One thing I will note is that I bought tickets under the assumption that I had purchased transportation as well but after looking again I realized the tickets were admission only, they did not say "admission + transportation". I made a short call to Viator and spoke with a representative who quickly corrected my mistake and we were set to go! Pickup/drop off was a breeze, the do's and dont's were clearly communicated, lunch was good and our guide Gustavo was fantastic! My favorite part was when the group got to float in total darkness listening to the bats flying over head.
Explore the Rio Secreto Nature Reserve outside of Cancun on this full-day excursion, where you swim and wade in one of the most spectacular underground caves in Mexico. See the famous crystal caves on a tour that showcases the spectacular natural wonders of the Yucatán. Playa del Carmen Jungle Tour: Tulum, Cenote Snorkeling, 4x4 Ride and Ziplining
, Feb 2020
This excursion was 10/10! The day started with 2 ziplines, and then we ziplined into a cenote, then snorkeled for a good amount of time, then 2 more ziplines, and then repelling down into another cenote! We were fed a Mayan lunch and then spent a few hours at the Tulum Ruins which has the most beautiful beach. Well worth the money and Sarah is the best guide!! Makes you feel very safe on the ziplines and is very knowledgeable.
In the beginning of the trip, participating and seeing a Mayan ritual was one of a kind experience. I am a Christian but getting to know a different culture/religion was interesting as well as what the Mayan descendant(ritual leader) prayed for was clear. 5 different zip lines and snorkeling were fun. However, getting to the top of the zipline is dangerous and need to be extra careful. Wear shoes, not flip-flops. My tour guide, Jose Cruz was friendly, entertaining and very responsible to keep the group safe. Lastly Tulum tour was informative and my guide did a great job!
For improvement, the company needs to inform people when the ride arrival gets delayed a little. Also need to indicate the name of the tour company in the voucher. Otherwise, you would never know which tour bus/van you take.
Depart Playa del Carmen for a day of cultural experience and adrenaline-inducing activities. Begin with a visit to Tulum, an ancient Maya coastal city that's home to archaeological remains and sandy beaches. Then visit a modern-day Maya community before entering the jungle to explore two vast underground river systems. Snorkel their cavern waters and afterward, board a 4x4 Unimog for a thrilling ride toward a series of ziplining and rappelling adventures. Wind down with a buffet lunch of delicious Maya cuisine.
This was hands down one of the best adventures we have done on our many trips. Chris, our guide, did a great job guiding a fun ride. The midway stop at an incredible cenote was perfect. Crystal clear water, "fresh" temperature, wonderful experience.
Got to drive a side by side in a downpour got so muddy. Rain hitting your face going through big puddles Seeing a hudge grasshopper and trantula Chris was amazing. Cenote Beautiful Good choice Super fun husband says I'm a crazy driver...I say "we have got to get one of these" funtimes...reccomend!
Journey deep into the Riviera Maya on this guided jungle buggy tour from Playa del Carmen. Steer a 4x4 buggy for about 18 miles and admire the lush forest scenery during this thrilling drive. Make a stop at a ranch for a refreshing swim and snorkel at a cenote. Hotel transport included.
Our guides were magnificent and very knowledgeable. They made the time in the bus fun! However, it was a VERY long day...with our hotel pickup at 7:00 am and return at 9:30pm!!! Had to stop at a “xfer station” for logistics and breakfast so by the time we actually got on the road for the excursions it was almost 9:45. The Cenote and lunch were fun and Chichen Itza interesting, but honestly, I enjoyed Tulum and Coba more if you can only do one. If you are going to do this, bring a book, swimsuit and towel. The guides were also very generous w the liquor on the ride home— that helped ;)
One of the best tours ever. Wat made it so good were all the tour guides, especially Victor who educated us on Mayan culture. Plus drinks were flowing openly the whole time. The enthusiasm of the guides was just amazing. Highly recommended. The temples and cenote were absolutely fabulous. There was an amazing performance from the Mayan people in the cenote as well . Over all once of the best tours experiences
It was a very long day for sure! But our hosts made it a great fun day! Victor started out with his amazing knowledge about the Mayan culture! The drive pretty long, did not appear that long because of his fun facts! We went to a cenote that was beautiful . We had lunch and than went on to chichen Itza. Unfortunately we were only a little over 2 1/2 hours in Chichen Itza. I wished we could have stayed there a little longer. Gerry did a a great job explaining and informing us. We had to be back at 5 pm .
