Our tour in January wound up being only 5 people so our tour guide took us to more places than expected. After visiting the geysers we stopped to feed the Icelandic horses and then stopped at a farm that makes its in ice cream from the Skyr famous cream. We also had time to stop at a tomatoe farm that grows tomatos in greenhouses. Our tour guide Pauli was very good and answered all of our “Icelandic life” questions.

Travel with a small group to must-see attractions such as Thingvellir National Park, famous Geysir, Gullfoss Falls, and Kerid volcanic crater lake, all while enjoying the free onboard Wi-Fi and commentary from your guide. As a Travel Professional I must say this Viator has been and always will be top of the line for service and response especially for this last minute order for tickets for the Blue Lagoon. It makes our job efficient and I know if there is a problem, it will be solved. Thank you Viator for working with the Travel Agent Community, Barbara from Heger Travel
When visiting Iceland, the Blue Lagoon is the perfect place to unwind after busy days sightseeing. Don’t risk the chance of tickets selling out, and instead, guarantee your spot by pre-booking an entry ticket. This flexible experience allows you to choose from Comfort or Premium packages, and add on transfers if required. Once you get the Blue Lagoon, spend hours relaxing in the mineral-rich geothermal water pools.
The things we saw were as described. Hot springs, gullfoss falls, geysers, the driver Stefan was brilliant very knowledgable and funny. All the history as we drove around and with a twist of his own which made it amusing. Not like the footballing guide we had for the northern lights tour who just kept talking although didn't say anything very much to add to the experience.
Enhance your experience of Iceland’s extraordinary Golden Circle on a full-day tour of the country’s natural highlights from Reykjavik. With a professional guide, feast your eyes on spectacular sights like Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall, and the Geysir hot spring. Gain fascinating insight into the geothermic nature of the area at Strokkur, an erupting geyser, and gaze at the majestic Secret Lagoon hot spring bath before submerging yourself in the healing waters of the natural bath.
It is informed that the pick up will be at 8:00 am but it only occurred at 9:00 am. If you consider me leaving 30 minutes before to wait for the bus, it means that I spent 1:30 waiting for the bus. It was informed that it would be a green bus, which did not happen. Imagine you get off the ship and have more than 30 buses on the patio and you have no detailed information on where and how to take the bus and green bus information is not real.
I know that the bus went through all the hotels before going to the port, but it makes no sense having to wait more than 1 hour and besides the clear lack of information on how to take the bus, since as I said on the patio there were over 30 bus. Imagine the question whether the bus really would come or if it came and went without me seeing it. Total 9:00 h up to 15:30 = 5:30 hs tour
Capture the spirit of Iceland during this Golden Circle tour from Reykjavik. With a local guide, explore Thingvelllir (Þingvellir) National Park's mossy expanses and deep fissures. Visit the Gullfoss waterfall, the most impressive cascade in Iceland, which makes for spectacular photos. Travel in a climate-controlled coach featuring an audio guide available in 10 languages. National park fees and round-trip transportation from Reykjavik hotels are included (if option selected).
Make the most of your time in Iceland by seeing the top sites of Reykjavík and visiting the Blue Lagoon in a day. After a convenient pickup from your accommodation, travel with ease between dispersed sites in a comfortable vehicle. A guide makes sure you get the most out of your trip with fascinating commentary about the history of Reykjavík. Also avoid long lines by having tickets to the healing geothermal spa area of the Blue Lagoon included.
Golden Circle Day Tour Including Blue Lagoon Admission from Reykjavik
Gulfoss is a must see
, Jan 2020
Had a great trip on the golden circle, Gulfoss waterfall was a highlight and we got an added bonus of getting to see the Icelandic horses. The tour guide John was brilliant and kept everyone entertained. The blue lagoon at the end of the day was an added bonus
The trip was good, we left on time, our guide was polish so that made it easier for my mum to understand the translation in english, we had decent amount of time at each stop. The only downfall was that we weren't entertained enough there could be more interesting stories and anecdotes from our guide and pick up for the Blue Lagoon was also late and our trip was combine with it because if that we arrived there after sunset and in January that made hell of a difference for a negative. Apart of that we were very happy and we do recommend that provider and the trip itself. 😊
On Friday/06Dec 2019, we were 12 girls joining the Golden Circle Day Tour included entrance on Blue Lagoon.
We were extremely lucky with the weather! Clear blue sky, almost no wind and there was new snow all over your beautiful nature.
Trip can absolutely be recommended for all ages, good seats in the bus, Alex, our Tour guide was amazing, clear voice, was always present, replied to questions, had humor, and also made some extra stops during the way.
