My Husband and I took this tour in May and we had an incredible time! The views from the Roman Forum and Palantine Hill are breathtaking and we were there at a perfect time that it felt like we had the area to ourselves. This tour is well worth it for the Colosseum alone. Being able to go to the underground chamber and upper tier where no one else can go is great! The Colosseum can get very crowded so it was nice to be able to see these areas with only my small tour group. I highly recommend this tour, it is a must!

The tour wss excellent, both guides were very good. Tiberius who took us to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill was entertaining and very clearly passionate about history, Roman histroy and Rome. He was an excellent guide. The guide who then guided us through the Colosseum was also excellent she was an archaeologist and the insights gained through the part of the tour where we visited the arena floor as well as the underground parts of the Colosseum were fantastic. The skip the line feature of the tour worked well and enabled us to avoid the huge crowds that were there the day we visited Sunday. I would highly recommend this tour, but in July it is hot so take water and a hat, and there are quite a few stairs which some of our tour group were unable to cope with and thus missed some key sights of the tour.

My boyfriend and I loved the tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill on Sunday. Our guide, Maria Rosaria, was so knowledgeable and her passion for the topic shone through - she was incredibly engaging and interesting to listen to. There were two children in our group and Maria was so warm with them, involving them in every moment, which really impressed us too. I feel we gained far more insight into the history of the Colosseum and surrounding area than we would have done by visiting on our own or even using an audio guide.

This was a fantastic tour! One of our highlights of mine and my husbands short stay in Rome. We had access to the whole of the Colosseum including underground and all the way to the top. We had plenty of photo opportunity's, with Tiffany our guide offering to take photos for/of us. Tiffany was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot on our tour. This tour included a walk up Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. Because this was our first day in Rome we booked an afternoon tour, I would recommend a morning tour so you have plenty of time to explore the Roman Forum afterwards. We simply ran out of time but did manage to take lots of photos. I would highly recommend this tour, being in a group of just 6 people made it more personal. Tiffany is a lovely lady and we were very happy with this experience.

Fantastic tour - very kid friendly. Our guide was Jeanne sp?? -- also called herself Mama Jeanne....Simply superb, included all the children into the history of the Colisseum. Played some interactive games, asked questions and kept the children very engaged. Seriously all you need to do as parents is to take pictures. You still get a really good flavor of the Colisseum and its history. The tour ends at the Roman Forum. Lasts 2 hours. Highly recommended for families with younger kids

AMAZING! Our tour guide is an archaeologist during the winter so she was VERY informative and did a great job. We got lucky that our tour started in the morning at the Roman Forum and ended at the Colosseum because otherwise it could have been extremely hot walking up hills and around the Roman Forum at the middle of the day. It was cool seeing the underground, but for the little that you do get to see and the bad sound devices you have to listen on I wouldn't say its totally worth it. However, the listening devices they provide for the first part of the tour is totally worth it!

Our guide Francesca was excellent. She was able to explain all the features of the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum. She gave us plenty of time to see everything. It's well worth booking this tour to avoid queuing to get in.

Excellant tour!! Our tour guide worked at the Colosseum's archeological dig and was passionate about old Rome. The Colosseum tour was excellant and our guide assisted us in getting the best picture. The tour of the Roman Forum helped us to understand life in old Roman. Palantine Hill was so interesting - a must see.

Davide did a fabulous job and painted a great mental picture of the Roman Forum. There was a lot of walking, but it was worth seeing things in Ancient Rome we had not seen on previous trips. We only wish we had more time to spend in the Colosseum, but it was a very hot afternoon with minimal shade. Wear good shoes, and I highly room end sunscreen and/or a parasol.

Our night tour of the Colosseum was incredible! Our tour guide, Irena, was very sweet, funny and informative. We were able to see the Roman Forum and learn so much history about the layers of Rome on our way to the Colosseum! When we arrived at the Colosseum it was just our tour group and one other in the entire place! It allowed us to take some incredible pictures without a bunch of other tourists in the shots and also were able to see the underground chambers where they kept the animals and gladiators! I would highly recommend spending just a bit more to see this amazing piece of history in a more quiet and private environment!

We had El Torrido for our morning col. tour I kind of forgot what his name was as our guide and he was amazingly awesome. Absolutely humorous, walked at a speed that was fast enough for most but slow enough for us to take photos at, was well detailed when introducing the col. and the roman forum and palatine hill

We took this tour on 6/18/16 with Patricia as our guide. It actually had a tour within a tour as we met up with another guide who took us into the underground chambers and upper tier of the colosseum which I highly recommend. There was a lift for those unable to climb up and down the stairs to the underground portion, but I'm not sure if there was one for the upper tier. The steps for the upper tier were very steep and may not be suitable for all travelers. The tour was very informative and gave you a great glimpse into Imperial Rome. The second half of the tour included the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill which made for some incredible views! Overall, the tour was amazing. A little time would have been nice to stop and grab some souvenirs from the gift shop inside, but there's plenty of other shops nearby.

