This may or may not be where patriotic upholsterer Betsy Ross lived when she made the original Stars & Stripes, but it’s certainly one of the most visited attractions in Philadelphia. Set just a few blocks west of Independence Hall near ...

It was raining the day we did this tour, but our guide did an excellent job covering all the sites. He pointed out the history of the area, he also pointed out the fake tourist sites that had been created in the name of tourism. e.g. Betsy Ross' house is a fake, she did spend some time in Phili but not at the house indicated. The tour ended up in the pub having a beer.

Our guide was very knowledgeable and nice. I wish he would have slowed down just a little at each place and allowed questions. He seemed to have his script and unless you happened to be up front walking with him there was no interaction. It was also a little misleading - I purposely picked this tour because it said we would see the Liberty Bell and the Betsy Ross house. We saw both of these from a distance on the tour, not up close like I thought we would do. All in all I'm glad we did the tour and was very happy with it - other than those 2 things I mentioned.

If this had been the only tour I booked for Philly, I would have been very disappointed. It was a nice walk, and I got to see sites, like the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, that I didn't see from the bus; however, it didn't cover many other worthwhile sites, such as the Betsy Ross House or the Christ Church graveyard. I was very happy to get to go inside Christ Church, though, and sit in George Washington's pew!

Our first bus at stop 1 was good. Air conditioned on a very hot day and too hot for us up top. Once around and hopped off and had lunch and hopped on again at Betsy Ross house to a very DIRTY LOUD HOT bus. Got off as quickly as possible and then boarded an A/C bus which was cool but very OLD and dirty and couldn't see out the windows with the covering for ads on the outside! If I had been on this bus first I wouldn't have seen anything! I would not recommend this to anyone.