There were two couples who came back 20 mins late. We were in the process of leaving when they showed up! no fun!! We left for Valladolid to see the Spanish architecture and old church . Very nice, but i rather would have stayed 1 hour longer in Chichen Itza. On our way back our hosts came around with drinks! So much fun. You guys did a great job to entertain us. Thanks for a great day. We loved it
Explore the ancient Mayan city of Chichén Itzá on an all-day tour from Playa del Carmen. After a convenient hotel pickup, travel to this important pre-Columbian ceremonial center to learn about its temples, observatory, pyramid, and ball court from an informative guide. Cool off in the holy waters of the Sutyun cenote before grabbing lunch at its namesake restaurant (included in the tour price).
One of the best experiences I’ve had. Our tour guide Coco was exceptionally open and knowledgeable about the area and the food.
He took us off the beaten tourist path and along hidden historic streets and parks.
4 hours seemed like a blink.
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, and definitely bring an appetite.
Koko took us to places we would never have tried. The food was wonderful and he challenged us to be adventurous so we tried new foods and lived them. His knowledge of the area was great. Because of Koko we will go back to those locations.
A food tour on your first day or two is a must if you want to eat delicious authentic Mexican food while in Playa. Abbey was a wonderful tour guide and taught us so much about the local culture and history as well.
Don’t leave your experience of Playa del Carmen’s food scene to chance; let a guide reveal some of the city's best food spots on a culinary walking tour that provides a comprehensive introduction to first-time visitors. Stray from the beaten path and discover lesser-known Mexican specialties that you may otherwise have missed.

This adventure was great! The buggy ride was fun & the cenote was beautiful. We visited the local village deeper in the jungle & handed out groceries, it was a humbling experience. Our 2 guides were fun, knowledgable and made the whole experience perfect. Highly recommend this tour!

We had a great time! It was exactly what we were hoping for. We were picked up when we were supposed to be, we had a great guide who gave us a lot of good info, (but didn’t go on and on, so we had time to explore) and our driver was awesome! We lucked out and had nice weather for all of the activities as well. I would definitely recommend going on this tour! Thanks!
We loved this trip! Our guide, Mario was funny and gave us a lot of information of every place we visited.
The only "problem" was that we didn't have enough time at Chichen Itza, as the place is huge (you would need a couple more hours for that).

Coba, Tulum, Hilarios Cave and Playa Paraiso from Playa del Carmen
Great day at a great price
, Feb 2020
We really enjoyed this day out. Each part had something special to remember, our driver (Anthony) and tour guide (Obet) were excellent and made the day relaxing and enjoyable. Even though the tour ended with a visit to a beach and we'd already had several days relaxing on Playacar beach, we just took the time to unwind at the beach bar, have a cocktail and enjoy the views of a different area. It was really reasonably priced too in comparison to other tours on offer at our hotel and around Playa del Carmen. We thoroughly recommend this tour.
I tried leaving a review after the tour but couldn't with my phone. I am glad. I would have rated it 5 stars either way, but after taking another tour in the region, I have another level of appreciation. George was our tour operator. His English was great and he was very informative. He was very passionate about the Myan's and their culture. This tour fits in so many things and is such a great value. It is also small and very personal. We had 10 people in our group and they did a great job of making us all feel welcomed. George spoke Spanish and English and even greeted a German couple in their native language. I can not recommend it enough!!!! If you are in Playa and have any interest in either of these ruins, do this!!!
the long trip started early but you want to get to Coba before the busses come. great trip, only part I didn't like (and no one did) was that at 4:00 we were ready to go home and they stopped at this beach for 2 hours (we all are staying at beach resorts).
Discover two significant archaeological sites with this guided tour of Tulum and Coba. Walk past restored ruins at the former Maya trading post then scale Nohoch Mul at Coba, the Yucatán Peninsula’s tallest pyramid. Your full-day tour departs from Playa del Carmen hotels and includes a cenote swim and free time at the Caribbean beach of Playa Paraíso. Numbers are limited for a small-group experience.
Magical Holbox Tour from Playa del Carmen and Riviera Maya
Great tour - better than expected!