The trip to the Blue Lagoon can also be recommended, the hot water, atmosphere and the polite, helpful staff. Very special coming out in the water in the dark with all the fog all over the water!
We have no complaints, and are very glad we took this tour to discover this beautiful side of Iceland
This is the perfect combination of the most popular day tour in Iceland with the healing waters of the Blue Lagoon, taking you to see separation of Europe and North America, geysers and hot springs, and the magnificent golden waterfall.
For an unforgettable experience, join our tour and step aboard one of our new buses, fully equipped with WiFi connected computer tablets for each guest. The tablets provide you with a continuous stream of relevant information along the journey with a GPS synced Audio Guide, available with a choice of 10 languages. Along the tour our local hosts will make your experience comfortable and are happy to answer any questions you might have about our peculiar country. In each seat you will also find a USB outlet to charge any of your devices.
Our driver and guide, Ziggy, has a lot of energy and is passionate about his home. He is also a great driver, avoiding a close call when another tour driver took an unexpected turn in front of our bus! His humor was evident throughout the day, especially when we took a slight detour to the side of the road to see a very interesting phenomenon, Mother of Pearl Clouds! Black sand beach, waterfalls, glacier, and frozen tundra - beautiful landscape and fun day.
Great price for a small Group tour, but the pickup system must be improved.
, Jan 2020
I booked through Viator and they stated that the pickup would be in my hostel. The day of the tour I received an email (I had not roaming in my cellphone in Iceland) at 8:25 am saying that I needed to go to a 7 minutes walk bus station for the pickup at 8:30 am ! ! ! !... I replied that I was waiting in the hostel because it was stated that way and I needed to walk to that bus station. Lucky for me they came back around 8:45 am to pick me up. After that little complain, I have to say that the tour was wonderful and it worth every single euro I paid for. Our guide (Gunna) was very helpful and provide us with a lot of information. I took the tour in december, lucky for us the weather was nice and the five hours of day light were enough to enjoy all the sights in th south shore.
On a four day visit to Iceland we experienced both a large bus excursion tour and the Small Group south Shore Tour. Traveling with three friends we all agreed the Small Shore Tour was our favorite. Our guide "Wally" was top notch. HIs dry wit and humor were much appreciated throughout the day. We saw many more sites than we anticipated and he had the freedom to decide in what order we would view sites--he kept us ahead of and away from the busses filled with students. He was very knowledgeable and spent most of the day talkin with us, Vey much appreciate his epertise! The bus was comfortable and it was easy to have conversations and learn abut the beautiful countryside.
Easily explore the South Shore of Iceland in a day on this guided, small-group tour in a luxury minibus. After pickup in Reykjavik, take in the unique Icelandic scenery as you travel to stops including the Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls, Solheimajokull Glacier, black sand beaches, the village of Vik, and more.
Visit three of Iceland's most popular attractions, collectively known as the "Golden Circle," with this small-group, guided tour from Reykjavik. You'll get to visit the beautiful Gullfoss Waterfall, watch the active geyser at the Geysir Geothermal Area, and take in the natural beauty of Þingvellir National Park, all in just one day.
This tour was incredible! Our tour guide was Baldwin who is super nice and shared lots of interesting stories about Iceland - he also planned the trip perfectly so that we didn’t run into the large tour groups. The sights are beautiful - I can’t recommend this trip enough.
Great trip. Our best of the trip. We were lucky to have weather that wasn’t raining all day! Our guide was fantastic and told us so much interesting history and information about the areas. And the sights were stunning. Loved this trip. Do it!!
Travel by luxury minibus through a volcanic landscape along the south coast of Iceland. See the magnificent waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss, the black-sand beaches of Reynisfjara, and the breathtaking Sólheimajökull glacier on this day trip from Reykjavik. Spot puffins, if you’re lucky, and get a look at Eyjafjallajökull volcano, which erupted in 2010. Round-trip hotel transport is provided.
We had a fantastic day on our golden circle and secret lagoon tour. Our guide Addy was fantastic, she provided so much knowledge about her country and we have learnt so much. The sights were spectacular, Mother Nature at her best. The day was finished off with a soak in the secret lagoon, bliss. Highly recommend this tour.
Perfectly small and not overly touristy which we loved, group of 15. Our host was incredibly knowledgeable (Addy) and we learnt so much about each location we went to. We were able to stop at leach location and go off and do our own thing without following a group which was also fab and just be back at the bus by a certain time. Was also provided with traditional Icelandic snacks! Would highly recommend.
