A trip worthwhile, is Maragogi in Recife, the capital of Frevo. Arriving in Recife, Boa Viagem Beach is a balanced mix of nature and modernity, on one side the sea and just behind the buildings.
The former prison built in the mid-19th century, currently houses the House of Culture, a beautiful arts and crafts center.
In Olinda, you'll see houses, cobblestone streets and countless slopes, as well as ancient churches like the São Bento Monastery, Igreja da Sé and Misericórdia. Absolutely worth seeing is the House of the Giant Dolls, one of Olinda's landmarks. A visit to Alto da Sé, and to the places where one of the biggest carnivals in Brazil takes place, enchants even the most inattentive visitor. For all its charm and cultural value, since 1982 it has been included in the list and declared by UNESCO "Historical and Cultural Heritage of Humanity".