, Feb 2020
Hotel pick up was exactly on time (we were the first stop) and we picked up a few others but then we were left waiting for what felt like 30 mins for 2 people to board the mini van - not sure if they were late or we were early as the driver didn't say anything. He just got out and we were left waiting for ages which was frustrating especially at the start of the day early morning. The tour was fantastic and our guide was really informative and did a great job of making the day fun! We did everything as advertised and this tour is exceptional value for money, half price than what my holiday provider are offering for pretty much the same tour. Only other downside was we had 1.5 hours free time at Holbox which was far too long as there isn't much to do. This may be because of a mix up or cancelled ferry back to Chiquila but either way, we got a little bored. The whole day was 13.5 hours long and we missed a dinner reservation we had at our resort - so make sure to keep the evening free if you are going on this tour. Thanks again for a great day of fun and beautiful sights :)
Really great customer service, had to reschedule my trip date and they did it with no problem. Didnt get to do all the things advertised but it was still a great day. Small group only 4 other people with us. All the islands were really beautiful, the travel time is really long though but the van was comfortable.
We have an amazing day,on time picked up at the hotel, the food was good, maybe a little bit short off time at the Alma Bar,We have to get verry fast to the restaurant so we din't get pictures at the beach on Alma Bar😔...just a tip for the next time.
But overall it was a perfect day!!!

This private tour completely exceeded our expectations. There were 7 of us in our group. 4 of us had been to Chitzen Itza as part of a group tour. As you can imagine we really had no interest in going back. Were we in for a surprise we were picked up promptly at 7AM and traveled straight to Chitzen Itza. Along the way we taught about a plethora of historical facts including the Mayan calendar and how numbers were displayed. Arriving before all the crowds flood in makes the experience that much better. We visited a local Cenote and then stopped in a town on the way back. This was a fantastic day!! Thank you so much for exceeding our expectations.
Unlike other reviews, this outing includes the driver and a guide once arriving at Tulum. We paid an additional fee for being picked up in Cancun, but it was worth it. We were a party of 5, including a senior citizen for whom we considered while booking the trip. The only thing that would have made this trip better would have been a guide on the van to give a better background of Tulum and its place in Mayan history. The cenote on the way back was not very impressive as we had previously visited the Cenote Silva Maya when returning from Chichen Itza. However, for the price, this was definitely the way to go.
Alberto and Benjamin were great! Our party of 10 (4 adults and 6 kids) had a fabulous time learning about the Maya history and Chichen Itza. The kids age 9-13 were enthralled with all the information that Alberto shared. Then they recommended the cenote and lunch at Selva Maya and it was fabulous. We had a wonderful day and the kids said it was worth the 3 hour drive from Cancun. That alone says it all!
Skip the crowded bus tours at Chichen Itza. Instead, opt for a personalized excursion from Cancun or Riviera Maya. This private day trip lets you customize the itinerary with your guide and choose your own pickup time from the hotel. Entrance fees and a buffet lunch are included, along with beer and soda in a cooler aboard the air-conditioned vehicle. Bonus: swim in Ik Kil or Xcajum cenote.
Hike, bike, and swim at the Río Secreto Nature Reserve. Coba Ruins, Cho Ha Cenote, Tulum and Paradise Beach Day Trip
Fantastic tour and guide (Ulysses)
, Feb 2020
The tour guide as amazing, and all 4 destinations were fantastic. Ulysses was a wonderful guide and full of information on the Mayan culture. He also ensured we got a fair price while shopping. We wish we could have stayed longer at a few of the destinations (Tulum ruins and Paradise Beach) but of course time is limited! We couldn’t have done all 4 of the destinations in once day on our own - we highly suggest this tour!
Great day...albeit a bit long! Our guide, Ulysses, was amazingly knowledgeable and passionate about the Mayan people and culture! Climbing Coba temple and swimming in the Cenote are memories I will cherish for a lifetime! Being as the day starts so early, a suggestion: provide guests with a light breakfast and maybe coffee upon pickup. Also, ensure after all guests are picked up (with a full van took us 1-1/2 hrs for pickups) a bathroom break before the long drive to Coba.
Great trip! You get to see and do so much in a day. Francisco was a great guide and got us to the spots when crowds were very small. He was also super knowledgeable about the Mayan culture. The one thing I wish I knew beforehand is the use of bikes to get to the big pyramid in Coba, but beyond that it was truly an amazing experience. Already recommended to my friend who is visiting in a few weeks!
This small-group tour combines two impressive archeological sites of the Yucatán Peninsula: Coba and Tulum. Let a guide accompany you around the ruins and explain their significance. This day trip from Playa del Carmen includes hotel transport, beverages and a buffet lunch, plus a swim in Cho Ha Cenote.
