Colorbus Marseille Hop-On Hop-Off Sightseeing Tour
Great Day at Marseille
, Oct 2019
I highly recommend the Colorbus Hop On Hop Off Bus tour at Marseille. It was efficiently run and a great route around this truly amazing city. Only way to explore when time is short as we were on a cruise. The commentary was informative and bus driver was great.
The hop on and off was a great way to see the city in a few hours. We were on the blue line which had fewer people and the bus was smaller. I believe the red line goes to more places but we didn't have the time because we were there on a stop during our cruise.
I bought tickets online and thought the tour operator would be able to electronically scan the bar but no. We had to walk across the street to get paper tickets. Wasted a good 45 minutes. Otherwise the tour was ok.
Cruise the history-filled streets of Marseille during this fun and informative bus ride. If a sight catches your eye, then hop down and explore—you'll have unlimited opportunities to hop back on. Perfect for first-time visitors, the tour covers 25 different stops, from the Old Port to the castle that inspired The Count of Monte Cristo. Learn about each attraction with an onboard audio guide, available in 8 different languages.

Fantastic tour and amazing tour guide
, Jan 2020
This tour was amazing. If you can ride a bike you will love it. Learn about Marseille from a beautiful local. You get to see the whole city and learn about the history of this spectacular port. Highly recommended.
Despite a little confusion as to the pick up point at the cruise dock, we managed to meet our guide for the day, Valentino. After getting to our starting point, having a safety review and a quick lesson in operating the bikes we were off.
Valentino took us to some amazing locations where he gave us local histories and time to view the surroundings and take photos. One stop was at Vallon des Auffes, a great little fishing port. We stopped for lunch at a very nice seaside café prior to the climb to the Notre Dame de la Garde basilica where we watched military helicopters do training over the port.
Valentino is a fantastic guide. He is very knowledgeable about the history of Marseille, Very friendly, patient, kind, with some great stories.
Thank you Valentino for a great day.
Don't be afraid, just do it! Super nice family owned company with great guides. This was our first electric bike use and tour ever and it was awesome! We were on a cruise ship, I booked it thru Viator and they met us at our port and brought us to the bikes, gave us instructions, helmets and our small group of 8 followed our guide all over it was awesome!

Spin through the city streets with a guide, and discover top attractions such as Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica and the Palais du Pharo. A perfect walk through historic Marseille with Hugo
, Nov 2019
The best way to have a first impression of Marseille City and history is a walk in a very small group of people with a perfect guide like Hugo. To make small group walks is a perfect idea. Hugo has a perfect interesting and well informed way of telling Marseille history. Perfect tour.
Follow Marseille’s journey from ancient Greek port town to 2013 European Capital of Culture on this walking tour of Marseille’s historic center. Marvel at its medieval ruins; explore the atmospheric neighborhood of Le Panier; stroll around the Old Port; and admire landmarks such as Fort St Jean, the MUCEM, and the Cathédrale de la Major.
Our guide personalized this tour to our wishes since we had such a small group. He allowed us additional time in Aix en Provence because we were enjoying ourselves so much. He even purchased each of us a treat in a local bakery and had several recommendations for lunch depending on our preferences. We were all very pleased with his professionalism and personalized service.
Great shore excursion of three regional highlights!
, Sep 2019
We knew we wanted to see Aix-en-Provence, Cassis, and Marseille during our time in port, but it was difficult to find excursions (through the ship or independently) that provided all three. This one fit the bill! Posted this excursion on our CruiseCritic roll call and filled a private group of 7 quickly. Romain worked with us to change the time to suit our ship. Although he had a family situation arise, he arranged for his colleague, Benjamin, to escort us. Benjamin was gracious, patient, and informative throughout the day. We really appreciated his extensive walking tour in Aix-en-Provence, the orientation in Cassis, and the orientation to the Marseille cathedral. We also liked the balance of structured, guided time and the opportunity for free time. We were disappointed to not see the calanques or Cape Canaille, but the road was closed - not Benjamin's fault. Thanks for a great experience! Would definitely recommend.
Our guide, Romain, was very personable and informative. The group was a nice small size of about 15 which is perfect.
We rode on a small tour bus - it had decorations over some of the windows which was not the best, but we sat in the back with the clear window. It was air conditioned and comfortable.
He gave us free time here and there which was great, the market in Aix was awesome, I wish we had more time in it.
The only thing that was disappointing was that we didn't get to go on the boat tour in Cassis that I had read about in other tours, but that's my fault for not noticing it wasn't on the stop.
All in all I would recommend it. I was worried since there were no reviews, but it was great.

Noailles: a mixed neighborhood and its exotic market
Very Interesting Walking Tour
, Oct 2019
This was a very interesting walking tour through 3 different areas of Marseilles. Our guide, Ezekial, E.Z., was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Marseilles and the diversity of the area. Not a market tour in terms of shopping/food, but very interesting and we are all glad we took the time to learn more about the city.
We invite you to discover the exotic district of Noailles and its market located in the heart of Marseille. Discover the origin of the world's most famous national anthem, know where the world's first movie theater was, visit 200-year-old stores, and enter the colorful, bustling market and oriental spice shops. He will also talk about the drama that hit Aubagne Street and the fight of the inhabitants of the neighborhood against gentrification, unworthy housing and the fear of being expelled from their homes. All accompanied by a young anthropologist guide living in the neighborhood.

3 great places in Provence.
Arles - St Rémy - Les baux de Provence
I'll show you the city of Arles which has some of the best preserved Roman places in the region such as the amphitheatre & the theatre. Arles is also host to the International Photography Festival, a huge exposition with dozens of art galleries open from July to September. You'll discovered the places Van Gogh painted like the hospital, the bridge (a place in the middle of nowhere ), on the river "Le Rhône" waterfront (by night), outside a café.
Next stop, Les Baux de Provence with its medieval castle high on a hilltop village just a few miles from Arles.
Our last stop will be St Remy de Provence, a very nice little city with a lot of handcrafts & souvenirs shops, Van Gogh printed paintings along the road.
A lot of different aspects of Provence. And the cherries on the top? Olive oils & wine & chocolate tastings!
