Carretera Federal Libre Chetumal – Puerto Juarez Km 283.5, Ejido Sur, Playa del Carmen

The Basics

Most Rio Secreto tours leave from Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Tulum, and other Riviera Maya destinations. At the nature reserve, you can tour the underground river, visit the famous Crystal Caves, and learn about ancient Maya legends. Combo tours combine a visit to Rio Secreto with other activities, such as early-access visits to the Tulum ruins, mountain biking excursions, or ATV tours.

So beautiful!
Although we had done some other underground river tours this one was more in depth than the others. Beautiful! Great pictures taken by the photographer.

Rio Secreto and Tulum Tour from Riviera Maya
Tulum was great. Tour guide Beatrice knows a lot on the subject of Mayan history and has plenty to share. Rio Secreto is an unbelievable experience. You’ll be walking in the caves for about an hour. Some of them are 2.5 million years old. Some of them were a coral reef. Luisa is a very professional and accommodating guide. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

Rio Secreto Skip-the-Line Admission Ticket
The transportation from the port (Playa del Carmen) was smooth. Our guide Marite was wonderful and by the end of the tour I felt like she was a member of the family. 100% recommend this to others visiting Cozumel, Cancun or Playa del Carmen!

Change the photography policy or fire a better photographer with reasonable prices.

Río Secreto Nature Reserve from Playa del Carmen
Great experience, great service at site, funny tour guide, great place to visit. Huuuuuge negative part are the photos experience. It is not allowed to bring your own camera or phone with you and make your own photos. The "professional " photographer will make horrible photos for you and try to sell them for $25 USD per each photo. Everything else is 100/100.

Rio Secreto Skip-the-Line Admission Ticket
This tour was amazing. We loved our guide Alfredo, he was very informative and passionate about the Caves. We did have trouble booking on the rio secreto website which is why we used viator. They have other tour options. This is the classic tour and the shortest. About 2 hours Other tour options include hiking, biking, rappelling.

Full-Day Tulum Expedition and Rio Secreto Adventure
This was such an amazing experience and I highly recommend it to everyone. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because the transportation was kind of messy. Either than that, it was great!

Río Secreto Nature Reserve from Playa del Carmen
It's an amazing tour, an experience we'll never forget. We can very much recommend it. The staff is super nice and welcoming. The only downside: Photos of the tour are rediculously expensive (25USD p.p. or 99USD for all).