Iceland’s Golden Circle route links some of the country’s most impressive natural attractions, but the big tourist groups can make it feel crowded. On this small-group tour, reach top Golden Circle landmarks including Gullfoss waterfall and Thingvellir National Park in a group no larger than 15 people. Travel in comfort by air-conditioned vehicle as your guide showcases Iceland’s spectacular beauty, and finish with a warm soak at the Secret Lagoon.
Original pick up was at 8:30 we waited from 8:20am till 9:10am with no pick up, eventually we called the company when they informed us it was delayed 1hour so our pick up time was now 9:30am. They did not notify us of this change, I checked my customer support and emails and receive no prior contact of the change in time. (Mind you it was -5° where we waited, and storms) Despite this blue lagoon was amazing and customer support were friendly.
I always enjoy the Blue Lagoon. Once you are in the water, you don't feel the ocld at all. I have ben there many times. The transfer arrived on time and was very efficient.
The Blue Lagoon is so popular that reservations are strongly advised. I went there once when the line was 50 feet out the door, and I never did get in. This is the perfect solution since they not only take you there and back, but make the reservation.
Blue lagoon is lovely . Amazing staff . Booked through Viator never again . Rubbish customer service and transfer never turned up . Communication is shocking . Being a Carer with my client who has Autism was not good
On this relaxing, half-day tour package, you’ll head by transfer to the healing, geothermal waters of the Blue Lagoon. Soak at your leisure in the milky blue, mineral-rich outdoor spa with premium admission tickets, which include a towel, bathrobe, slippers, and complimentary beverage, plus a silica or algae face mask.
Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon Including Admission & Kerid Volcanic Crater
, Feb 2020
I’ve been on a Golden Circle tour before, with a different company, this was better. This time with my 15 year old son, he enjoyed it too. Not a to large group, knowledgeable and friendly guide (Skoli) and a good way to “see it all” (at least around Reykjavík) if you don’t have all the time we should’ve had visiting this very special country.
The Golden Circle and the Blue Lagoon are the two most popular sights to visit in Iceland. Book this small group day tour and enjoy visiting both the Golden Circle and the Blue Lagoon in a relaxing fun filled day. Admission to all sights, also the Blue Lagoon, is included in the tour price so as soon as you have booked you can relax and start looking forward to your adventure.
Your first stop is at the Thingvellir National Park, the UNESCO listed World Heritage Site. This is where the American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, which allows you the unique feeling of having one foot in each world. Next destination is the famous Geysir Hot Spring. Watch Strokkur erupt every few minutes up to 30 meters high. Here you can buy a lunch during the stop. Gullfoss the Golden Waterfall is next and will amaze you with its beauty and raw power. Adding even more, you will visit the Kerid Volcanic Crater before heading off the Blue Lagoon for a relaxing end to a great day.
Discover some of Iceland’s most mesmerizing landscapes on this half-day private tour of the stunning Reykjanes peninsula, home to lava fields, craters, and hot springs. Highlights include a photo stop at the Blue Lagoon, panoramic views from Reykjanes Lighthouse, and a visit to the bridge that connects the continental plates of North-America and Eurasia.
Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon Natural Hot Springs from Reykjavik
, Jan 2020
We were very lucky to have a knowldegable guide, Heaf (hope that is the correct spelling), who gave us a brief before we visited the sites but then let us explore on our own. I think the amount of time at each attraction was exactly right, I thought some of it sounded too quick or too long but it worked out really well. Pickup was smooth and we managed to see everything in the daylight!
Thank you Heaf and team!
wonderful excursion. sights were great and guide was informative. the secret lagoon really beats out the blue lagoon in that it is surrounded by nature and has many fewer visitors so you do not feel crowded. also they have "noodles" available for floating or sitting on.
Combine the best of the most popular tour in Iceland with a relaxing soak in a geothermal pool on the Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon Tour. This tour checks off the top three must-sees in Iceland: Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir geothermal area. And not only that, you round-off your day in typical Icelandic fashion with a dip in a geothermal pool.
Small-Group Snaefellsnes National Park Day Trip from Reykjavik
Top Class Tour
, Dec 2019
We had the most fantastic day on this tour . Our Guide and driver Einar was absolutely brilliant and so full of interesting facts about the stops we made. Each and every stop was very worthwhile and from a photographic point of view it was amazing. At no stage did we feel pressurised when at an attraction but by the same token,we were given a specfic time to spend at each place. I would highly recommend this tour. The attractions we visited were beautiful and well worth seeing.
Really enjoyed this day trip. Guide was fun, engaging, and interested in making sure we enjoyed our outing. You don't get a lot of time at each stop, but it's a great way to see a lot of the sights in limited time.
