After the Vietnam war, many Vietnamese traveled to America looking for a fresh start. The neighborhood at the intersection of Mills Avenue and Hwy 50 in Orlando became a place where they settled in and started their own community, a "Little Vietnam". This is the largest asian community in Florida, and is rich with food, culture, art and more. This area is now one of Orlando's 10 Main Street Districts, called Mills50, due to the name of the two roads at the main intersection of this community. This 2 mile tour will introduce you to the flavors, sights, and stories of this unique Orlando community. We will take a look at the history, culture, art, and food of this area. You will learn about the areas Vietnamese community, LGBTQ centers, holistic centers, and local art, as well as sample a ton of food and drinks along the way.
