Few places offer a better introduction into Bahamian culture than the National Art Gallery of the Bahamas. The museum features a range of art from mainly Bahamian artists, concentrating on works from the late 20th century onward. The collection holds work in a diverse array of media, including ceramics, paintings, photography, sculpture, and textiles.
The gallery is housed in a beautifully restored 1860s villa. If you want a break from the beach, this is the perfect place to go to find out what Bahamian culture is all about.
Located on the northern coast in the center of the island, the National Art Gallery is easy to access and a short distance from most locations in Nassau.
