Got down to New Orleans and hankering for some good-time music? Don’t know what to listen to or where to go? Never you fear. The Ponderosa Stomp is here.

The Ponderosa Stomp was founded about 11 years ago by Ira “Dr. Ike” Padnos, a local New Orleanian who recognized the need for a music fest which would celebrate the origins and spirit of an indigenous Louisiana and other Southern music. What does this mean to you? This means that if you want to get a real New Orleans experience and listen to some of the music that plays in the backwoods bayous without heading out into the sticks, then head down to the Howlin’ Wolf this September 15th-17th. The music is dedicated to recognizing the architects of rock and roll, blues, jazz, swamp pop (yes, swamp pop), reggae, soul, and other even more esoteric music varietals.
