The Louvre is a massive museum and booking a Skip the Line: Guided tour is the only way to visit.
Ruben, our guide, was fantastic; approachable, clever and funny. He shepherded us through the entry point - quick, easy, and past the massive lines - into the museum. His knowledge is extensive and his obvious passion is an asset to the experience.
He told wonderful stories (the gossip about the Mona Lisa is saucy!), revealed the meanings to various paintings the tour focused on (why is Napoleon dressed like a Roman emperor?) and knew the building well enough to quickly point us toward the exhibits we wanted to see once the tour was done.
We'd definitely book again with City Wonders Ltd Tours on our next visit.
Experience culture and art through the ages with a small-group tour of Paris’ epic Louvre Museum. Jump the queue and learn about some of the museum’s 35,000 artworks across eight themed galleries from your art historian guide. Then enjoy time on your own to explore, viewing paintings, sculpture, and architecture from 450 BC to the 19th century. Numbers are limited to 25 on this small-group tour or upgrade your ticket to a private tour exclusive to just your group.
Highly recommend this tour for a memorable, though-provoking Louvre experience
, Jan 2020
We booked a skip-the-line private Louvre tour for our family, including one 6 year old. None of us had ever been to the Louvre, largely owing to its overwhelming size. I highly recommend booking this tour particularly for those who are not familiar with the museum, are short on time, appreciate convenience and/or want to have a meaningful experience within a relatively short period of time.
We were pleased with every aspect of our tour - from the initial booking, meeting our guide Alex, entering the museum and exploring its vast riches. The booking was easy, and we received confirmation with instructions following the booking. As promised, we then received another email the night before with the name of our guide and his contact information.
We easily found our guide, Alex, who took us through a less crowded entrance quickly. For the next 2.5 hours, without a map, Alex led us through the highlights, holding our undivided attention and giving us a wonderful art history tour that we are still talking about - even our 6 year old daughter. He also managed to keep her engaged throughout the tour.
If you are considering a tour, you will not go wrong with this one or with Alex if he is your guide.
Prepare to be inspired by some of the world’s most famous artists as you step inside the iconic Louvre Museum. Head straight to the front of the queue with skip-the-line entrance, then journey through art history on a private tour. With the help of your expert guide, see masterpieces like the 'Venus de Milo' and the 'Mona Lisa,' learn about the evolution of art around the world, and discover little-known gems that many visitors miss.
Best way to start the Parisian experience! Highly recommended
, Feb 2020
It was my first day in Paris and what a way to start this trip! Nancy, our guide was waiting for the group by the group entrance and she was a delight. Friendly and very knowledgeable. The 3.5 hours flew by, what an incredible first experience in the #1 museum in the world. Nancy covered all the key masterpieces and even had time to show us more than was originally planned. I recommend this tour, you won't be disappointed!
Great tour with good information. Violet shares details and information, but not so much that you get bored. We learned many new things and enjoyed all the exhibits that were highlighted. This tour was well worth purchasing.
The tour was well organised and it made visiting the Louvre an easy and fun experience. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the art works and the history of the museum. We had a great time and we would thoroughly recommend the tour.
Visit the Musée du Louvre to see its most famous artwork, Leonardo da Vinci's 'Mona Lisa,' without the typical crowds on this tour that provides skip-the-line access for the museum's last entry of the day. Enter the museum as it's getting ready to close, taking advantage of this time of day to admire the painting among fewer people. Plus, see the museum's other masterpieces with an art historian guide. Tour is limited to 15 people for a small-group experience.
Loire Valley Castles Tour from Paris: Chambord, Chenonceau with Lunch & Wine
Great daytrip for Couples
, Jan 2020
My partner and I had a great time on the castle/wine tour. Our tour visited the impressive Chambord and Chenonceau castles while stopping for lunch and wine tasting at a lovely family owned castle in-between. Plenty of wine to be had through the trip and the food was lovely. We had Michelle as our tour guide and she was great! Super knowledgeable about French history and told us many interesting stories about the region. She also spent time after the tour answering everyones general questions about Paris. So helpful!
Fantastic tour of the Loire chateaux and superb lunch at chateau Nitray winery. Thank you Paris City Wonders for a great day. And our guide, Michelle, was wonderful. Couldn't recommend this tour highly enough. Do yourself a favour when you are Paris and book this tour.
Overall we enjoyed the tour, however, we got a little lost trying to get to the pick-up point and were scolded when we arrived late. Thank goodness the bus driver saw us! One of the tour guides took advantage of the wine tasting too much. I enjoyed the history lessons.
