Our tour guide TT aka Tina Turner was a blast. The bus ride to Angra Dos Reis is about 3 hours and she made the ride fun and entertaining by providing historical information and showing off her singing skills. She speaks good English and was able to communicate the day's activities in three languages so no one was left in the dark Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

This was a good opportunity to get away from the busy Rio Olympics and see the country side. It rained most of the day, but that did not hamper our mood. The water was still very warm and we had three opportunities to swim - the only downside is that we did not get to sail out as far as they normally do because of the weather. The scenery is amazing.

The lunch was fantastic and the Caipirinhas were actually one of the best that we had in Rio. Drinks do not come in the price of your ticket, so keep that in mind. They do take credit cards. We had a small group of about 15 people probably due to the poor weather but it turned out to be the perfect amount of people. Because of the small group, we got to know many people from around the world and had a lot of good conversation. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

Amazing boat ride. Even though the weather looked muggy and the water was cold since it was Winter, it was still fun and beautiful. I recommend bringing a towel, sandals, and a rechargable lifeproof case and additional money for pit stops, appetizers, desert and drinks.

The fried fish meal, Caipirinha, and calamari was amazing. Make sure your phone is charged and able to get in the water because you can take amazing photos!

We stopped in a spot between two islands and got to swim with the fish, then we stopped at an island by getting in the water and walking onto the shore. Lastly we docked at another island. Each stop is about 30 minutes. The ride from Rio to Angra dos Reis is long, so I recommend an additional power source for your camera or phone.

I also took the Rio de Janeiro main landmarks Tour including Christ the Redeemer highly recommend http://www.viator.com/tours/Rio-de-Janeiro/Rio-de-Janeiro-Main-Landmarks-Tour-Including-Christ-the-Redeemer/d712-10351P1

If you book this tour, a beautiful day is awaiting for you. It starts with a three hour drive from Rio to Angra dos Reis. As soon as you arrive, you'll board the schooner boat. The whole afternoon you'll be cruising different islands and different beaches. You'll have plenty of time for swimming, snorkeling, walking on the beach, relaxing, etc. A plus on this tour is that your lunch is included - a good Brazilian style buffet is served versus other tours where lunch is not included and can turn out to be expensive. I highly recommend this tour and don't forget to bring your swimsuit and sun lotion !

Had so much fun on this tour! Wonderful and fluent tour guide. Met amazing and fun people. Got to swim even though I can't but "learned" from other friendly tourists. Angra dos Reis was so cool. It looked liked some Greek or Italian coastal town. So worth doing.

Overall a very good day, but a number of things could have been better! One; It was not a trip to Angra dos Reis and Schooner Cruise. Angra dos Reis was simply where the schooner was based. Two; The journey between Rio and Angra dos Reis was far too long, 150km taking 2.5 hours each way. This was not clear when booking. The minibus was very cramped and uncomfortable. It needs a better bus for such a long journey. The cruise itself was excellent as was the guide and lunch!

Pick up was at 7am, we arrived in Angra dos Reis at 11h30 4h30 to get there, definitely too long. The guide was great and very friendly and helpful. We had bad weather and it was cold, boat trip was nice, 3 stops to swim. Food on the boat was very good as well. But would not do it again, just for the 4h30 drive in the morning and 3h30 hours back in the evening.

Unfortunately there was heavy rain for most of the trip, this prevented us from seeing many of the views on the way to Angra dos Reis. The staff on the boat battled against the elements and the band played to try and raise everyone's spirits. For us it meant there was not excuse not to get in the sea. The coach driver didn't complain about our soggy clothes as we boarded the coach for the journey back to Copacabana. It wasnt 5 hours as advertised nor was there a buffet lunch, a choice of fish, chicken or vegetarian. All drinks need to be purchased.
We nearly missed the trip as the departure time was wrong and had to wait over an hour. Nobody answers the local number we tried to call to confirm and Grey Line the tour company we were expecting subcintracted this to another company.

Here is the lowdown that none of the other reviews make clear:

1. You are on a schooner with about 60 other people. Some of them aren't even part of the tour group you start with. It felt very crowded and awkward. It was also more of a party cruise. I was expecting a more relaxing day.

2. This is not a tour. The guide barely spoke English, and you do not learn anything about Angra Dos Reis, the nature around the islands or the surrounding area. It is merely a boat trip.

3. The bus is as long as the other reviews stated. Our boat ride was only 4 hours, not 5. So it felt very short for the amount of effort it took to get there.

4. They try to upsell you everything on the boat from Snorkel gear to t-shirts. The only thing that is included in the price you pay is lunch. For lunch there are 2 options: chicken or fish. Drinks you also have to pay for.

5. You don't actually stop at the beach. Basically the boat anchors and you get to jump off. Not what I was expecting, since I thought it would be more of a beach day. The snorkeling is also pretty bad. They don't really take you to the best areas surrounding the islands.

Overall I would not take this tour again, nor recommend it to anyone. We would have been better off spending another day in Rio-not wasting it on a crowded bus.
