traveling into the mountains by 4x4 or minivan, discover the Ourika Valley with its waterfalls, the villages of the Oukaimeden Valley, and the orchards of the Asni Valley. Drive along the scenic mountain roads and enjoy lunch at a restaurant, or, if you wish, in a Berber family home. Upgrade to also visit Takerkoust Lake and the high Kik Plateau. Numbers are limited to seven for a more personalized experience.
My mother and I were surprised the drive was more than three hours but visiting the UNESCO site was well worth it. Our driver Hussein stopped so we could have breakfast and for pictures in several locations. He maneuvered the sometimes treacherous roads with expertise and had us back by 6:30. He made sure our guide Ali was waiting for us. Ali shared great historical and cultural stories, knew everything from names of plants, to effects of climate change, to movies and shows filmed there. He told us not only about history but the benefits of being a UNESCO site. Then dropped us off at hotel for lunch, which honestly was the only disappointing part because of the touristy atmosphere and westernized small menu (like pizza). Then Hussein was waiting for us when we were ready to return. There was no rush but we were satisfied.
I will come back and bring my family because there are stories for everyone’s interests. Thank you Hussein and Ali!
The kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou is one of the most popular day trip destinations from Marrakech. This guided tour visits the UNESCO World Heritage Site with spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert. Plus an optional camel ride through the desert, and lunch can easily be added to your experience.
It was okay. Nothing special, it’s lacking activities. Get ready for the ice cold desert. Did you he’s basically just driving around the cities with a van there is no activities at all the driver was just quiet the whole time the desert was pretty cold and after the dinner in the desert they just play some drums for like half an hour by the fire and you have to go to sleep there is literally nothing for you to entertain yourself unless for example you bring some whole alcohol or some table games so you can have fun.

We had a fantastic trip. After spending two full and interesting days in the crowded city of Marrakech, we were very happy to see more of the beautiful landscape of the Atlas mountains and the Sahara desert. We had a very good driver (Ibrahim) and an excellent tour guide (Mohammed) who shared a lot of information with us about both the islamic and the Berber culture and who was happy to answer every possible question we could have. If you can, book three nights - you won't regret it! Bring warm clothes for the desert and gloves for the camel safari (early in the morning it is really very cold) and also enough coins for the restroom stops!
The guide didn't speak a good english, he never explained well the plan or what were we going to do, too far from marrakesh, we spent three days in the car, we arrived late in the desert and left too early to enjoy our time there.
I took the trip with Moha (guide) and Ibrahim (driver). It far surpassed my expectations. I initially thought I would take a short trip, and maybe 3 days was too long. I also thought maybe it was a bit overpriced. I was wrong. Everything was wonderfully planned and authentic and I really feel like I got a taste of real Morocco. The guide really put his heart and soul into the experience and his love for his country and its people was so clear and infectious. Plus, the desert was a dream. . . something I had always wanted to do but until you really experience the desert you have no idea how magical it truly is. Lastly, I was traveling solo and I had wonderful accommodations and always felt at ease. 5 stars!

This was fantastic tour. I wish I would have booked the full day tour. Our tour guide was so knowledgable and informative. He was accommodating and helpful. I learned so much about Marrakech that I never would have known had I not taken this tour! I highly recommend this tour.
We only had a couple of days in Marrakech so this was a perfect way to see the main sights. We modified the itinerary a little to cater for my mother and went to YSL gardens and museum instead of doing the walking part of the tour. Nourdine was so accommodating and interesting to talk to. We learnt so much about Marrakech and Morocco in general and Having a lovely van and a driver made this a comfortable and enjoyable few hours. It was the highlight of our two days here. Thanks Nourdine!

So, please: Do yourself a favor and BOOK THIS TOUR! you will absolutely lovely and also come back to Marrakech fascinated.
Good day out, but go dressed ready to walk through the mountain. I would recommend trainers or walking shoes with comfortable trousers or shorts. Some in the group had loose fitting shoes which weren't ideal when navigating the mountain.
The tour could of included more historical information and general updates along the route but was overall a good day out.
Morocco’s Agafay Desert is a landscape of traditional Berber villages and spectacular mountain scenery—but its remote location makes exploring a challenge. On this tour, begin with pickup at your Marrakech hotel and spin through the foothills of the High Atlas mountains with your guide. Savor mint tea in a local Berber house and tackle the sandy terrain the traditional way on a camel safari.
