Montmartre

Paris, Ile-de-France

The Basics

Montmartre is included in many city sightseeing tours alongside other top attractions, which are great options for time-pressed travelers in Paris. For a more in-depth look at Montmartre, select an experience tailored to your interests, such as a Montmartre food tour or an art-themed walking tour. For nighttime fun, head to a cabaret show at the Moulin Rouge, located down the hill in Pigalle. Of course, Montmartre can also be visited independently.

A walk worth taking
Our guide Remi was great. The Montmarte neighborhood is absolutely beautiful so even without the history it would be worth taking the tour. Learning about the history of the area adds to tour. And Sacre Coer is spectacular

Solo Traveling Through Parisian Foods

Montmartre Hill Sweet & Savory French Gourmet Food & Wine Tasting Tour
This tasting tour of Montmartre was fantastic. The tour guide Steph was very personable and knowledgeable about French cuisine. All the stops had amazing foods and sweets to try. We even had a chance to taste wine and cheese at a restaurant owned by one of the staff. Everything was excellent and well worth the cost. It’s perfect for solo travelers too - I even made some friends also traveling alone. Highly recommended tour!

Montmartre is what I pictured Paris to be! It is very picturesque and learning the history of the area was very interesting. Walking up the small streets toward the church was an amazing adventure.

What a delightful few hours with our charming and professional guide Mitch! As a 10-year resident of Montmartre, he shared a real passion and love for his neighborhood. A perfect blend of history, sightseeing and storytelling. Plus he treated us to the BEST croissants at his favorite boulangerie!

Montmartre The Private Food Tasting Tour with a French Gastronomy Expert
Wonderful time exploring Montmartre with local guide Julie - tasting delicious Parisian and French foods -pastries, chocolate, cheese -along w learning about their history and the history of Montmartre. The stop at Titi with chef Stephane with wine and cheese tasting was a highlight. The tour takes you along winding streets of the former village and out of the main tourist area while slowly making your way to Sacre Coeur. Exceptional!

Montmartre Walking Tour with a Private Local Guide
As someone who lives in Montmartre herself, the guide was well versed on the history of the area, the famous artists who have lived there, and especially the interior of Sacré-Cœur. She is articulate, has a good sense of humor, and speaks excellent English. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

The Montmartre Walking Tour Experience
Our guide Daniel was very knowledgeable, friendly, funny, helpful and passionate about showing us the well-known, and some secret spots of Montmartre. A dazzling tour, but be prepared for some hilly terrain. Well worth the effort! Thank you Daniel.

Discover Paris: Hidden Montmartre Tour
Our guide Camila was excellent! Her passion for Montmartre was evident throughout the tour. We learnt so much about the history, the occupants and their art, I would encourage anyone with a desire to 'get under the skin' of the area to join a tour! Thank you for making our visit so special.

Romantic Paris: "Lost Lovers in Montmartre" Exploration Game
On few occasions the directions could be little more specific, be aware that the area contains many hills and stairs, other than that, we had a brilliant time exploring Montmartre finishing off with beautiful tour in Sacre Coeur and views over Paris. Would definitely recommend ☺️

Visit Paris' Only Working Vineyard

Less of a secret than it used to be but still an interesting hidden gem, Le Clos Montmartre is the only working vineyard in Paris. Set on the slopes of the hill, north of Place du Tertre, the vines were originally planted to defend the area from property development and are owned by the city. Catching a glimpse of the vineyard offers a nice respite from Montmartre’s crowds and while it’s not open to the general public, you can book a tour.