We had the best time! Our guide provided tons of great information, was a great driver, had awesome snacks and made sure the entire trip was enjoyable. Rio Secreto was so interesting. It was not a hard tour, but you will be in and out of water. We were a little nervous at first, but, honestly, it wasn't difficult at all. I get claustrophobic in enclosed spaces, and it never bothered me a bit. It was our second time to Tulum. The ruins are always interesting to go see. I HIGHLY recommend you doing this tour if your trip allows you the time! You'll love it!
Río Secreto is the new ecological inspiration of our region. It has recently been designated as one of Mexico’s most distinct and alluring nature reserves, and this unique destination is quickly becoming the pride of all Mexicans.
Visitors often feel transformed by their journey deep inside Río Secreto. It’s a rare and exotic opportunity to admire the unequaled beauty of our beloved Mexico and Mother Earth
Our visit to the 3D Museum of Wonders was absolutely breathtaking. We have never experienced anything like it before and was grateful to our guide, Vladimir, for capturing the perfect moments on camera. He walked us through every 3D painting with patience and kindness. It was the perfect end to our vacation in Playa Del Carmen. Already planing our trip back!
Need a break from the heat or the beach? Then the place to go is the 3D Museum of Wonders in Playa del Carmen. Considered the first 3D illusion art museum in the Americas, its exhibits are unique and interactive. Open daily, the museum provides family-friendly entertainment on any day, including rainy ones. Your admission gives you access to all rooms. Feel free to bring your camera and take photos of your favorite exhibits — it’s not your everyday museum.
Set off into the warm Caribbean Sea on this half-day catamaran sailing adventure from Playa del Carmen. Your luxurious boat cruises along the Riviera Maya coastline, stopping at the Inah Reef — one of the best locations in the region for snorkeling. Try stand-up paddleboarding while you’re out there too. After your water activities, enjoy a gourmet lunch and an open bar, as well as attentive service from your crew. Hotel transport included.
Whale Shark All-Inclusive Tour in Cancun & Riviera Maya
Unbelievably good - just do it!
, Sep 2019
After having been let down the night before we were supposed to do the same thing with Coba Tulum Tour's "Whale Shark Experience in Cancun (Lifetime memories) Lunch and Drinks Included" we were delighted that Viator (the parent company behind TripAdvisor) stepped in and sorted this for us before we had to return to the UK.
Okay it was a bit more expensive but the arrangements and day were absolutely brilliant. A fantastic guide who with the crew managed to get us 4 dives alongside these huge creatures.
The pickups were on time and comfortable. They provided food and gave excellent advice, everything being done properly. We brought our own breatheeasy type masks but they provided all the gear anyway - but I am a pathetic swimmer and the masks we brought made me less nervous.
You jump in just ahead of the sharks and then swim for your life alongside them. I can't describe how awesome this is, you just have to experience it.
We got a 4th dive in but 3 is normal. On the day we went out there was no shortage of whale sharks but note they are some way out from the coast and if the ride is bumpy you might feel a bit sick - but they provided tablets for those who felt they needed them.
Lunch was provided in the bay of Isla Muerta, but it was quite crowded by the time we got there because we spent longer than most of the boats with the whales (which is better I think than getting to lunch early!).
We didn't really feature in the video that was taken but it is pot luck anyway, and I didn't begrudge the USB stick fee even though we were only in a couple of the video scenes and photos.
I genuinely want to thank Pablo, Captain Salvatore and everyone at Ocean Tours for the most fantastic day. You took fantastic care of us and were both hugely professional and meaningfully friendly. My teen kids think that this was a life changing experience and so do I. So genuinely, thanks.
Swim and snorkel alongside whale sharks on this guided tour in Cancun. A boat speeds you to a prime viewing location, and en route, you might just spot dolphins, turtles, and manta rays. Experienced guides are there to make sure you enjoy a safe and fun swim and snorkel. Enjoy breakfast at the pier before setting off, as well as snacks and unlimited beverages while on board. Hotel transport included. Note: This seasonal tour is offered from May through mid-September.
Explore the archaeological ruins of Tulum and Coba as your guide unveils the culture of the ancient Maya civilization. Then visit the Maya village of Esmeralda where you can swim in a beautiful cenote and partake in an authentic indigenous meal. Hotel transport is provided from Riviera Maya hotels.
Cast off on your own private, luxury cruise during this full-day tour with open-bar. Your catamaran crew will whisk away to In-Ha Reef to snorkel among turtles and tropical fish while they prepare snacks and cocktails and fresh ceviche for you to enjoy. Fish or swim in the calm water in La Bacona and ask your crew to grill up your catch of the day.
