This was one of my favorite excursions in all the trips I've taken. The monkeys and sloths both were very fun to hang out. Staff was great also. Our driver Ruben was knowledgeable about the area and even recommended local beer to try. The snorkeling was also awesome. The staff for that portion was again great. Got to see lobster, sea biscuit, sea cucumber, among some other creatures that were new to our group.
Discover Roatan wildlife on land and by sea on a shore excursion that combines animal watching and snorkeling. First, spot monkeys, sloths, and parrots in an animal sanctuary, then grab snorkeling equipment to explore the island’s gorgeous coral reef. Under the water, see anything from brilliant parrotfish to swaying fans in rainbow colors.

5 Star Tour!
, Feb 2020
We had an amazing time on this tour and cant reccomend it enough. Our tour guide James was extremely knowledgable and provided really fantastic recommendations for our day. We took an gorgeous mangrove boat tour in Oakridge, got to meet monkeys and sloths, had a great lunch, and stopped at West Bay beach. Take this tour!
What a great tour!! James met us promptly right outside the cruise terminal. Is was awesome, other people were in line to board the shuttle busses, but not us. He took us to the places we wanted to visit. The sloth and monkey hang out is a must!! He stopped by a road side fruit stand and bought us Lichas. A very colorful and really sweet fruit. I would have never tried it otherwise. He also bought us fresh fruit smoothies in 4 different flavors. We shared and tried them all. YUMMY 😋. After all our stops we went to lunch at a small outdoor restaurant. Fantastic. James was an awesome tour guide. I highly recommend him and this tour.

Monkeys and Sloth Hang Out with Island Tour in Roatan
Fun in Isla roatan honduras
, Feb 2020
This was such a great experience being hugged by a sloth is indescribable they are so gentle. Then play with the monkeys..how fun. Had a wonderful lunch at a local place..oh my....delicious. Best tour on my entire cruise. Don't miss this one.
This was the best tour! Our driver, Kambron, was excellent and took us all around the island and explained all the points of interest. The Monkey and Sloth stop was the highlight. Our guide Hector, explained about the plants of the island, then took us inside the Monkey enclosure. The monkeys were more fun, jumping on us, and climbing on us. The three of us could not stop laughing as we shot videos of each of us with the monkeys on our heads, climbing down our shirts, etc. We then moved on to the parrots which we held, then finally the sloths. We were able to hold the sloths and Jerry explained about these unusual animals.
Shem Yates was an excellent, informative and accommodating tour guide. We enjoyed learning about all the various trees and fruits grown on the island. The monkeys and sloths were fun and we got great photos holding them. William the supervisor was kind and addressed our needs. We were not rushed on any part of the tour and recommend it highly especially being with our tour guide Shem. Thank you Shem!
Visit Daniel Johnson’s Monkey and Sloth Hang Out on a half-day island tour that also explores villages, gorgeous viewpoints, and local landmarks. With a mix of wildlife and culture, it’s a great way to experience Roatan even if you have limited time, and you’ll see native species that are often hard to spot in the dense Honduran jungle.
Roatan Half-Day Combo Horseback Riding with Zip Line Monkey & Sloths & Snorkel
Great time by the individual providers
, Jan 2020
The weather was not cooperating - rainy but we had a great time anyway. The zip line with Geo and Eddy was very fun. They were entertaining and made you feel safe... Kong Zip Line.
The horseback riding was amazing as well and those guides provided education and amazing scenery.
We were unable to snorkel due to the weather.
The actual tour guide provided by the company that puts this pkg together was flat and just wanted to be done. He provided nothing to the tour.... his name was Murphy and I would suggest asking for a different guide. It was painful to be with him and it is a very good thing that the zip line and horseback adventures have their own tour guides. Remember you have to tip at all the places as they are not one company.
Okay, we have 3 older boys. We had a BLAST!!! This was way more than we expected out of a trip. They took us around and showed us incredible sights.
We did the 16 landings, ziplines and did incredible flips, twists, backward launches, etc. So much fun. Could never do any of this in the U.S.