We really enjoyed our tour of the Colosseum and The Roman Forum. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the history and we felt like we learned so much about that period that we never knew before. We had access to areas in this tour that people who purchased the standard tour did not, the price was worth it!

Met up with the City wonders tours at the side of the Colloseo metro stop. Despite lots of tours meeting up, we were quickly sorted out a group of around 20 US, UK and Aus, provided with headphones and transmitters to enable commentary from our English speaking guide Francesca. First we walked around the Roman Forum, plenty of interesting information provided, the commentary never became boring, keeping our two teenagers engaged. Francesca was knowledgeable about her subject and rightly proud of Rome and it's treasures. Then on to the awesome Colloseum, waited in a small queue to clear security, but got inside pretty quickly. We then had a short toilet break of around 15 minutes while we waited for the Colloseum guide Barbara, Francesca stayed with the tour, must be a Colloseum thing the headsets provided here were not as good, more like a walkie talkie and initially harder to hear the guide. Started out on the arena floor, it was awe inspiring to stand there and look up at the size of the place. Then we descended down into the lower level of the structure, very interesting to see 'behind the scenes' of how the show would be set and staged. This included a reconstruction of a lifting device used to move animals / gladiators into the arena. After this we ascended a lot of steps lift provided some of the way for those who needed it to the fourth tier, this provided superb views of both the Colloseum and much of Rome. The radios worked much better here and the information given was interesting. We were given plenty of time for photos and to ask questions. The tour ended there, we descended to the ground floor where we took our leave of Francesca, we were able to stay inside the Colloseum for as long as we wanted, before making our way out. The tour is long, it lasted around 3.5 hours and it gets hot, but I would recommend it as the 'skip the lines' and the information provided by our guide definitely enhanced the experience.

You have not seen the true colosseum unless you do this! They take you to EVERY level from the highest point to the bottom. The history you learn from the guide is so in depth and there is truly so much more to see and learn. I had to be talked into this as I had already seen it, or thought I had. What a different and better experience it is to actually walk the entire building and enter the underground passage ways and tour the upper level. If you are going to go, do this. The small group size and bypassing the crazy line alone is worth it. Our tour also took us to the Roman Forum and Palentine Hill. There we had our guide as well, but were then left to explore on our own. Which we did. It was wonderful too. Fully enjoyed it.

Excellent Tour! First we walked to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill where everything was explained in detail. Our guide had pictures of how everything would have looked in those days, which was great. Then we entered the Colosseum. I booked the upgrade which included the underground chambers, arena and upper tier a must!!!!. Loved our guide! I highly recommend this tour.

The girl that was assigned to us, was wonderful. She knew exactly what she was talking about. We started of in the Colosseum and then moved to the Roman Forum. She made a cool remark saying that to get to know the Roman Forum, you need to immerse yourself in it and spend time there. In the Colosseum, she showed us a marking on the pillar where people use to buy wine too. I thought it was pretty amazing. I wish I could remember her name! Also, even though she kept saying her English wasn't good, I thought it was pretty clear and I could definitely understand what she wanted to tell us. In overall, I would recommend this tour to anyone.

This was a fantastic tour! I would to this one again. I had no idea how much you would do on this tour it was terrific. You got to see the Roman forum first and then headed to the Colosseum. This is well worth the money. We loved it! This one was my favorite tour. Skipping the line is the best!

I really enjoyed this tour. I would recommend, and have done, to anyone heading to Rome for a holiday. The Roman Forum and Palatine Hill were amazing, probably a little rushed but I understand the time constraints, but the Colosseum tour was the highlight. Gaining access to gated off areas of the Colosseum gave a complete different insight into the history of the place.
The fact that our tour guides were both archaeologists only added to the tour.

This was exactly the tour we were looking for: behind the scenes access to parts of the colosseum that are not typically on view to other groups! It was phenomenal walking out onto the floor of the colosseum. We had a good 15 minutes there to get oriented and look around and take pics... stunning views from this spot. And the underground chambers were amazing as well. We went with a guide from the colosseum who had to use keys to access the areas we visited... it felt very special! Our viator guide for the day was Elizabetta and she was very organized, friendly and knowledgeable. After our tour at the colosseum she escorted the group to the Roman Forum, which is stunning. It's a massive site so we zipped through this at a decent pace but after the formal tour was complete we had free time to wander... and we stayed an additional two hours to explore. Well worth the price of this tour!