Experience the scenery and nature of western Iceland’s Snaefellsnes peninsula on a full-day tour from Reykjavik. Gaze at the glaciated Snaefellsjökull volcano, admire the seals at Ytri-Tunga beach, and check out the famous ‘lifting stones’ of black Djupalonssandur beach. See craggy rock formations on a clifftop stroll around Arnarstapi and Hellnar villages, and admire Kirkjufell mountain, Snaefellsnes’ much-photographed cone-shaped peak. Air-conditioned transport plus Reykjavik hotel pickup and drop-off included.
Our group of 4 had a truly enjoyable and educational day with our tour guide Bjarni!
Having a private group gave us the opportunities to spend time at each landmark with an additional greenhouse stop. Bjarni took us to a working farm with a field to table restaurant for lunch. All in all I highly recommend this tour and our guide Bjarni.
This was by far my favorite tour. Our guide Bjarni with BTH Travel was outstanding. He had so much info to share and wove in his own life to the places we visited. He made a couple of stops that were not on the itinerary and what a treat. It was so cool to see the tectonic plates and mid-Atlantic ridge. Amazing....Nothing I would change except it be longer.
Discover the highlights of the Golden Circle on this comprehensive private day tour. Take the stress out of driving on winding mountain roads by having round-trip transport in a 4WD provided. You’ll travel between dispersed sites with ease, and see many top sites in a day including Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, Kerid crater, Faxi waterfall, and the Geysir geothermal area.
Our tour driver (Bart) was friendly and knowledgeable. Because we were staying outside the "bus zone" in Reykjavik, we needed help choosing a pick up spot and the tour company was very responsive with that.
The tour has three stops (the falls, the geysir and the Thingvellir rift valley) but we made a couple additional quick overlook stops that were breathtaking. The ride in and out of Reykjavik included information about interesting or historic places we passed, as well. Most of our weeklong trip was self-driven (and self-quided) but we don't regret including this tour one bit. It was a comfortable easy way to hit some of the more popular tourist sights.
The Golden Circle is one of the most popular sightseeing tour in Iceland – which doesn’t come as a surprise considering you are visiting the most renowned attractions in the country when you drive along the Golden Circle route. The tour mainly consists of 3 distinctly unique locations; Thingvellir National Park, the Geysir known as Strokkur and the waterfall called Gullfoss.
Thingvellir is the first stop which showcases where the Icelandic Parliament began in 930AD and is still running to this day.
The second stop is the only erupting Geysir in Iceland, Strokkur. In 1963 after decades of it not erupting locals under advice from the Geysir Committee helped to clear a blockage and it has been erupting ever since.
The third and final stop is Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall) which was created at the end of the last Ice Age. Gullfoss is known to be the largest waterfall in terms of volume of water with the average around 1400 m³/s in summer and 80 m³/s in winter.
Small-group Glacier Lagoon (Jokulsarlon) Day Trip from Reykjavík
Amazing day out
, Dec 2019
Do yourself a favor and book this trip to the Glacier Lagoon! The trip was amazing and very well organized. Stefan the guide was very professional, knowledgeable and communicative. We had to drive back to the capital in extreme conditions and Stefan has done an amazing job driving. The Gateway to Iceland is one of the two the best travel companies we used in Iceland. We will definitely use their services in the future when we will be back to the land of fire and ice! Thank you a lot!
This was a long 14 hour day, but the time flew by as our amazing tour guide Gummi drove us and regaled us with fascinating stories, he was incredibly knowledgeable. The tour itself was everything it advertises to be plus much more, dont be put off by the ling day as we stopped frequently for refreshments and bathroom breaks and to see extra things not on the itinerary. The Glacier Lagoon was stunning!! We had the opportunity to do the boat ride, unusual for this time of year, but it was quite expensive and extremely cold and snowy so we decided not to go on the boat. This was the only tour we found that went to the Canyon & the little church, both beautiful in their own way and well worth the visit. If you only book 1 tour in Iceland, book this one, you wont regret it !!
We had booked other day tours and this was the second out of the three. It was the BEST tour, especially in regards to our wonderful guide, Ian. He kept a 14-hour tour in bad weather, upbeat and entertaining with many stories and historical facts about Iceland. Our last tour during our vacation was with another company and I kept saying about that guide "He's no Ian".
The stops are great, my only complaint is that the one stop I was most excited about - the waterfall you can walk behind - was our last one of the night. In the dark. In the rain. Now, no one can control the weather, but I was surprised we didn't see this one earlier in the day. But I trust Ian had his reasons.
Diamond Beach is impressive, Glacier Lagoon is cool. The canyon is AMAZING. Do this tour. You won't regret it. I will hope for you that you have better weather.