Then we help monkeys, birds, sloths, guinea pigs. So adorable. Jumped all around us and we have great, memorable pics and videos.
Then we went horseback riding up through the hills, down roads and trails and finally ended up on the beach. They took our phones to shoot videos and pictures as we rode through the water along the beach. Awesome!
As if that wasn't enough, we then changed and headed out directly from the horses to the snorkeling area over the reef. Saw huge starfish, flounder, and all colors and types of fish.
So well organized, super friendly and helpful staff throughout the entire day.
It says it is a half-day trip and I thought 15 minutes here or there and then back on the ship. Not true. Whole day of fun and got us back about 2 hours before so we could still shop. They gave us a ton of history and even went through a gated area out to the 18 hole golf course to check out incredible views, photo opps and a house used for weddings that is at the peak and you can see both sides of the island. Great staff!
1) People - All of the guides (zip line, animals, horses, snorkel) all were so much nicer and "local" than I ever thought. So fun, so nice, so great
2) Events - there is NO zip lining like these guys - so much fun, and, if you want, WILD -
3) over-all best day trip ever from a cruise (right in port, they met us, made it easy)
I wish I could convey how OVER-DELIVERED this was! Awesome!
Thrillseekers and nature-lovers who need to stretch their legs will go wild for this private shore excursion on Roatan. After exploring the jungle on horseback, see it from above on a 16-line, 24-platform zipline course. The action-packed day continues at the sanctuary park, where you can see monkeys, sloths, and birds. Then discover what the island’s underwater world has to offer during a snorkel excursion.
Zip lining and the animal park were a ton of fun, staff at each stop went above and beyond to ensure we had a good time.
Our driver/guide Big Al was incredible. Taught us a lot about the island and showed us some beautiful spots.
We had a group of 14 who purchased tickets for this. We all had the very best time! The air conditioned bus kept us comfortable on the drive to and from. The large windows gave us the chance to see the gorgeous land as we passed by. First we went through the animal area and had a chance to hold a sloth (incredible!), let a bird walk on our head and got to give a Capuchin monkey a chance to sit on our shoulder. Great photo opportunities. We then went up and they got us ready for the zip lining. They checked and double checked our harnesses and did a great job explaining what we needed to do to be safe. There were 10 zip lines in all and it was the most fun! They encouraged you to do a couple "stunts" on the way but no forcing - it was all so so much fun. Of the 3 excursions we took on this trip, this was by far my favorite. Thank you so much!
Combine ziplines for all adrenaline levels with animal encounters and beach relaxation on Roatan Island. Choose mild or extreme ziplining (or skip it altogether), then hang out with monkeys, sloths, parrots, macaws, and more before snorkeling and relaxing on the white sand of West Bay Beach. Convenient pick-up at the cruise ship port or your hotel is included and a DVD of your adventure is available for purchase.
Roatan Monkey and Sloth Hangout plus ATV Adventure
, Feb 2020
Initially I was concerned about our safety :)
But turns out the day was well organised. The tour guides were friendly and went above and beyond to keep everyone together as a group and insisted we make time for photos. The tour was fun for all ages and a great day had by all. Would highly recommend
Good tour. Could be more organized. Little scary to be escorted to a vehicle and told to get in... Employees should be wearing a uniform shirt or something. ATVs were fun and a good experience. The monkeys and sloths were adorable and friendly.
Trent was our guide and was very great at answering all our question and even told us to just let him know if we wanted to stop anywhere else on our tour. Emmanuel was our atv guide and took us through a fishing village and stopped for picture and to give us a little info on the village. It was an amazing experience to see! Was great to hold a sloth and the monkeys were hilarious! It was a little overwhelming to figure out where to find them when we got off our ship but there was always someone there to help guide us. Highly recommend !
Visit a wildlife sanctuary for the opportunity to see monkeys, sloths, and other wildlife native to the Honduran jungle but rare spot on the island of Roatan. Animal lovers can interact with sloths and have their photos taken with the adorable creatures. The adventure continues with an ATV tour that combines adrenaline and scenery, while learning about the surrounding culture and history from your guide.
