New Year’s Eve in Naples

Celebrations in Italy are often marked with fireworks. Italians, almost to a person, love their firecrackers – but this affection is stronger in certain parts of the country, and in Naples it seems strongest of all. Neapolitan women are known for threatening to withhold sex if their men stay out all night playing with fireworks – but, truth be told, the boys usually stay out all night anyway. On New Year’s Eve, all bets are off – and all of Naples celebrates.