You will stop at places for food and snacks, which was great as we weren't sure what to expect.
We had winds, rain, and sleet that were shuffling our shuttle all over the road, but my new super hero, Ian, did a great job navigating it all. He kept us safe, and I will tell you that I was scared at many points because the wind was vicious.
You will get back to your hotel around 11PM. Overall it's a great day!
Feast your senses on the frozen majesty of Iceland’s Glacier Lagoon on an enchanting full-day excursion from Reykjavik. With an expert guide, travel to the charming village of Vik to marvel at the area’s spectacular rock formations and black sand beaches, and admire breath-taking volcanic landscapes as you approach the legendary Glacier Lagoon before returning back to Reykjavik.
Beautiful places, but unlucky with weather and a no good english speaking guide
, Dec 2019
The driver and the guide were nice persons, but the guide spoke basic english, readind almost all the information he had to give us with an accent and spelling, that made it almost impossible to understand more than 10-25% of what he was saying. The weather against us. The last waterfall we saw in darkness. And I think we lost a lot of time for breakfast and lunch, being 1 and a half hours apart. And since the lake was not frosen, I don't see the reason why they didn't give us the chance to have the small boat trip to the icebergs
Discover southern Iceland and take a cruise on the ice-strewn Jokulsarlon Lagoon on this scenic day trip from Reykjavik. Traveling by air-conditioned coach, trace Iceland’s spectacular south coast, a canvas of towering mountains, waterfalls, and glacial rivers. Visit the Skogafoss waterfall, view the ice-covered peaks of Skaftafell, and learn about the area's geology and then go behind the cascading water at Seljalandfoss waterfall.
With rugged terrain and sweeping coastal scenery, the south coast of Iceland boasts some of the country’s most impressive natural attractions—but reaching the far-flung sites from Reykjavik requires local knowledge. This full-day minibus tour includes round trip-travel from your Reykjavik hotel plus a driver and guide to help you reach the sites with ease. Visit famous landmarks including the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and Reynisfjara’s black beach, and enjoy personal attention from your guide on this small-group tour—limited to 19 people.
Golden Circle & Kerið Day Tour by Minibus from Reykjavik
, Jan 2020
The tour was great. We were spoiled for a space in the mini van as there was only one more couple with us! It was great as it felt almost like a private tour. Anton was very knowledgable and he is clearly passionate about Iceland! He had lots of stories as well as jokes as well. The tour was about 9 hours which sounds a lot but actually its not as you are going from place to place. It was enough time to see everything and a bit extra. Thanks Anton and we will be back!
Absolutely fabulous Excursion! Siggi was an awesome guide! So knowledgeable and entertaining. Everything was paced perfectly. Great lunch spot with a good variety of food and a shop to browse in. This tour let's you do the Golden Circle in style with a fun guide. We enjoyed the Icelandic beauty, history and troll stories. Highly recommend this tour!
Marvel at some of Iceland’s most famous natural sights during this 8-hour day trip along the country’s famed Golden Circle. Stop by Thingvellir National Park and check out the mighty Gulfoss waterfall. You’ll also have time to explore the Geysir geothermal area and tour Faxi waterfall, plus much more. Minivan transport with on-board Wi-Fi is included.
Even with yucky weather the sites were absolutely stunning! The final destination was easily the most beautiful thing we saw. We would recommend this tour to anyone. we tried to get the most out of the tour and this one was it, no question asked!
Incredible tour! I never would have been able to pack in as much as our guide did. Very long day, but got to see any number of different attractions in snaefellsnes. Our guide was fantastic! Set expectations, was welcoming, and built in ample bio/coffee breaks. The pickup from a central bus stop was easy enough too. Would recommend this tour to anyone going to Iceland!
Experience Iceland's spectacular natural environment during this full-day tour from Reykjavik. On this eco-adventure, follow your local guide on a hike to view marine life like seabirds and seals along the coast of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. Spend time in fishing villages and explore unique geological formations in the national park. Round-trip transportation from Reykjavik is included.
Best tour/ best tour guide/ time flew
We were able to see everything! Each experience was better than the last. There was plenty of time to do all the hikes and get lunch and shop and experience a very good portion of Iceland.
Get the most from a day in Iceland on an 11-hour tour from Reykjavik that covers the Golden Circle, Kerid crater, and Blue Lagoon. View the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates at UNESCO-listed Thingvellir, see the geysers and pools at Geysir, and admire the Gulfoss Waterfall. In addition, visit the lake-filled Kerid volcanic crater, and finish by bathing in the warm Blue Lagoon (own expense). Hotel pickup and drop-off included.