Ziplines were incredible - lots to see and high excitement! Guides were amazing - very encouraging. High energy Zip Line and then calm time on beach was great way to see lots of Roatan. Whole family enjoyed this outing!
Great excursion very professional and safe. No worries here except your fear of heights!
, Dec 2019
Great staff, super long and high zip lines. Everyone was so nice and so professional. It was Christmas day and these workers were all away from their families but you wouldn't know because not one person complained but rather each person made certain our trip was perfect. The driver, zipline staff to beach staff this was the best excursion for the entire cruise. Definitely the most bang for your buck.
Enjoy an alternative sightseeing experience of the remarkable Roatan Island on an exhilarating Zip ‘n’ Dip Canopy Tour. Soar over the dense canopy of Roatan’s exotic jungle on a zipline course on this adventurous shore excursion; scour the scenery for rare wildlife species and then plunge into the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean Sea for a revitalizing dip after your adventure.
Picked up right outside the gates area. We were expecting a smaller group, but it turned out to be just the two of us. Delia our guide was very professional and made the us feel very welcomed to the island. The sloths and monkeys are the absolute highlight. We could have skipped the rum since the rum is not made on the island but imported and infused. The chocolates were yummy and made for great gifts. But the highlight was the sloths and monkeys. In Roatan you are allowed to hug them, and they were so precious. I would love to do the tour again!
Excellent tour! Our guide, Tiffany, spoke perfect English. We were a group of 8 that stayed on the ship a second week. We enjoyed all the stops and had a wonderful experience with the monkeys and sloths. As a Travel Advisor, Thank You!
If you’re an animal lover this is the tour for you!! Mayan Jungle “Monkey & Sloth Hangout” has a great variety of exotic animals for you to learn the history of each of our animals such as a sloth, say hello to Jose and Dexter the monkeys, take photos with the beautiful birds, lemurs and more.
Along the way you will make various stops such as a stop at the highest point of the island where you can take pictures, do a little souvenir shopping, this also includes a trip to the chocolate & rum factory (I mean who doesn’t love chocolate and rum right?), where you will receive a briefing on the products and free samples of the different types of chocolates, various rum & rum cake that are all made here on the island, oh hold up! just a quick 411 that “BANANA RUMCAKE” is one of the best you’ll ever taste and let us not forget to mention the “MANGO FLAVORED RUM” it’s simply amazing.

Roatan Ziplines sloth park and west bay Beach break
Highlight of our trip
, Dec 2019
Our tour guide/driver was very friendly and kind. He drove us several places around the island and asked us where we'd like to stop (shops, attractions, activities).
The ziplines were a lot of fun. There were a variety of zipline lengths, but they were all fun and exciting. The staff did some tricks on the ziplines such as flips, going upside down, or spinning. They were courteous, friendly, and helpful. They even retrieved my hat that fell off as I went down the zipline.
The area with the animals was better than I expected. I got to see spider monkeys, a kinkajou, coatis, and guinea pigs. I was able to hold capuchin monkeys, parrots, a macaw, and a sloth. They also had a butterfly house.
Our guide/driver took us to the beach and he waited for us as we enjoyed the beautiful beach, swam, and saw some fish in the water.
The meet off the boast was easy and we then were walked to the zipline tour, staff were excellent and this trip made my sons holiday.
I do think some of the padding on the edges of the platforms could do with being replaced not that the staff let you bump into any of them !!
We then went to see the monkeys, I am not keen on caged zoo like environments and was worried that the animals would look mistreated, I was wrong the guide that showed us round was knowledgeable and really new the animal/birds he looked after.
All the animals we saw looked happy and healthy, we then had a driver take us round the island to a beautiful beach and wait while we had a drink and walk then dropped us back to the cruise boat.
The whole time it was just my family in the group so felt like a personal tour, just great.