Marvel at the Loire Valley's opulent châteaux and taste its famous locally-made wine during this full-day tour from Paris. First head to Chateau de Chambord—the inspiration for Disney's 'Beauty and the Beast'—for a guided tour. Then, relax midday with a traditional French lunch at Nitray Vineyards, with unlimited wine. Then, visit the elegant Château de Chenonceau and embark on a tour through its intricately carved stone walls, rich hanging tapestries, and intimate chapel.
When I booked this tour, I knew little about the Musee d'Orsay, just that so many people I knew who had visited Paris said it was a must-see. Thanks to this tour and our amazing guide Tristan, my family (two adults, plus 12- and 10-year-old sons) and I feel like we understood not just the "what" of the museum and its works, but the "why" as well. Tristan, who had a fabulous sense of humor as well as deep knowledge about art history, was so good at explaining the big picture history of the art movements represented in the works that we saw; for the first time, I feel like I really get how the various movements flowed and influenced each other. It was very clear that Tristan loves his work. He also deftly handled some of the more scandalous art in a way that was appropriate for our kids, which we deeply appreciated. For that reason I'd highly recommend this tour for families wanting to visit the Musee d'Orsay.
Explore one of the world's most important collections of impressionist and post-impressionist art on this guided tour of the Musée d'Orsay. Instead of trying to navigate the museum on your own, you'll enjoy insight from a guide to make sure you see the top pieces and learn about the artists, such as Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, and Renoir.
A beautiful building filled with a huge collection of fine art. The tour guide was especially helpful in making sense of the different styles a schools the different masters represented. This was a fully loaded educational session for my children and me.
Erell was our tour guide. She sent a text message the day before the tour confirming it and where, exactly, we would meet. That is great because the area is large and it was our first time in Paris. The museum is amazing, the art is phenomenal, and the tour was perfect. Erell was very knowledgeable about the artwork and history of the museum. Time flew by and we were actually a bit over on the time. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the museum. So much more information than just the ear phone tour.
Discover the world’s largest collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art on a private tour of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. Bypass the long entrance queues with skip-the-line access (admission tickets not included), and let an art historian guide lead you straight to masterworks by Monet, Cézanne, Renoir, Degas and more. Enjoy personalized attention from your guide and learn the history behind the art for a truly immersive experience.
Excellent guide, but tour format could use improvement
, Oct 2019
Emelie is a wonderful tour guide and provides great information! Thank you, Emelie!
However, the format of the tour itself could use some improvement. I suggest a different starting point that cuts down on overall walking distance, incorporate more information while on the move, and/or possibly consider either adding food stops or removing them from the agenda.
I highly recommend. We had a total of 5 people on the tour. Raphael was knowledgeable and so cool! We had fun laughing with him. We tried Macron, cheese, bread and wine in out of the way places. It wasn't touristy and crowded. If you can do the all day tour I would. We were mad we didn't sign up. Didn't want to say goodbye!
Uncover the little-known treasures of Paris on this insider walking tour with a savvy guide. Explore arcaded pathways, hidden alleys and grand boulevards, marveling at Belle Époque architecture and visiting specialty food shops to sample macarons and artisan cheeses. You’ll see top attractions like the Louvre and neighborhood gems like quaint cafes in Le Marais district. As you walk, you'll learn the history of this contemporary city and its ancient roots.
Best of Versailles Day Trip with Skip-the-Line Access & Lunch from Paris
Ricardo was Amazing
, Sep 2019
Everyone told us to skip Versailles because the lines would be too long and it would be so crowded we would not enjoy it. So wrong!!! Our guide Ricardo was not only knowledgeable about the history, but he knew how to navigate the site so efficiently that not a moment was wasted on a line!!
It was our lucky day - this turned into a private tour as we were the only couple signed up that particular day. Our guide did a spectacular job of getting us to the gates and positioned for entry at our pre-assigned time. She then guided us well through the palace itself over about an hour's time. We then had time to peruse the gardens on our own before meeting at a pre-assigned time and location near the Grand Canal for a 3 course lunch. Following lunch, we were driven a short distance to the Grand Trianon an Petit Trianon. From there, I wandered on my own to Marie Antoinette's village before returning to the vehicle for return trip to Paris. Pick up was near the Eiffel Tower and very convenient to our hotel.
