Guided Naples Underground Tour with Optional Transport
, Aug 2019
The meeting place is a bit difficult to find for visitors, but the trip is interesting. We are all exciting while walking through those narrow long tunnels. The guild was good and gave us enough information to understand the underground world of Napoli. Worth to visit!
See the hidden world that lies underneath Naples' city streets with this half-day tour of Naples Underground. Follow an expert guide through underground tunnels in the heart of Naples, some dating back 2,400 years. Take an unforgettable journey back in time on this tour.
Pickup was messy. It was raining hard and the hotel pickup area did not even have cover from the rain. Pickups were disorganized and we had to drive to another location to wait for people to pickup one of the guides into another car. Guides did not speak at all for the ride and just chatted with each other.
Actual tour was better and guide had good nuggets of information. Most likely will not recommend this tour though.
The bus driver very friendly and staff on bus very friendly. We picked up alot of people so the bus seemed to take forever to get out of Naples and Naples traffic. We had perfect weather for seeing the ancient ruins. The guided tour of Pompeii not ideal as the audio to the ear phones kept cutting out so we couldn't always hear what the guide was saying. The tour group was too big and tour was done in both English and Italian meaning it took twice as long and made the tour guide's dialogue harder to follow. There was also alot of standing around waiting for things to be organised. The standing around time could have been better spent as break time as it was a hot day so going without a drink refreshment break from 8:30 am when bus picked us up til 2:15pm when we finally got our lunch break was too long. I was parched! The tour should advise to bring a bottle of water or offer bottles of water on the bus like other tours do. The Herculaneum tour very good. The tour was done only in English and could be heard better and the ruins themselves were better preserved than Pompeii and not as big an area to walk around.
We had a great time at this tour! Our guide Silvana was passionate about her job and made sure we had a good time walking around and learning the history behind those sights. I wish there were more professionals like her!
Food was ok but the portions were ridiculously small. I suggest the office take care of this.

Our trip was well organised, we spent a wonderful day with exploring Mount Vesuvius and the ruins of Pompeii. The people at Napoli Official Tours was extremely helpful. We just arrived to Naples in the morning and upon request they even provided us airport pick-up to make our departure much easier. Everything went smoothly. The weather was beautiful, we had enough time to visit both sights conveniently. It was just a fantastic day and I couldn't recommend it more!

Must do tour! Fabio was an excellent driver and the guides at the sights were also good
, Oct 2019
We were three couples traveling together staying at a villa in Amalfi. We wanted to go to Herculaneum, Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius but didn't want to drive ourselves and we wanted tour guides at the archaeological sites. This tour was perfect! We were picked up on time and drove to the sights in a spotless, comfortable Mercedes van by our excellent driver Fabio. He negotiated the very curvy and narrow roads safely while giving us information about the area. Our first tour was of Herculaneum by our very knowledgeable tour guide Hector. We saw the entire site and he provided us with a wealth of information but it was not overwhelming. He was great! We next visited Pompeii which was very crowded. Our tour guide was Daniele. We didn't see as much of Pompeii as it is very large but we were told a lot about it. We did a lot of walking but unlike our time at Herculaneum, we didn't feel that we saw all that we could. I think you'd need a lot more time to really experience Pompeii as you should and we were limited to two hours. We plan to go back. Next, Fabio took us to a winery where we had a tasting lunch. It was great and they took good care of us and got us in and out quickly so we could make it to Mt Vesuvius in enough time to climb to the top (you drive most of the way). It takes about an hour to climb to the top, look around and take pictures and then walk back down. It's a steep climb but we made it! Then we asked Fabio for a recommendation of a restaurant and he took us to one in Ravello at a hotel (I believe it was the Ravello View Hotel) and the food was very good. They arranged for a taxi to take us back to our villa in Amalfi after dinner. This tour was perfect for what we wanted to do. The communication with the tour company was also very good. Highly recommend!
Amazing experience, fantastic tour guide and driver
, Oct 2019
Enjoyed every minute of this tour. Can’t recommend this enough if you are looking to properly see Herculaneum and Pompei. Our driver Massimo was excellent and was happy to accommodate our requests - we chose to go to a winery for lunch and this was easily accounted for. Fantastic experience, must do!!

It was a nice tour. We were picked up on time and dropped off on time right where expected.
The tour of pompeii was awesome. I liked that we hit the highlights of Pompeii. If you have more time a longer tour would be better since its much larger than expected.