Enjoy a fun-filled day of adventure, wildlife and beaches during this 4-hour shore excursion. This sprawling fun park combines a range of adventure activities with wildlife experiences and beautiful outdoor amenities. Take an adrenaline-fueled ride on one of the zipline park’s 23 platforms, including one of the longest ziplines in Central America. Then get up close and personal with the park’s monkeys at the on-site animal preserve before finishing your day with sunbathing and swimming at the peaceful sandy beach. Your trip includes round-trip port transport, zipline gear, driver and guide.
Shore Excursion: Roatan Monkey/Sloths Park Iguana and Butterfly Farm and Beach
We cuddled a sloth!
, Jan 2020
This tour was brilliant. Jaime, our guide was friendly, funny, informative and took us to other places of interest other than the sloths, monkeys and iguanas. The sloth and monkey experience was amazing. We loved this whole day and felt like we were leaving a member of our family when we said good-bye to Jaime. I absolutely recommend this tour to anyone.
This trip was my favorite of all three trips we did on our cruise. Janette was a great guide to have. She was very knowledgable and welcoming and we had great conversations with her. I would love to return again!
Our guide, Hayman, was amazing! Though we assumed we would be with a larger group, we had him all to ourselves! He was awesome at pointing out the culture and history as we drove to the sites. The sloth, monkeys, and iguanas were awesome! Each guide told us interesting information about each place we visited. We thought our tour was over yet Hayman encouraged us to try zip lining! It was amazing! We fell in love with Hayman and Roatan!

4-to-5 Hour Cultural Sightseeing Tour, Optional Monkeys/Sloths & West Bay Resort
, Dec 2019
The tour was great. The zoo was unbelievable with the monkeys and sloths and all the animals. After the tour, we went to the beach for 3 hours. The beach was great and the food and drinks were too. Ben, the tour driver, was great. Thanks Ben.
We met our tour guide on the outside after we pass the shops. The walk is far to get to the outside tours but it was worth it. Jerry (I hope I spelled his name right) took us around the island and explained some of the history of Roatan. That was a good hour to go around the island. Then, we went to a little zoo that had monkey's which we were able to go inside their cage and take pictures with them, we saw macaws and took pictures with them then we saw our favorite sloths! They were too cute and we took pictures with them!! The zoo was small but worth our time to visit the animals and take pictures with them! We then went to the West Bay Beach Resort which was great and amazing! . Bring extra money if you want to do activities at the beach. My husband, daughter and son did snorkeling near the second largest reef in the world.. This a must to do while you are in Roatan. My husband, daughter and son went on a small boat to the reefs and they spend a good hour plus going to two different locations near the reef to snorkel and they loved it!! The water was clear and beautiful. They were able to see small fishes around the reef which was amazing! I would recommend bring extra money if you are interested in snorkeling or other activities on the beach. They also had an awesome restaurant that made some really good pizza!!! This tour was great and would recommend it to everyone! You can't beat the price and can't beat what you see and experience! We give it five stars. Jerry was nice enough to drive us up the hill to where the shopping was near the cruise ships so we did not have to walk up the hill to enter in the shopping area and to head back to our ship. Jerry was great!!!

This half-day island tour is run by local guides, so you can learn more about Roatan culture as you visit Panorama Hill, Coxen Hole, and French Harbor; spot sloths and monkeys at Victor's Monkey Business; then dive in to swim and snorkel at West Bay Beach.

We had a great experience on our private tour. Our guide William was fantastic. We toured most of the island at our own pace. William told us what was possible and let us choose our destinations. We really enjoyed the monkey farm although having monkeys jump on you takes a little getting used to. Highly recommend this tour bo Biden through Viator.

Shore Excursion: Zip Line Adventure with Monkey/Sloth Hang-out and Snorkel
You should book this tour
, Feb 2020
Could not have asked for a better day!! The crew at the zip line were high energy and encouraging, the sloth supper snuggly, and we saw so many fish during our snorkeling tour.
From start to finish we had an amazing tour guide who gave us tons of information about the island and made the day top notch!!