Delve into the Versaille’s visionary architectural array on a comprehensive full-day tour from Paris. Sail past long lines outside of the Palace of Versailles with your priority-access pass. Embark on a guided tour of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed wonder and see grand chambers like the Hall of Mirrors. Absorb the botanical beauty of the palace gardens, and then head to an esteemed restaurant by for a gourmet 3-course lunch (if option selected). Conclude with a visit to the Queen’s Hamlet and the Grand Trianon.
Wonderful tour with a highly knowledgeable guide - David! We were, unfortunately, very limited in our time in Paris, so it was important to us to have a guide who could get us into the museum quickly and take us to see some of the pieces we considered highlights. David was perfect for the job. He knows a lot about the museum, the art and history. In addition, David took many photos and educated us on how to get the best lighting and angles of the art we photographed. Wonderful afternoon!
We had a wonderful private tour of the Louvre. Christophe, our guide, did an outstanding job. He is not only very knowledgeable about the museum, he also has an excellent way of explaining it. We needed wheelchair assistance for one of our group and he did a great job of arranging that and guiding us around the building.
Maximize your time at the Louvre with skip-the-line entrance and a private guided tour for you and your party. Take all the hassle out of exploring the world’s largest museum, as your guide whisks you to star attractions like the ‘Mona Lisa’, ‘Raft of the Medusa’ and ‘Venus de Milo’, and points out lesser-known gems among the vast exhibitions. Best of all: your private tour can be tailored to your preferences and you can stay at the museum as long as you like after the tour ends.

Excellent tour with a great guide
, Feb 2020
We selected two guided tours from Babylon tours; the first was at the Orsay Museum & the second was at the Louvre. We selected them separately, but scheduled them back to back on the same day.
From the start Babylon tours was nothing but professional. They sent a confirmation email (directly), later on an update with details on where to meet (photos included) with our tour guide's name and finally a reminder email the evening before. I was impressed with their attention to detail before our tours even started.
This was awesome, we had the same guide (Lucia) for both tours. We ended up walking together from the Orsay to the Louvre. Once again, probably since it was January and fairly cold outside, no one else had signed up for the museum tour...another private tour!
Once again the tour was great; Lucia was very knowledgeable about the sculptures, history and artwork. She has a small binder with additional reference material to share for some of the more well know pieces. The pacing of the tour was great, we took plenty of photos and had a great time. 2 1/2 hours is not even close enough to see everything, but it's a good start. We were told that at 3 minutes per piece of art, you would spend 3 months in the Louvre trying to see everything.
I would definitely recommend a guided tour if this is your first time visiting the museum. Babylon tours as a company was great to deal with and Lucia was an excellent guide and we enjoyed spending our day with her.
Glad we were able to skip the LONG lines. We were blessed with the best tour guide we have ever enjoyed with Lili Perovic. She was absolutely incredible, personable, funny and had an incredible depth of knowledge, She taught us things we would have never found in any book and made the art come to life. Awesome experience! We highly recommend this tour!!

Giverny and Monet's Garden Small Group Day Trip from Paris
Giverny and Monets Garden
, Nov 2019
Very happy with the overall tour. Driver arrived exactly on time. The drive from Paris to Giverny was very pleasant. Gardens were impressive. Only improvement would be having more time to enjoy these stunning gardens.
Just what I was looking for. A small group tour (8 ppl) in a minivan which took us to Monet’s home. His garden was amazing, his lulu pond surreal just like you were there as he painted a scene and his home amazing. I felt so lucky to be able to roamFreely they his property and home. Amazing afternoon so worth the experience with commentary and personal touches from our driver
Take a day trip to Giverny to see the garden depicted in so many of Claude Monet's masterpieces. Tour the artist’s former home, now a museum, and explore his beautiful gardens at your leisure—the water lily garden is particularly famous. Visit the nearby Museum of Impressionism to see more great works from the Impressionists. This half-day, small-group tour from Paris is self-guided, which means you get to see Giverny’s attractions at your own pace. Pickup and drop-off from your central Paris hotel is included.

As first time visitors to Paris, this is the best way to see these museums. Not only did we skip the line but Claudia, our guide, was very knowledgeable and fun to spend the day with. It does involve a lot of walking and climbing of stairs but I’d do it again in a NY minute.
Enjoy skip-the-line access to two of Paris' most popular art museums on this small-group tour of the enormous Louvre Museum and the Musée d’Orsay. Avoid wasting time waiting in the long lines that often form at these top attractions, plus get guided tours of both so you don't miss any of the masterpieces they contain. Group size is limited to eight to ensure a personalized experience.