Naples is wrapped...
while its food and scenery command devotion, the city’s skulls and castles offer a glimpse into its violent past. Napoli, is an occult city, full of magic. A city where the mystery is hidden behind the art. A city where legends of ghosts still survive among seventeenth-century palaces.Naples is a city founded by a myth coming from far East. A city where the cult of Isis was the center of esoteric life. Walking through narrow streets, we will visit the historic sites of mysterious Naples.Sacred and profane, this is the Naples city with two faces, like Janus (juanuario - Gennaro). And before you even visit the cathedral where the remains of the saint patron (Saint Gennaro) are kept, you will stop to visit other souls, those "restless". The souls in purgatory, the skulls'c church. A must is the majestic Veiled Christ guarded in the most powerful temple of Neapolitan Masonry: chapel San Severo.Naples. Naples is also the place of Dracula and the company of The Dragon...
It was a very wet day and when we were picked up we were warned that the Vesuvius trip might not happen due to this. Therefore we weren't surprised when that happened. We were told to email to get that part refunded. The Pompei part was very good. Our guide had good knowledge of the site and the history surrounding it and was able to conjure up what we would have seen in the days before the eruption.
They made this tour so easy and stress free. From being picked up near your hotel to dedicated vans and buses- you didn't need to worry about anything. I had no idea that Pompeii was so huge- don't expect to see the whole thing. Mt Vesuvius had great views - but be warned that the climb is challenging!

Very well organized and our driver Rino could not have been more accommodating. He was professional and very knowledgeable of the arrears we visited. He made modifications to our trip based on the weather conditions ensuring we had an enjoyable day. The tour of Pompeii was amazing, our guide opened our eyes to many things we were not aware of. The winery tour was very good as well, their olives were amazing to eat ant the spicy bread was spectacular.
The visit to Pompeii, despite the oppressive heat and crowds was informative and educational. 1 hour 45 minute tour went by quickly. I could have spent more time there. The visit to the vineyard was fabulous. Lunch was out of the world good and we bought some bottles of wine and shipped home. Vesuvius was a bit of a disappointment. Took a while, long climb and visibility was nil. I guess if it was a clear day it might be worth it but would rather have had that time at Pompeii.

, Nov 2019
Our guide Otalo pointed out things on our tour that we would never had noticed. Quite knowledgeable. Our tour was in horrible rain and we asked Otalo and Dominic (taxi) to cut the tour a bit short. They adjusted the tour so that we saw the most important areas of both ruins. Many Thanks.

Private Shore Excursion from Naples to Pompeii, Sorrento and Positano
From $452.05 (Price varies by group size )

Probably my favorite tour or the one I enjoyed the most! Spectacular views. The tour guide not only stopped where we asked him to, but he also suggested perfect spots for pictures. He took us to the best restaurant in Positano, Constantine, with the best fresh fish, food and view. I recommended this restaurant to coworkers that were going to the same area after me and they were delighted. I love this trip so much that I would have no problem spending a whole Summer in this area when I retire. Next time I want to go to the beach! Bravo!
We had a great time. Our driver Marco was very professional. He made sure we had a great time. The ride to Positano was absolutely beautiful. He stopped a few times on the way to take photos of magnificent views and their were roadside venders with local products. We stopped in Sorrento for shopping which was a blast. We then proceeded to a mountain top restaurant where we had a DELICIOUS family style authentic Italian lunch. Best day ever!
We had a fabulous tour!!! Our driver was super and after chatting made some suggestions for us that we accepted and our day couldn't have been better thanks to him. Our Pompeii tour guide was also so very informative and charming. Such a great day and would highly recommend the tour and Viator for booking. Thank you guides and Viator!

The tour was great - a good mixture of stopping to admire the fabulous views and places along the coast, and knowledge and information about the area. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a tour with these ladies again

I booked this tour after returning to the States after seeing Pompeii and having friends tell me I should've seen Ercolano instead. Of course, seeing both would be ideal, but Ercolano is better-preserved, less crowded, and closer to Napoli. The logistics of the tour were well-done and even the lunch stop was excellent. Silvana, our guide, was very knowledgeable and I liked how she asked questions to make us think, rather than just reciting from a script.
Lunch with traditional Neapolitan cuisine and its tasting incredible plates.
Later, starting from the square of the Ercolano Scavi, the itinerary will touch the seventeenth-century Basilica Santa Maria di Pugliano, the ancient underground cemetery of the Archconfraternity of the Holy Trinity, via Cuparella, which runs along the Wood of Portici and that was the ancient road traveled from the church of Pugliano to the Bourbon Palace.
Francesca & Elena gave us a wonderful tour of Pompeii & perhaps the best pizza we have ever had. And oh my god, you get a huge pizza & soda all for $5 Euro. Come on! San Carlo will never be forgotten. And if you have never had a Cafe Nocciola, you have not lived.