Thank you Malachi 😀
We booked this excursion to do when we got of our cruise ship. There were five of us, 2 adults and 3 children ( 17,15,12). We were personally greeted and taken in a van to the location where we would zip line. The zip line was fast and fun and the crew was joking around and having a good time with the guests. My children did headstands and flips of the platforms! We also were able to see many animals after and interact with them. The same driver took us to another part of town where we took a boat out to a beautiful reef and went snorkeling. The water was clear and full of beautiful ocean life. The driver than took us back to our ship. It was a fun filled day and we would do this excursion again if we stop at this port. Thanks for some great memories, pictures, and videos!
When we arrived, we walked outside the port area, past the taxis, and down the road a bit and saw a man holding the "Anderson Tours" sign. We walked with him to a sketchy alleyway (not going to lie, I was nervous) where the tour guide's sisters/cousins tried to sell us "hand made" (also for sale by everyone in every port) jewelry. We sat for about 45 minutes waiting for the tour guide to get a car in the alleyway, and watched numerous cars go by with fully tinted windows. Once the tour guy arrived, we were told it would just be just the two of us on the tour - which was awesome on one hand but scary on another. We walked to the car (there was admittedly a lot of traffic). Once we got in, I asked if our first activity would be zip lining. He said it would, and he turned around and brought us back to the same place we started... Apparently the zip line place was just up the hill, so waiting was a waste of time.
Zip lining was extremely fun, although I didn't really being enough cash to tip everyone. I assumed we would have the one guide all day, but our tour guide was more of our liaison/taxi driver, and waited while we went zip lining with another group. I had to tip 3 guys for 45 minutes of entertainment, but unfortunately could only ration $5 for all of them.
We then had a couple drinks at a nearby bar, $5/drink and $1/bottle of water. Definitely keep in mind credit cards aren't like America in this country, where you tip after they swipe, so tell the server to add the tip before she walks away!
It was a short walk to the sloths. There were also monkeys, birds and butterflies. That was a short excursion (maybe 30 minutes whereas with gearing up the zip lining was an hour). Another guide showed us around while our main guide waited for us.
We then drove 45 minutes to the west side of the island to the docks. We got in a small boat with the guide and a driver and drove to a beach, got some photos, almost got a massage ($20 for one hour) and explored with the guide. We got back in the boat with some more people this time and went snorkeling. They provided gear, and a place to put your phone/wallet so it didn't get wet. The fish were gorgeous, by far the best part of the trip. This was about 2 hours. We tipped the driver of the boat who also did the snorkeling tour.
We also tipped our main guide. Total tips were $20, not sure if it was an appropriate amount between two people, I wish I had more cash on me.
Despite some miscommunication, it was a blast!
Soar through Roatan's lush green jungle on a zipline, doing flips, turns, and Superman moves as you go. This tour combines a zipline adventure with a visit to the monkey and sloth sanctuary and a snorkel excursion to Roatan's outlying coral reef. Arranging all of these activities on your own would be challenging, but booking this tour means all the details are taken care of, including all transportation from your hotel and in between activities.

Shore Excursion: Roatan Paradise West Bay Beach with Lunch
Everyone was friendly
, Jan 2020
This was a great place beautiful and clean, friendly
I didn’t like have to get there so early we were on the beach at 8 am! But I’m not a early person lol! Our driver to and from was excellent took his time no crazy driving. It did get a little crowded by the time we left at 1 but that happens at all beaches. I would do it again. Food was pretty good too. I wish we could have left at 8 though or 9.
I just want to inform you that my transportation never showed up . I hand to resort to taking a taxi from the port to Paradise West Bay Beach at an additional cost of $30.00 . The resort provided transportation back to the port. This was my second time at this beach and each time was a wonderful experience . The lunch was certainly satisfactory and the beach accommodations were great. ( lounge chairs & umbrellas)
There was a delay of more than an hour to pick us up form the port, so we lost about an hour and 20 minutes. Once we got there the place was very nice, great facilities, food was good, and the beach was beautiful. The service at the resort was great.