The bike ride was too difficult for me and it was pouring rain and there was no alternate plan for arrival to Giverny. The guide was excellent and the gardens are a must-see. But be aware that if you are not a skilled rider, and able to climb hills just take an ordinary tour. This tour consists of stopping in a village near Giverny to purchase your own picnic lunch, riding to a park to eat your lunch, and then riding 2 miles to Giverny, where you walk through the gardens and museum/house, then ride back. Again, Giverny is beautiful and a must-see while in the Paris region, but only do this if you are normal weight, (I am overweight and found the bicycle unable to support me) and a good rider. I only gave them 4 stars since it was pouring rain and we were still expected to ride bicycles with no contingency plan.
This bike tour was amazing! We took an hour long bus tour to Vernon. In Vernon, we shopped for lunch and visited an old church. We felt like Parisians shopping in the village for our lunch. We had a wonderful picnic lunch along the river. The bike ride was fabulous and all ages and levels can do it. I found it to be very organized and felt that we had adequate time in Monet's gardens. This tour was one of the highlights of our trip!
See Claude Monet’s gardens at Giverny on this enchanting, full-day bike tour from Paris. Ride through the scenic wheat and sunflower fields of the French countryside, and cycle through the beautiful town where Monet lived and worked. Tour the painter’s home and the gardens that inspired some of the most ionic works of the Impressionist period, and explore Giverny’s charming streets, cafes, and museums.
What an amazing tour! Our private guide, Maurizio was terrific. I consider myself educated but know very little about art history. The tour was outstanding and I really felt that we got everything and more out of our 2 hr visit to the Musee d’Orsay. Very highly recommend!
Privileged to enjoy a 2 hour private tour for 2 with Mauricio. He was educated, interesting and humorous. Made his points but also willing to tailor tour to our interests. Museum focuses on 19th & early 20th century art, perhaps my favorite period. And the former railroad station, offering panoramic views of Paris from the top floor, is magnificent. Look up Mauricio; you won't be disappointed.

Musee d'Orsay Private Tour
Jim Bobbie P
, Oct 2019
Our guide, Daniel, was excellent. Very, very knowledgeable of the museum and art. We enjoyed his presentation and learned a lot. He covered the museum quite well and left us time to browse by ourselves. Overall we thought it exceeded our expectations.
While we had a pleasant ,and informative guide she seemed to be in a rush. My elder mother and I were rushing around to keep up with her....until we just had to walk at our own pace. Additionally, the description states a 2-2.5hr tour and we were finished in 2hrs flat...as if it was a race. So while the idea of this tour sounds great, buyer beware.
Marvel over the masters of impressionism on a private 2 to 2.5-hour tour of the Musee d'Orsay (Orsay Museum) in Paris and avoid the queues with skip-the-line entrance. See lesser-known masterpieces by Degas, Gauguin, and more.
Amazing tour with a very knowledgeable and personable guide, Suzanne. Company was very quick in responding when we were an hour ahead of time for our tour. We opted to stay on for another two hours and explore the Louve for ourselves! The fact that the tour was in English allowed us to make some great connections with other travellers as well. Very happy to have booked this tour and happily recommend WALKS tours to anyone who asks!
It was a very busy day at the Louvre but our guide did an excellent job of navigating the crowds. Her commentary was fun and informative. We especially enjoyed the extra tidbits she gave us about the various art we looked at and kept us entertained during our waiting in line, especially for the Mona Lisa. Another unique attribute is that she remembered almost everyone's name during the tour. Very impressive!

The Fat Tire tour of Monet's garden is a must do! We have been travelling Europe for 5 months and done many Viator tours. They have all been good but this was a stand out. The tour guides Eugenia and Kit were incredible; so knowledgeable and personable. I feel like I have come away with a new understanding of impressionism. The side visit to Vernon was fun, and the picnic by the river a great way to relax before taking in the vision of Monet's garden and house. This was the best - thank you Kit and Eugenia!

Giverny including Monet’s Gardens and Gravesite Small-Group Half-Day Trip
One of the best tours we've been on
, Nov 2019
Exactly what we wanted plus more. The experience of going to see the gardens and property of Monet with the freedom to walk around and explore on our own. Our guide Nina was nice and informative and gave great background history and context which is always a must to appreciate the meaning behind where you visit. Plus carpooling with a group is always more fun than going alone, sharing impressions and thoughts. Getting to see Monet's grave afterwards was very cool, got to learn about the town of Giverny and not just the one property that tourists are only interested in.
